Just to keep things moving...
Delphine continues to delay, ready to assist if someone needs healing.
Greyveil threatens to immolate anyone who doesn't get out of the way.
Max takes a swing, misses, and steps back.
Dolres takes a swing, misses, and is so surprised by this that she loses concentration on the spell that she was simultaneously trying to cast.
Greyveil then finally has his opportunity to immolate the snake, causing some more damage to it.
The snake slithers up on top of the sarcophagus, and tries to bite Greyveil...
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15, for 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3.
...and finally manages to score a blow, burying its fangs into the flesh of his left forearm.
@Greyveil: Roll a Fort save.
Round 6: Delphine, Max, Greyveil, Eldlen, Dolres, IC(-12)
Party is up.
Dolres

The 17 misses as well? I get one regular attack and additional attack using my weapon and spell together, which would be my second attack which I badly missed"
Greyveil
|
Fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Now bitten Greyveil steps back and tries again. I believe my bombs bypass any damage reduction this creature has while your weapons do not. If you cannot coordinate your attacks to be clear of the thing I guess I will simply withdraw as I do not wish to burn you and do not like being a target when I cannot fight back.

@Dolres: The 17 did indeed miss (its AC is above 19). Also, please note that you failed the concentration check to cast the Shocking Grasp, losing the spell, so you don't get a free attack to deliver it (not that it matters, since it missed badly anyway).
@Greyveil: Just remember, there is nowhere you can 5' step at present that won't provoke when you throw a bomb.

Delphine continues to delay.
Max makes another ineffectual swing.
Greyveil fights off the poison, and steps back, focusing solely on defense.
Eldlen steps forward and takes another swing at the snake, but it easily dodges out of the way.
Round 6: Delphine, Max, Greyveil, Eldlen, Dolres, IC(-12)
Dolres is up.

Dolres tries again
Battleax: 1d20 + 3 + 1 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 1 - 2 + 2 = 24
Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 1 = 5
Concentration: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 + 2 = 24 (I am not using my weapon this time)
Ray of Frost: 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 3 - 2 = 6
Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2

Dolres takes a swing at the snake, drawing sparks down the length of its body, and filling the air with the unholy shriek of metal being dragged across metal (Doesn't beat DR).
She then successfully casts a spell, throwing out a ray of frost, but the snake is too quick for her, retaliating even as she casts the spell.
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13, for 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 damage.
Ray of Frost is still a ranged attack, even when being done via spell combat, and therefore provokes...
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19, for 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 damage.
...and although she dodges the first bite, the second catches her off-guard.
@Dolres: Please roll a Fort save.
Round 6: Delphine, Max, Greyveil, Eldlen, Dolres, IC(-12)
Party is up.

as Eldlen attacks the snake again, growing tired of the attacks not working asks the team

Eldlen takes a swing at the snake, but his blow goes wide.
Dolres then takes her own crack at the snake... and whilst the construct dodges out of the way of her battleaxe, her [i]Ray of Frost strikes true, freezing the snake solid.
Combat (finally!) over.

Neither chest is trapped or locked.
One of the chests contains a suit of MW padded armor, which appears to have withstood the test of time remarkably well. The other chest holds a disintegrating cloth sack filled with 500 gp, as well as a small, well-preserved darkwood coffer worth 50 gp. Inside the coffer are two potions, an ornate lapis and carnelian pendant worth 70 gp, and an assortment of carnelian, lapis lazuli, and turquoise semiprecious stones worth a total of 55 gp.

"Took you guys long enough. Here let me heal you a little." Delphine says and touches Dolres with the wand of healing.
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
"Was this the entire tomb?"
Greyveil
|
We've not opened the north door in the larger tomb room where the animated sarcophagus attacked us. Greyveil helps gather up valuables. This padded armor must be magic. It looks nearly brand new. he supposes. Can anyone check it out? He will also examine the mechanical snake, wondering if it still contains a store of poison.
Eldlen Meirdrerel
|
I believe Grey veil is correct cousin, pray thee, shalt we explore the final portion of this vault? It shall be on our way out.
Eldlen goes back to the "false sarcophagus" room, going to the northern doors he attempts to push them open.
strength check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Eldlen, not able to budge the doors asks
cousin, mightiest thou move yon doors?
Luke_Parry
|
Eldlen attempts to open the doors, but discovers them to be well and truly stuck.
Just to save time...
Even with Max trying his hardest, and Dolres and Eldlen assisting, the doors remain stubbornly closed.
They are actual doors, but the DC to force them open is quite high.
Greyveil
|
This way is closed to us. Let us gather what wealth we can from this place and return to the city of the living. Greyveil updates the notes he has taken on the way out, adding sketches and diagrams where needed for clarity. The church may well be interested in these notes. [/b[ he explains.
Delphine Tarrasquel

"Let's see what treasures this tomb really holds"
Delphine Tarrasquel
|
"Hmm maybe there is some other way to open these doors. What about the locks?" Delphine says and studies the doors closely.
perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
will this be blocking our progress or is there some way to get in with this group?
Dolres
|
Dolres takes her time to examine the hallway looking for a secret way into the final room.
I will take two searching the hallway between A17 and A18 giving me a 24
Luke_Parry
|
To save time...
Despite several hours of searching, and the combined perceptive power of the entire party, there appears to be no other way to the area beyond the door, except through it.
If you really want to, you can break the door down by chopping it apart... but Max at least remembers that damaging the tomb would be a bad idea.
Max Titan
|
Max makes a joke to get to beyond that door, we need to get through it. Too bad we ain't ghosts.
Luke_Parry
|
Deciding to leave the doors alone, the party returns to civilization to rest, recuperate, and prepare for the next day of exploration.
If you wish to make any purchases, feel free to do so now. Otherwise, I will progress to the next 'dungeon' :-)
Max Titan
|
I assume a day passes between this dungeon and the next, or at least a long rest. I would like to purchase a ladder and 3 chakrams. I have the carrying capacity, but a ladder is 10 feet long, not sure if it would be possible to carry one with me to the next dungeon. Unless a foldable ladder can be taken with me.
Delphine Tarrasquel

Dolres

Dolres begins to mumble to herself and then her hands begin to glow. Slowly her runs her hands over all of the items collected.

Dolres is unable to identify the armor, but is able to work out that the shield is a Scarab Shield.
Having rested for the night in the living section of Wati, the party, feeling somewhat refreshed, heads for the second ruin that has been assigned to them...
Sandstone walls ten feet high enclose this estate, affording those who once lived inside some privacy. A two-story stone house is visible beyond the walls, adjoining the rear wall of the property. In the center of the estate's southern wall stands a pair of tarnished bronze gates hanging partially open. A pair of statues (depicting two men with a regal bearing and dressed in loose, short robes and traditional Osirian head cloths) flanks the gate. Dusty hieroglyphs are carved into the wall at eye level to the left of the gate.
Max Titan
|
remember that ladder I bought earlier? Can I use that to get over the gate and drop down over the other side? Or is the gate like right in front of a door where going over it would not be possible?

In the center of the estate's southern wall stands a pair of tarnished bronze gates hanging partially open.
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Eldlen looks carefully at the bronze gate, squeezing his trim body through the partially open gates, he cautiously inspects the two statues, turning and addressing the group he asks
pray tell shalt we inspect yon home?
Hee then goes to the front door of the house and carefully checks the door to see if it is trapped and locked or locked.
