Zynep throws open the door to surprise the occupants...
and sees great, upright stones dominate this room, evenly spaced out
to allow for easy passage between them. The stones have been
perfectly carved to form bookshelves, each with six different
shelves containing various books, notes, maps, and other
crammed-in documents. A perpetual thick gray fog covers
the floor of this room to a height of six inches, and most of
the documents on the lowest shelves of the bookcases appear
to have rotted away because of condensation from this fog,
giving the room a pungent, musty aroma.
She immediately sees a small bloated creature standing north of the door...drooling and waiting to attack...

15-Zantir delays...also waiting for Zynep to move...
12-Zynep calls out to Maps to shoot it as she withdraws, giving him a better shot,

11+Zantir steps up and slashes the creature across the neck but his silver scimitar does not quite cut as deeply as he expected. Still the creature howls in pain, as green oozes from the wound.

9-Varg tries to swing at the small creature blocking the doorway, but slams into the door jam, sending a shower of wood and stone flying in all directions. Varg was not outlined by the glittering lights, but cannot see into the room to the point where the spell caster seems to have cast the spell..

It's a dretch demon. I can't remember it's weaknesses, give me moment. Not silver I would guess.
Flinders steps in front of Zynep and begins lecturing about ancient Thassilonian politics, (that's a slippery topic?) directing a spell toward the dretch demon.

Yes, DC18 to avoid the blindness, so Zantir is only one that made it that I saw. Sorry for the edit, was hoping to get it added before you read the post.
Flinders, stumbing around blindly, moves in front of Zynep and tries to remember about dretch demons. He recalls that cold-iron or blessed weapons seems to hurt them more, and they are immune to toxins, electicity and very resistant to acid, cold and heat.
I do not see anything about targeting spells while blind...so assuming since you are not targetting the creature itself, you would succeed. Looking for anything to rule otherwise, but so far not finding it.
Edit. Actually, I found it...To cast a targeted spell, such as grease, the caster needs line of effect and line of sight. To cast on effect spell, he only needs line of effect. So cannot target grease spell, so you can take a different action. Also, you get a new save vs. Blindness at the end of your turn.

Flinders cannot get to the doorway since Zantir currently stands there. Also, since it will likely come up again, miss chance when I GM is always 1d2 and high(2) is always good for the attacker...just to keep it consistent.
Flinders swings his whip at the creature, but cannot see well and with Zantir in the way, misses the small creature.
On a happy note, Flinders eyesight is recovering from the blindness.

She casts a spell, careful to stay out of Alan's reach....
