In my home game we made it were you could Track without the feat as long as the DC was under 20, much like Rogues with traps. It's working out well. Now characters can follow a blood trail down a street or a army across the plains with out need of a feat, because I don't believe you would not need a feat for such cases. Tell me want you think.

How does anyone get BETTER at it without something to put points into?
It's just an application of the Survival skill, same as it was before. You put points into Survival if you want to get better.

yea, changes dynamics some too (heh).
We had a ranger/rogue in 3.5 who converted to beta. Now it seems she would have been better off as just rogue.
Seeing as she had only taken 2 levels of ranger just for track and two weapon fighting, that now with rogue talents and survival/ track being changed (and the way skills in pathfinder work now), she never needed those two levels in ranger for the character she was trying to be.
Weird huh?
I think for the purposes of play testing, we are going to let her trade in those levels of ranger to just go rogue.
