Unknown Tech Priest of Mars Ascended Magos Rank 8

You land the Aquila Lander in a discrete landing pad hidden from view under and around large surrounding structures. The forges and buildings of this place are truly massive in scale. The air is filled with smoke and ash and visibility is limited through the dense fog of pollutants. You are met by a servitor that does not speak, it simply leads you through a connecting hallway into a large room.
"Four astartes. Welcome. I am called Ryth."

A very large Magos stands before you. He matches the description of Ryth and carries with him an Aquila Token with the I of the Inquisition between the wings. (Knowledge Inquisition/Ciphers Inquisition for more information) He speaks in short broken sentences, but also seems to be humming and buzzing as he speaks (Techa Linga for more information)"Brother Enoch. No reports. Last seen here." He projects a map on the wall using a built in pict recorder from one of the many mechanical tendrils that are attached to him.

Brother Sven comes in after Magos Ryth's first introduction. He simply adds Five Astartes. He looks at Brother Marius I do not know of Lady Orthan. I do not know of Camyr. Brother Enoch was quiet. I last saw Brother Enoch when I eased the Machine Spirit of his Dreadknight. The two became one, Blessed be the Omnissaih. He sought out a foe worthy of such a mighty machine spirit. I fear they both might be lost.

Brother Balaaki:
, you know that the Inquisitional Icon that Magos Ryth is carrying marks him as a Throne Agent in service of High Lord Inquisitor Caidin, of the Calixian Conclave and part of his personal retinue. Due to the proximity of Calixis sector to the Jericho reach via the Well of Night, it is common to see support elements from that sector here, but a member of the Conclave is rare. Your Paranoia is going off big time! The servators , skull drones, and tech priests seem to be everywhere and you are not sure if they are truly working as hard as it seems or quietly observing you.

You can click on Magos Ryth's profile for more information. I have certain information hidden in a spoiler tag, if you have the appropriate skill click on the tag to know more about Magos Ryth. This is mostly for tutorial purpose, but has some relivance.

"I am recieving a message from your Watch Captain. Switching to secret vox spirits. Shareing spirits with you. Blessed be the Omnissaih."

You hear in your internal vox Watch Captain Weis.
+++Leaving for our mission now. Emperor speed you to finding Brother Enoch and uncovering the heresy on Samech. Once you are finished here I have arranged for Mistress Alenikov to meet you. Bravo team is finishing up with their mission and you will regroup then. May the Emperor protect you brothers.+++

Tech Use -30 meaning use the dice command. If you succeed you get access to this information.:
There is something odd about the message. It is too clean, and seems manufactored. This could be due to being in the pressence of such a mighty tech-priest, or something else.

Example
Tech Use Skill 60 (So I need under 30): 1d100 ⇒ 50
I failed. You can use preview to get the roll before you post so you do not have to edit your posts.

Male Imperial Fist Apothecary rank 4

Brother Castor will attempt the tech use.
Tech USe 65: 1d100 ⇒ 12

M Dark Angels [Ravenwing] Rank 4 Assault Marine

I attempt to use tech use as well.
Tech Use 50: 1d100 ⇒ 26
Failed it by a single point. Damn.

Male Black Templar 4

Marius will ask the last known location/destination of Brother Enoch.

Unknown Tech Priest of Mars Ascended Magos Rank 8

I guess things got a bit confusing there. You are all on Samech, a Forge/Fotress world controlled by the Skitarii. It started as a planet rich in minerals and has been mined to its core. Many ancient mining machines still exists among the large factorums and defense platforms. Camyr is a pleasure planet behind the Iron Collar, it is the current destination of the Wraithbringer. The Wraithbringer is leaving for that planet, and Captain Weis was wishing you good bye and good luck put simply.

"He was last seen there. His destination was unknown to me. He sought out a daemon." The Magos points to a place on the projected map that seems to be an oasis of desert in this large mechanical world. There is a large Machine in the middle of the desert.

Knowledge Adeptus Mechanicus, or Forge World Home Wolrd in back story:
The machine is a hephestus class strip minner. It is larger than a warhound titan and can house thousands of crew members. It is likley out of commision.

The Magos begins to make whistles and beeps again

Techna Linga+10:
He is issuing orders to the Servators and Drones. Mostly mundane mateniance and prayers.
Techna Linga -30/orCiphers Adeptus Mechanics+0:
He is issueing an order to the servator that brought you in to place a tracking device on your aquila lander

" Can I be of any other assistance? If not I must attend to other duties. I shall have my tech priests see to your equipment if you require."

Edit Due to your Parnoia roll that I rolled before, go ahead and read the tech use spoiler Brother Balaalakai

Male Black Templar 4

Marius will thank the Magos for his time and turn to the tech priests.

He will query the priests about the "large machine", it's purpose, is it still active, do we need to preserve it, etc. Second, any intelligence on said daemon that Enoch provided or was provided prior to his departure. Lastly, he will arrange transport to the location.

After all of that, he will ask the blessings of the Emperor over their crusade against the forces of Chaos and that he watch over them as they do His good work.

(Use a fate point for Abhor the Witch and take the Oath of the Emperor, unless there are any objections from the team)

I'd like to tell the Magos of what I saw earlier (the servitors "slacking off" and what not) "It seems your servitors are not working to the best of their condition, Magos. And your.. tech-priests are seeming interested in our conversation." I'd state this, just loud enough for them to hear. (Inspiring a bit of fear, hopefully)

Then, over internal vox, I report. "Brothers, the message from our Watch Captain seemed..almost.. it was almost fake, brothers. It was too..too clean." I'm going to use stubborn to make sure they get it. (I.E. just in case I fail on it, I will enforce that it was not a "true" message.)
Fellowship: 1d100 - 10 ⇒ (65) - 10 = 55
Failed by a degree, but am going to use a fate point to pass (feeling this is pretty important information.)

Unknown Tech Priest of Mars Ascended Magos Rank 8

That is an ancient spirit. Blessed be the Omnissaih. It is a Hephestus Class Miner. It is currently used for training. Please do not harm the ancient vessle. Brother Enoch beleived there was something to be found there. He told me he believed a daemon might be involved, but said nothing more about it. My acolytes have not reported seeing Brother Enoch, nor any sign of any daemons.

The Magos addresses Brother Baalakai "You are mistaken Astartes, my servants are all working at their full capacity. Dark Angels. Inherantly suspicious." The magos said the last part as if accessing a file and reading it allowed.

Male Black Templar 4

Marius, over internal vox to the rest of the kill team regarding Baalakai's comment:

"Brothers, we know that there is corruption here and that the traitors of Alpha Legion are operating in this sector. Be on the look out for inconsistencies (he places some emphasis on the word) but I would advise not to show our hand. Let them think us fools until we place a bolter round through their heretic skulls."

Now that his suspicions are aroused regarding the Magos/Tech-Priests he will scrutinize the Magos and tech priests.

"Thank you again for your service. The Emperor protects..."

1d100 ⇒ 24

Scrutiny roll, PER 40, one degree of success.

(Mike, I have Forbidden Lore Traitor Legions +20%, could I use that to see if I can identify anything out of place?)
This entire thing seems odd to him. Of course, the Paranoia is setting in after Marius's last statement, and I'd like to notice anything out of place. (Anything the Alpha Legion would slip up on.)
TraitorLegions+20: 1d100 ⇒ 2

Made it by 6 degrees.

Unknown Tech Priest of Mars Ascended Magos Rank 8

Brother Baalakai:
Nothing resembling Alpha legion or any other legion you are certain.

Brother Marius:
Nothing seems out of place, in fact just the opposite. It is all very well maintained, better than any facility you have been on before, even your chapter's own Crusader vessel you regret to admit to yourself.

" You are welcome astartes. You may use your lander to land at these coordinates. It is the location of the Hephestus miner. Blessed be the Omnissaih and the God Emperor. " He hands Brother Marius a data slate with the same map he projected on the wall earlier.

Male Imperial Fist Apothecary rank 4

After arriving at the lander Castor would like to do a systems check.
Tech-Use 65: 1d100 ⇒ 17
dang even on here I roll amazing

Dark Archive

Male Human Dungeon Master

Brother Castor:
The lander readout says in the holy words of the Ommnissaih +++++All systems operable. New device installed successfully by servator designation 14-009-007-000111-00 M41 999.99 07.++++

I'd like to get on the Lander, and look for anything out of the ordinary on board. If not finding anything, I'd like to ask the Chaplain for a prayer, even though as a Black Templar he believes different then myself. If I find something, I'd like to see what it is exactly.

Dark Archive

Male Human Dungeon Master

Starting to get the feeling spoilers were read...

Male Imperial Fist Apothecary rank 4

I can say I haven't read anything that I haven't gotten for myself.

"Brothers the systems check shows the lander in operating condition and recently upgraded apparently, shall we proceed to our destination?"

Male Black Templar 4

Then let's get the bus a-rollin'!

"Very good. Let us do the Emperor's Will this day."

Marius offers a prayer for Brother Baalakai, with the hope of coverting him to the true path... :)

Male Imperial Fist Apothecary rank 4

Castor will attempt to fly the Lander, no pilot Skill so Tech Use it is.
Tech Use 65: 1d100 ⇒ 91

Dark Archive

Male Human Dungeon Master

It is an easy check so +30, meaning you barly pass Brother Castor.

As you approach the small desert, it looks like an oasis surrounded by mountains of industrial cities. Right in the center is the Hephestus Class Miner. It is not moving.

Search -20:
The sand pollution make it difficult to see, but you do see something that looks like a large Mechanical arm sticking out of the desert, a few miles from the large miner.

You see the landing pad you were instructed to dock. The miner does possess a large array of external defenses, they all track you as you give your passcode.

Male Imperial Fist Apothecary rank 4

Search 40-20: 1d100 ⇒ 6

As I seem to have passed somehow I will relay that I noticed the Mechanical Arm sticking out of the ground.

Male Black Templar 4

Mechanical arm, as in Dreadknight-ish mechanical arm or something else?

Male Imperial Fist Apothecary rank 4

"I am unsure Brother Marius, all I could tell was it was a large arm a few miles from the Miner. We may want to go investigate it at the very least."

Castor will land the Lander on the Landing Pad once he has gotten authorization to do so.

Dark Archive

Male Human Dungeon Master

You are allowed to land the aquila lander. Several servators and a Tech-Enginseer welcome you. "I am newly initiated so I was chosen to speak with you. I am Tech Enginseer Gith. How can I help you?"

Male Black Templar 4

"We are investigating the disappearance of a Space Marine by the name of Enoch. Magos Ryth told us that he came here. What do you know of him or his whereabouts."

Dark Archive

Male Human Dungeon Master

Astartes named Enoch? You are the first Astartes I have seen in a long time. We did expect to recieve you earlier though. Did you get caught in an ash storm?

Scrutiny +10:
This Enginseer seems earnest.
Scrutiny+10 with 2 or more degrees of success and knowledge Mechanicus or Tech-Use(no roll needed just have skill):
You have seen enough Tech Priests and Enginseers in your time to see that he truly is newly initiated. Strange that he would be sent to great members of the Deathwatch, or any Astartes. He seems to believe it is because it might make him more relateable to you, but this is not typical.

Bravo Session for Brother Gannicus

After the defeat of the traitor shaman Shimone and the tyranids, the group decides they need to get some supplies and check in with the Cael.

The Cael has been busy doing his own purge of heretics since the kill team left and has recovered several captured Imperial Guardsmen.

Will you assist me Brother Librarian in assessing these men for signs of heresy? I am told Librarians are adapt at sensing the warp touched. The pious rogue trader asks with a warm smile.

"I would be glad to assist in any way I can." Returning the smile.

Mistress Alenikov leads you to an old dungeon where the men are being held. When the men see you their eyes light up with awe. "An Astartes! Please sir help us we are not tainted tell her! PRAISE THE GOD EMPEROR!

Scrutiny+10:
The men who are cheering do seem sincere and show no initial sign of taint.

Search +10:
There are a few men keeping quiet during this, but they could be ill or hungry you are not sure.

Mistress Alenikov takes out a device and holds it to her eye peering throught it.

Knowledge Psykers+10:

You notice 4 men in the back have strange auras. They seem to be the target of some psychic phenomenon. Due to your degrees of success you recognize this as a Tzeentch power of compulsion. They seem to be waiting for the right time or trigger to strike.

Mistress Alenikov watches you as you seem to slip into a quick medatative state. Have you found something?

PbP for Alpha 5/21/15 session

While the rest of the kill team followed the Enginseer to the office, you stayed to watch the lander. Suddenly the facility's defenses fire on the Aquila and destroy it utterly.

Roll Agi test to avoid blast, can add dodge bonus if have it. If you fail you fall and take 30 damage no pen as you fall into the desert. After you roll Agi test roll initiative.

Initiative: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

M Dark Angels [Ravenwing] Rank 4 Assault Marine

Testing Agility right now.
Agility: 1d100 ⇒ 53
Going to tank the damage, down to 11.
Initiative: 1d10 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
Lightning Reflexes doubles agility bonus (+5) and Paranoia gives a +2.
I'd immediately kick on my jump-pack, flying into the air and back onto my feet (Free action with leap up). I'd then like to fly for cover if there is any.

Dark Archive

Male Human Dungeon Master

You fly up and are able to seek cover between the massive tracks of the Hephestus Miner. You see a massive hole in the ground where Decavean Crystals are being excevated. A mining Servator aims his plasma cutter your direction.

There are several mining servators, only one seems to be paying you any heed.

Initiative

Brother Baalakai 19
Corrupted Skittarii 10

Attack: 1d100 ⇒ 4
Made it with 6 degrees.
Damage: 1d10 + 12 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 12 + 7 = 26
26 Power sword damage to the servitor

Dark Archive

Male Human Dungeon Master

The servator cracks in half under the might of your attack. You can see above you an opening in the giant minning vessel that will allow you to gain access in the ship, or you can go further down the mining pit.

M Dark Angels [Ravenwing] Rank 4 Assault Marine

This.. heresy.. must be extinguished at the center. I activate my jump pack and fly upwards, going inside the ship. I look around and try and find where I am (Unless I already know that, heh.)
Perception: 1d100 ⇒ 35
Made it by 5 points.

Dark Archive

Male Human Dungeon Master

You are unsure how many levels down you are from where your ship was docked, you estimate at least 3. There is some prometheum pipes fueling some forges in this area. A tech priest turns to you and says "Astartes, this area is offlimits without the consent of the Master of the Forge. Please return to the top floor with the others." Several gun drones and other servators are in the area, but they seem to be focused on their forges at the momment.

Since you rolled so well on perception, you notice that this Tech Priest does not seem hostile, just informing you of a protocol.

M Dark Angels [Ravenwing] Rank 4 Assault Marine

I nod to the Tech-Priest, quickly going to the top floor as best I can. I would like to find who is in charge of this area/ship.
When I do, I'd like to speak to him.
"Why fire on Astartes, unless you prove yourself a traitor, scum." And I'd like to hold my sword towards him. I imagine this is intimidate?
Strength: 1d100 ⇒ 10
Made it by 3 degrees. Getting lucky on the dice roles, heh.

Dark Archive

Male Human Dungeon Master

Your intimidation confuses them long enough to delay their fire, but they soon start to shoot at you as you have broken protocol and accessed the vessel without permission. You are able to slip to the next level and behind cover.
The Master of the Forge seems to be the one mentioned as having authority.

Knowledge Mechanicus/Skitarii/:
The Master of the Forge will probably be overseeing operations from a central location. Probably the second floor up.

Ciphers Mechanicus/Techna Lingua+20:
The Office for the Master of the Forge is marked as being on the second floor.

Tech-Use/Security/Logic-10:
You have trouble accessing information on the Master of the Forge, but it appears he is missing. There are not many places he could go without the rest of the mechanicus on the planet being aware of his absence, maybe down the mine?

M Dark Angels [Ravenwing] Rank 4 Assault Marine

I'll try and do Techna-Lingua even though I don't have it, as the +20% is pretty good.
Techna-Lingua: 1d100 ⇒ 83
Failed, even with the +20.
I'll try a logic test then.
Logic: 1d100 ⇒ 46
I'll use a fate point just to make it.
I'll try and use an Awareness check to find a way out of the area.
Perception: 1d100 ⇒ 88
Failed, again.

Dark Archive

Male Human Dungeon Master

You peek your head out to see and are instantly pinned by surpressive fire. You believe using your jump pack you could speed down to the bottom of the mine and avoid the on-coming fire, or you could attempt to go up another level, but the automated systems might be too much to overcome.

M Dark Angels [Ravenwing] Rank 4 Assault Marine

Hmph, I know the Master of the Forge could be down in the mine, and he's the only one with an expectation. A fellow Astartes may listen to reason.. or he may be a traitor too.
I kick on my jump-pack, and boost myself towards the mines, readying my weapons in hand just in case.

Dark Archive

Male Human Dungeon Master

1d100 ⇒ 22

Aware of your presence, what looks like a Rogue Trader and a Servator fire on you as you approach the bottom of the mine. The Master of the forge is there hooked up to some sort of stasis chamber.

Initiative: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

Roll Initiative and give me your actions

M Dark Angels [Ravenwing] Rank 4 Assault Marine

Okey doke.
Initiative: 1d10 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21
Not bad, I have to say.
I'll charge the rogue trader, trying to cut him down in one fell swoop.
Attack: 1d100 ⇒ 83
Ah, a miss sadly.
But, swift attack lets me make two attacks automatically (Pretty sure at least, just checked some forums and such and those are what they said but correct me if I'm wrong]
Attack: 1d100 ⇒ 88
Damn, another fail.

Dark Archive

Male Human Dungeon Master

Typically the way I have ruled in the past is on the charge you get only your one attack with the Charge bonus, you can activate swift attack and lightning attack once you are engaged on the next round. The reason for this is that it makes the fights a bit more dynamic and it goes both ways. If I charged one of you with an enemy with lightning attacks it could be just as bad.

The Rogue Trader deftly avoids your attacks with keen precision that is typically not seen in a mere human. However, you cause him to drop a strange hand held device. It hits the ground and the stasis field surrounding the Master of the Forge drops. The mighty magos quickly seizes the oppertunity and 1d100 ⇒ 92 tries to reclaim the servator, but something triggers and it explodes.

Initiatives

Brother Baalakai 21 in melee with Diaz Lan
Rogue Trader Diaz Lan 11 in melee with Brother Baalakai
Master of the Forge 11- destroyed rogue servator

Dam you! I need this facility! The rogue trader exclaims as he retaliates with his own attacks
1d100 ⇒ 54
1d100 ⇒ 58
1d100 ⇒ 53

He fails with all three of his attacks.
