Less hurried, Chitleen slips under wicked spikes and tosses a vial at the archer. It explodes spewing acid over the gnoll though the spear carrier next to him ducks the chemical. Lockjaw finally clears the portcullis and grunts as he stands back up next to Karrak.

Tararr skirts the wall and then in a leaping spin deals a deathblow to the archer as the dwarf suddenly doubles in size.

Dropping one of his axes to the ground, Tararr doubles his grip on the remaining oneand prepares to finish the final gnoll.

The wailing zephyr sweeps over to the last of the oddly pierced gnolls and receives a slash from the spear as it closes, but in the next instant the gnoll is crushed as air, stone, and steel converge on him.

Tararr looks up from the fallen gnoll as further down the passage comes a hissing crocodilian bass roar and a pair of arrows strike him just before a monstrous frilled lizard rushes down the passage at the giant dwarf.

The giant lizard puts a claw upon the fallen paladin ready to rip him into bite-sized chunks when Daeron distracts it with a shot to the snout. The beast pulls back giving a bass roar and Tararr, now powered solely by rage cuts deep into its throat with his giant weapon.

Mankato is too late to the battle as the creature collapses tail whipping and smashing against the stout walls of the corridor before its life ebbs. Karrak moves up to render aid. I think Lockjaw is more needing at the moment.

From the dim light at the end of the chute, gnolls yip and yammer in disbelief as their champion beast has fallen. No more arrows fly as the craven scavengers flee their posts.

Male Elf Alchemist (Crypt Breaker) 5

Chitleen stands ready as the sounds gradually fade away and the death throes of the lizard quell to a lower ebb. He looks from his kin with undamaged skin, his own self-inflicted scratch to Mankato who has only suffered acid burns from his own hand... to the dwarves. Lockjaw and Tararr bleeding like stuck pigs and knee deep in their own gore. He raises an eyebrow and asks "Is this customary for dwarvish warfare? I had thought the competition might end with the comparison of beards... but is it also usual for you to tally your spilt blood also?"

As an aside he presses hands and bows an apology to Mankato "I am sorry for striking you with the acid sahib... I shall endeavor to be less careless"

A glance over the fallen gnolls reveals more arrows to be had. The archer again carries a composite bow and a score of well made arrows. Likewise his scimitar and chainshirt are masterwork dwarven construction. Mankato seems thoughtful for a moment before speaking again.
