In 4121 AR, the desert dwarves of the Barrier Wall Mountains sealed the famed Tar-Urkatha mine abruptly, saying only that one of the richest platinum mines in history had played out. Nearly six centuries later, the truth rises from the darkness.

I'm back. The *'s are school specialist spells which Daeron has to take, transmutation school. I'll edit the profile for easier spell checking.

Daeron clambers onto the roof, seeing a noosed priest battling for air whilst being clobbered relentlessly. Finding himself some room, Daeron slips his into his pouch while rubbing slick butter between his fingers, uttering smooth arcane words unremembered, silkily pointing an elven finger at Karrak's form. .

If Karrak goes down before Daeron manages to cast, he'd aim the grease at the attackers instead.

sounds like Mankato may be limited in his ability to post so i'll just cover him until we hear somthing. Daeron- thanks, you'd have to take an AoO to find a place to stand on the roof after Chitleen is up. you can still target the manbats from your location though.

Karrak falls as Mankato unleashes a flurry of blows against the nearest creature. Unfortunately, his strikes are blocked by chain armor. Lockjaw slings his shield on his back and puts his axe into a loop as he climbs the stairs behind Chitleen. The fragrant elf better prepares for his ascent this time and with a jump and a bounce he launches himself onto the roof behind Mankato. sure. action, Chitleen.

Male Elf Alchemist (Crypt Breaker) 5

With the roof crowded and it's integrity uncertain, Chitleen does not dare reach for alkahest. Instead his talwar flashes forth, seeking blood...

...and finding it, managing to nick his own leg.

Male Elf Wizard 3 (Transmuter-Enhancement) / AC13->17(mage armor) / HP23->full

How could Daeron avoid an AoO in this matter? Daeron's highly cautious nature would loath to give a free hit if he could avoid it. If none are available, he'll hang by the side and try to identify the creatures.

Knowledge, Dungeoneering?: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

Chitleen's tulwar flashes as he is in the action. Unfortunately, an unstable footing leads to a panicked thrust that slashes open his pant leg. A sheen of oil covers the northwest corner of the tower as Daeron casts his spell and nearly causes one of the manbats to slip. However the nimble creature retains its footing and both move on Mankato as the robed man behind them quickly binds the unconscious dwarf.

Dropping their saps, the beastmen revert to claw and fang. The first does slip in the oil as he attacks and though managing to stay up, his attacks are foiled. His companion however releases an assault of bestial fury biting and slashing the stoney monk. Mankato- 7 bite, 5 claw, 5 claw. fort DC 15.

Brother, this time we need silvered weapons to ensure a sound hit with our weapons.

Deducing the new combatants as werebats, Daeron calls out advice from a distance.

A brief whisper of words later Daeron covers his form with a shimmering field of force.

Daeron- in round 3 I had you cast gravity bow since I wasn't sure what you'd do. we could say you cast mage armor then and choose a new spell to cast this round if you like.

Daeron continues his arcane whispers and points to the robed man, occupied with tying up Karrak. Flares of arcane force unerringly erupts from his finger tips, striking him.

Lockjaw's blessed axe strike is not so easily ignored however. The creature emits an ear rending shriek and gawks in disbelief as cold iron hacks into its chest and the holy weapon foils his resistance.

Under attack from the stone monk and arcane missiles, the robed figures howls in outrage and hurls his robe back as he instantly transforms. As his face twists into the horrid visage of a vampire bat, he shares a look of recognition with Daeron and the elf realizes that this is the same shadowy figure that offered to guide them from the dwarf bridge, but disappeared with his family leaving only voracious bats to haunt the tower.

Now he launches into a flurry of claw and fang with his companion upon the flanked monk, who defends himself well enough only to receive a telling claw wound. Mankato-5 hp (@ 5/27)
