So we unstopped the waterfall and this level dried up a little bit. Since this portal seems to be the source, and we can't close it. How can we seal this room? Stone shape?


To be clear, those grates drain this room to someplace lower. Stopping them up will cause this level to fill up faster.

Frizz sees how far down the hall she can get before her lungs burst.

For each action you spend swimming, you move 5 feet on a successful Swim check or 10 feet on a critical success (barring really zippy land speed). This is still (slow-moving) water, so the DC is 10. So you'll move somewhere between 15 and 30 feet per three actions of movement. Since Frizz can hold her breath for 7 rounds, you'll move somewhere between 0 and 210 feet in that time.

Note that since there is a bottom you can walk on you don't technically have to swim. Should you plod along the bottom, I'll assume a movement rate of 5' for each action, no Athletics check required.

Say, do you possess anything that would be damaged or destroyed by water? Like, say, food? Scrolls? Your cotton candy collection?

Nope, everything but my combat gear is inside our bag of holding Lilika wears.

Lilika returns to the surface for a breath of air and takes off her magic backpack and cloak, handing it to Wymond. "I don't need light to see by. I'll check it out. Watch my stuff."

Then she pulls out the rope from her bag and ties it around her waist. She passes the other end to Wymond. "If I tug twice quick, pull me back."

She takes a few deep breaths in and out to prepare herself, then swims over to the flooded passage as long as she can without submerging. Finally, she dives below the water and swims down the flooded corridor.

She intends to swim for... four rounds and see if she's near an air pocket of some kind. If she is, she might go for it (depends how far it looks and what progress she's made so far. Otherwise she'll tug the rope twice and swim back while Wymond reels her in. If she reaches the end of her rope before hitting four rounds... Let me know and I'll see what her surrounding look like. She's only got 50 feet of rope.

Lilika makes little headway swimming and so soon turns to walking across the bottom, making slow but sure headway. The hallway's ceiling slopes down to the door, but then opens back up again. The hallway ends in a room some twenty feet beyond the door. The water is about 8' deep here and with a push Lilika is able to break the surface and take a deep breath.

That turns out to be less than enjoyable as the air is rank with the stench of rotting flesh. Dead sea life floats on the surface. Lilika can see water pouring from a grate in the northern wall. That cascade stirs up the silt in the room, making the water cloudy and difficult to see through.

Suddenly, the water swirls. Lilika is certain she's not alone!

The murk means concealment within 5', Total concealment beyond. You can't actually see any doors or portals marked on the map, since they're underwater.

Act fast, Lilika!
