It's just a few rooms away. You can go look after this, but I'd say that Perfire knows how to pronounce the rune (and the one for the level above) just from having studied them previously.

Oh! I thought you meant that this token had a single rune on it, and would take us to a specific level tied to that rune. I didn't realize that by holding it you could travel to the runes on any level of the dungeon that you've identified. Awesome.

As I said to GM, apologies for my absence, work and RL has been kicking my rear lately...

Yirik is impressed by the possibilities presented by the Spire token, "We'll have to be on the lookout for more of these..."

Yirrik , for now, takes up the Master's fine sword, and accompanies Wymond forward in investigating the closet...

A heavy, weighted net releases from the ceiling (it was obscured by a thin layer of plaster) and falls on Wymond, trapping him and also knocking him about!

Having spent a considerable amount of time in restraints of various kinds while a slave, Perfire takes a deep breath as the net drops on top of him. He falls to the floor with the net, allowing it to lay across his body. After the net has settled, he lets out a deep breath, slimming his already small frame, and begins to slide from beneath it.

Lilika raises an eyebrow at the bumbling fools around her. Half rolling around on the floor, and half tangled in nets....

She passes by the pig and walks along the wall towards the zombie.

Hopefully not getting tangled in a net of her own...

Then she throws one of her stones at it...

Used to fighting with two weapons, the big sword proves a bit awkward for Yirrik.

Using it's momentum, he allows it to travel back up into the air, then he levers it back down towards their adversary...

Yirrik slashes the bastard sword down on the prone body of the zombie, crushing bones and splitting flesh in a sickening thud. But still it wriggles on, leaping to its feet and slamming its fists down on Yirrik's chest!

With Perfire's help, Wymond finally wriggles out of the net.

He puffs his cheeks out and blows some air.

"Well, that was embarrassing."

Triath trots over and gives his charge a chiding grunt.

"Yeh, I know Ol' Deadeye'd want me te be humble, but I imagine he'd also want me to be somewhat useful."

Triath grunts some more, this time sounding more reassuring.

"Well, thank ye Triath."

He picks up his bardiche and takes a closer look at the closet the not-skeleton had popped out of.

I am SO disappointed with myself that I missed the chance to make a "AND THEN A SKELETON POPPED OUT!" joke.


Ya gotta imagine that opportunity will re-present itself at some point!

Lilika finds nothing of interest. It appears this room was just a set-up, like much of the rest of this level. What sort of person creates such a home? The undead creature...the Master... said it had been here for millennia. Is this what millennia alone does to you?

Finding nothing of interest, Lilika backtracks the way they had come, to check out the other door. She eyes it warily, alert for more traps...

The door creaks open.

The walls and ceiling of this room are hidden behind a thick, gray-white forest of spider webs that blocks all vision beyond ten feet. Webs are everywhere, creating a maze of vertical sheets. Gray, furry dust clings to the sticky, white webs. The desiccated, shriveled corpse of a long-dead man hangs spread-eagle across one of these layers of webbing, and rusty swords, daggers, and axes hang securely from others.

She draws her short sword and places the last magic stone in her pocket.

Being a woman who didn't own a torch, Lilika waits with her shortsword in hand to see if Wymond's going to actually do so, or is just talking about it...

Eventually she asks, "Are you going to..? I have nothing flammable to offer but my clothes." She consider them for a moment. Despite being filthy from blood and spider webs, her clothes are very fine. Featuring long sleeves and a high neckline, they're made of black silk, patterned with silver threads that glimmer in the light.

"I would prefer to keep them." she admits.

Then he goes over to the door and throws the torch into webbing.

Realizing the torch won't burn the whole room, Wymond grumbles as he goes into the room and picks up the torch again, drawing his sword so he's not unarmed while burning the webs.

He looks for where the webs are thickest and goes over to set it on fire.

Wymond clears a path several feet wide as he moves into the room. The area to the west is obscured, but he thinks he can make out a door to the south. The corpse is a dried out husk before him.

Perfire doesn't find anything of use on the body, but can see some weapons hanging here and there in the webs.
