consider Shikyo healed, at work and can't do it but plenty of charges available, both CMW and CLWS. Roll and let me know what is used. Alwyn will heal himself as well. 1st round will cast haste and start Bardic performance (IC) similar to last fight - last haste. Shikyo don't forget your CSW for the fight.

[oo]With an eight minute duration are my spells from the last combat still in effect and if so how much time is left on them? I'm not sure just how much time has passed since then.[/ooc]
Ikrimah |
Any minute duration buffs will be still up.
Thump! Scrape! Thump! Scrape! The multi armed statue drags the huge stone altar into the room. The moment it crosses the threshold, something weird happens. Miniature black and green lightnings start to crawl all over the alter and it begins to levitate. From no obvious source a disturbing and discordant chant arises. The words are in no language you've ever heard of, but somehow you know they are praising Dhalevi.
The statue guides the now floating alter into the very center of the room and stops. She turns to face you and stares in your direction, weapons at the ready. The altar itself has taken on a translucent jade like appearance, veined with pulsing darkness.
Behind her in the lotus position, glides a most peculiar looking man. He has a purple coat and leggings, sinuous bluish hair and an intricately tattooed face. When he speaks his voice is far deeper than you would have thought possible, "Bring them to the altar Sulukta, then we may begin. In pieces or otherwise, it matters not." Everything about him exudes menace, and when he looks in your direction, he seems to see right through you.
The statue stares hard at you and the cadence of the chant increases. You can't help but notice how beautiful the play of light and shadow surrounding the altar is. You wonder what it would be like to pass your hand through the shadows and touch it, how the stone would feel under your fingers. Would it be cold or would it be warm, like the body of a lover? You feel how right it would be to prostrate yourself in her presence, and lie down on the altar...
Everyone make a DC 18 will save, or you find yourself drawn towards the altar. Good RP gets a bonus at my discretion.
Pratavh |
Does the communal prot from evil protect us from this effect? It normally would if it's mind affecting but this might not be affected.
Pratavh Will Save: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Hirati Will Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Pratavh Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
Hirati Perception: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 25
Pratavh and Hirati both felt the pull of the alter, Pratavh knew about following order and tradition, he understood what it was to desire to submit to authority, he also knew that this was completely wrong and unacceptable. I will NOT fall prey to some dark goddess with a lust for lives! I will NOT BE BOUND![/ooc]
Hirati remembered the confines of the egg only vaguely, she remembered hatching and learning to live, she remembered her absolute desire to never submit to authority, and then she met Pratavh. He was a joy to harass, a pleasure to torment, and the first person she was ever willing to submit to, well, when it suited her. She also knew that this compulsion was not right, she wouldn't give in, and then she saw the eyes of the robed man and realized that her "Oh s~&&!" cries were even more urgent. She told her friends and playthings mentally, [i]Look at his eyes! I think he might be the DRAGON!
Pratavh gave the man a contemptuous look and said, "A nice try, too bad it will not work. I am glad to know that we will end the threat of your cult once and for all." Hirati, having done her good deed, slid down into his pack and hide.

will save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 whew
perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Alwyn takes in the scene as the statue first drags the alter inside the room and it them begins to float as the cat eyed freak floating along behind it, with the realization the alter was creating a chant of its own he quickly changes his mind.
"The companions once more must face their fears and overcome the evil that faces them. Sorceress and ghost could not overcome them, for even there a young one was rescued from the brink.
Bird of prismatic plumage but heart of the pure ebony could not their own hearts feather with shafts of darkest night.
The face changer, though fearfully covered with fur and claw ran blinded by the light once more into the night.
Take heart friends we will once more send this cat eyed freak and his guard back into the abyss they came from!
Alwyn starts his own bardic performance attempting to counter the alters own.
DM Fang Dragon |
Mechanically it's the sympathy spell albeit with a much lower DC than that spell would usually have. Sympathy is a compulsion rather than a domination and is therefor not affected by the double saving throw thing. You do gain +2 save however!
Going to wait on Lilly and Shikyo's rolls and reaction and then I suspect I'll be rolling initiative...
Edit: Alwyn was that countersong? If so make a perform check please.
Alwyn of the Brazzen Peaks |
Countersong(perform oratory): 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (17) + 16 = 33

Improved Iron Will!: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20 Whew, first time I've used that this whole module...
Shikyo takes a single step forward and then freezes...this is not what the Masters would want. This is not what Mohktar would want, Shikyo has vowed Root and Stem and he will not be dissuaded.
Shikyo's katana makes a sharp ringing sound as it slides free and he drops into a fighter's crouch....
Lilly Hennett |
Countersong negates the compulsion Shiko, awwesome bard quirk.
Will, prot from evil: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 8 + 2 = 27
Lilly gets a shiver, but more of anger than fear.
"That's the altar from my dreams, that thing is what gives these cultists their power!"
"BACK OFF!", Lilly yells at the hovering newcomr.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20
DM Fang Dragon |
Through stubborn will and the brave song of ser Alwyn, the heroes resist the siren call of the altar! Yet somehow it dominates the room, radiating menace. You know in your hearts that to touch it would be the last thing you ever did, before it devoured your soul...
Commanded by a master, the statue springs into action! Faster than you could have believed it she is upon you!
Initiative rolls:

He's floating about 6' in the air. You can reach him, but it'll be a bit awkward. I'll have look up the rules on this, I assume it's treated as if he is on higher ground.
Pratavh |
I believe the only thing this does for him is grant him a +1 attack bonus for being at a higher level.
Alwyn of the Brazzen Peaks |
hmm a might bit late for haste at the moment it appears
Spinning away to avoid the overly large guardian of the alter, Alwyn scampers toward the wall casting a quick spell as he reaches the square 2 south of Bvar should catch everybody -well sing next round sorry
acrobatics: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (14) + 16 = 30
cast haste
Pratavh |
Pratavh chants and gestures his hands weaving in and out as webbing filled the area in the middle of the room. It had plenty of places to anchor itself, including the later, the statue, and the floating man. With that accomplished he moved out of the small room and in to the main one.
Standard: Cast Web (dc 19 reflex to avoid being grappled)
Move: Moved myself already.
Hopefully that will help. And there's no SR even better.
DM Fang Dragon |
Waiting on Lilly. I will bot her soon if needed.
DM Fang Dragon |
Oops I initially thought the web was a good idea, but it seems events have conspired against you...
Alywn wisely darts away from the scary animated statue and casts HASTE!
Shikyo vanishes and moves behind the floating Ikrimah, ready to strike...
Pratavh casts a spell, suddenly sticky strands surround the altar and cover Ikrimah, Sulukta and the hidden Shikyo...
Reflex Ikrimah: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14 ---> FAIL
Reflex Sulukta: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (12) + 14 = 26 ---> PASS
Reflex Shikyo: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 6 + 1 = 18 ---> FAIL
Master Bvar needs no further encouragement, he sends a pair of shafts at the statue. To his horror she contemptuously bats both shafts away, hands moving faster than the eye can see!
Full attack, haste, deadly aim, point blank shot
Attack Sulukta: 1d20 + 10 + 1 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 10 + 1 - 2 + 1 = 23Damage: 1d8 + 7 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 4 + 1 = 15 ---> MISS
Hasted Attack: 1d20 + 10 + 1 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 10 + 1 - 2 + 1 = 14Damage: 1d8 + 7 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 7 + 4 + 1 = 17 ---> MISS
Lilly moves to flank with Shikyo and has to pass through the sticky web strands to do so...
Reflex Lilly: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 11 + 1 = 15 ---> FAIL
Ikrimah cackles gleefully, "Ha ha good one! But that won't stop Sulukta!" He peers down at Lilly, "Mind you it appears to have stopped your friend, and oh so close to the altar..." He licks his lips as he casually snaps the bonds holding him...
Ikrimah CMB Check: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (18) + 22 = 40
Dodging free of the sticky webbing, Sulukta launches herself at the one she deems the greatest threat. She punches hard with one massive granite fist as she lands next to Pratavh! It seems inevitable she will smack him silly, but at the last moment his blurry outline foxes her!
Punch: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (13) + 18 = 31Blur Miss %: 1d100 ⇒ 19Damage: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13 ---> MISS THANKS TO BLUR

Pratavh |
yeah, I placed it so people wouldn't be in it and you could get adjacent without entering. It seems people didn't move themselves when I had drawn the spell on there.
DM Fang Dragon |
Agreed this is unfortunate. Apart from the web I believe Shikyo is where he wanted to be (he didn't draw any movement arrows this time), and Lilly is now where her arrow pointed to, flanking. What do you guys want to do?
Pratavh |
I try not to take Shikyo ont account on Sep targeting since he goes invis and I can't see him. I could change my action I guess, but that spell seems my best move now since all of that becomes difficult terrain wether the save is made or not.
Alwyn of the Brazzen Peaks |
Alwyn begins to sing a merry jig as he ducks and spins away from the guardian, intent to remain out of her grasp.
"Though two stories high and wide as a house......."
acrobatics: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (12) + 16 = 28
round 3 of 23 bardic performance -IC
the map is slightly offset but Alwyn should be able to duck away and make it to the corner column on the SE side of the web
Pratavh |
K, so we're ignoring the fact he's invisible right now then? I'm just trying to stay with what we know IC vs OC. Unless we can see invis we don't know where he is exactly. I'm not trying to be difficult about it, but if we're ignoring that little issue then I'll simply change what I did, with Fang's permission of course.
DM Fang Dragon |
Right Lilly doesnt know where Shikyo is, but she doesnt have to. If Shikyo defers till after Lilly then he can complete the flank, no rules problems. The web is an irritation but it won't throw the fight and well you'll see...
Pratavh |
K then, I'll leave things as they stand. I just don't want us to screw ourselves because of something like this. Sounds like you have it in hand so I will trust you Mr. Fang Dragon Sir!
Alwyn of the Brazzen Peaks |
movement previously described has been marked on the map, should I have not been clear
DM Fang Dragon |
That's a good roll Alwyn, but Sulukta has an insane CMD. I'll post her stat block once this is over. Still trust me taking an AOO is preferable to a full attack.
Alwyn tries to duck and tumble away from Sulukta, but her reflexes are preternaturally fast! She lashes out with a longspear scoring a long scratch down Alwyn'a flank!
AOO: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (5) + 18 = 23Mirror Images, hit on a 1: 1d5 ⇒ 1Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Pratavh, Lilly & Shikyomaru are up.
Pratavh |
Pratavh found himself in a very bad place, the statue on top of him and ready to kill, his friends trapped in the web he placed, he did the only thing he could. While he chanted and gestured Pratavh was careful to constantly bob and weave so the statue couldn't pin him down and attack. When finished he turned invisible and quickly moved away from the statue.
Stnd: Cast Invis defensively, combat casting makes the check automatic.
Move: Already done, being invis should negate any AoO...I hope.

Lilly and Shikyo's swords pierce the floating Ikrimah multiple times, but it was like hitting thin air! An enigmatic and gravelly deep chuckle emanates from somewhere in the room, "He ahaha eehhe ah oh that's a good one! You thought it was me. All in good time, Master Kuro and Miss Hennett! All in good time! Sulukta drag them to the altar."
I'm supposed to allow you will saves to disbelieve the illusion now you interacted with it. Not going to bother you *know* it's an illusion.

Ah I missed that Lilly. I shall add inspire to Bvar's attacks next round. Wouldn't have made a difference this round as Sulukta has a fairly high AC.

Pratavh |
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Pratavh thought to Hirati, Pass this on to the others, he is somewhere in the north half of the room, likely flying, he also does not plan to come down and get involved yet as he is enjoying the show the statue is giving him too much. If we destroy the statue we'll draw him out. He is also quite insane. The little dragon nodded her understanding and passed the information on before ducking back down in the bag. The message passed on Pratavh focuses and begins emitting an aura of prescience to his companions giving them hints about what to do.
