Fort Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 Going to assume that makes it.

A little confused by the quickling's location. He started adjacent to Aod, then ran in a circle to use stealth and attacked Aod again. Is he back next to Aod? I'm not sure you can spring attack a target you start next to.

He ran behind the pillar so he could get total cover and use stealth. He then came out, attacked, and ran away behind the pillar again. He has Spring Attack and 120 foot speed.

"Ok, that does it! You've made me mad." Aod face turns to a tightly controlled scowl as he follows the fey, trying to corner it. "Someone get over here and keep it from runnin!"

Double move to 21AF. Activate Controlled Rage for +4 strength. 3/5.

DM:
Feral, I'll accept your ruling because it's a cool idea, but from I understand Spring Attack does a limitation.

"As a full-round action, you can move up to your speed and make a single melee attack without provoking any attacks of opportunity from the target of your attack. You can move both before and after the attack, but you must move at least 10 feet before the attack and the total distance that you move cannot be greater than your speed. You cannot use this ability to attack a foe that is adjacent to you at the start of your turn." (emphasis mine)

Personally, I wish it worked a little different because I'm about to throw a quickling at the players in my Kingmaker game, but if you run this at a Con you'll probably get called on it.

Oh, I missed that part. In that case, Maarv takes the damage and makes the save (we’ll use Aod’s roll and assume he made it).

Maarv, thank Aod for throwing you under the bus. =)

The quickling dodges the hurled bomb with ease.

Touch AC 19. =(

Reflex with Evasion: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

And entirely avoids the blast.

Eredax and Bo'alo are up.

Sorry Maarv. :(

Hmmm, fighting is not my thing boys :D Bless is still up correct?

Eredax steps forward (AB21), and channels energy to make sure his allies are all up to the fight.

Channel Energy for 1d6 with Selective channel.

Channel: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Scarab Sages

Alchemist 8 (Grenadier) | HP: 45/59 [0] | AC: 28* | T: 17* | FF: 22* | Perc: +13 | Fort: +11* | Ref: +15* | Will: +5* | CMB: +8 | CMD: 23* | Speed: 30 | Init: +5* | 3/16 Alch. Bombs Left

So, Maaarv takes 3 damage, yes? But then is healed of those by Eredax? And no problem, Aod. Also Feral, I figured the Touch AC would be high.

Grand Lodge

Male Mwangi Human Pistolero Gunslinger 1/Drunken Master Monk 1 (HP 17/17; AC 17/FF 10/ T17; F +5; R +7; W +5; Init +9; Perception +8)

I thought I cast a silent image over the box last time. I am a little confused as how that came up as a binding darkness casting.

This time seeing as how the magic didn't work last time I will cast color spray on the quickling.

I read your post as that being your action if Aod’s attack dropped the quickling. It did not. I gave you time for a new action and you didn’t post one so I NPCed you to keep things moving.

Also, Bo’alo would know that an illusion won’t work to keep sunlight off of the stone.

Will: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

The quickling shrugs off the blast of shadows and darts away again.

AoO: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
Damage: 1d10 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

Only to be caught by the ulfen’s blade. The small elfin figure tumbles to the ground and a cylindrical-shaped stone tumbles from his grasp. It literally pulses with shadowy energy.

Scarab Sages

Alchemist 8 (Grenadier) | HP: 45/59 [0] | AC: 28* | T: 17* | FF: 22* | Perc: +13 | Fort: +11* | Ref: +15* | Will: +5* | CMB: +8 | CMD: 23* | Speed: 30 | Init: +5* | 3/16 Alch. Bombs Left

Maaarv rushes forward and picks up the cylindrical stone from the ground. He examines it, having never before seen anything like it. After a bit, he remembers that if what he has is the lodestone, he should keep it out of the sunlight. He stuffs the stone into his trousers pocket.

And no sooner is the Lorestone hidden from the sun's breaking rays as the shadowy First World tendrils, disappear from sight.

Encounter over.

Aod releases his rage in a long breath, then sheaths his sword and walks over to where the sprite is sleeping. Taking a sack from his backpack, he puts her in headfirst, then ties the opening tight around her waist.

"D'ya suppose that quick little bastard was Cyflymder, or should we put this other one to the question?" He asks his companions.

The sprite from Hemzel's hut arrives a moment later looking anxious but then quickly relieved when she sees the party alive and the quickling vanquished.

"That's him", she says with a solemn nod. "That's Cyflymder."

***

With the Lorestone in hand, the party begins the long trek back to Absalom and back to the Grand Lodge. After a quick debriefing, it's taken and stored in one of the Lodge's many secure vaults, to be locked away for study and safekeeping. "It'll take years to unlock its mysteries without Hemzel", Venture Captain Hamshanks says sadly. "But you did good getting it back to us."

The party gets notice from some locals, that with Cyflymder’s defeat, peaceful druidic activity has resumed. There's hope that the loggers and hunters living in the area can work things out with the capricious fey but as explorers push ever deeper into the dark groves, friction is bound to flare up again.
