Aclias - The Ice Age (Inactive)

Game Master RelicBlackOUT

In the creation of a homebrew world, Aclias, there must be a beginning. This is that story. It takes place on the northern most nation on Aclias, The Frozen Crown.

~Disclaimer: This will always be edited and grown as the campaign grows. I am using this to build this continent from the first age.~

This campaign will take place on the northern most continent on Aclias, The Frozen Crown. The Frozen Crown gets its name from the shape for the continent. It is a snow covered crescent moon shaped land. There are three main locations on this continent that are home to the humans and half-orcs that live there. Ragland, the capital, and Sanduik and Halsar which are fishing villages.

Each town survives because everyone pitches in. The hunters work with the tanners and the weapon makers to turn their kill into things used around the community; armor, weapons, tools, leather for the buildings/huts, etc. Everyone has a profession that helps add to the wellbeing of the community.

Ragland:
Ragland is the capital city of this continent with a population of 3200. The location of Ragland is on the coast at the middle of the inner side of the crescent. The mass of the population lives on the coast, but there is a small segment of the population who live in the castle that is built into the mountain. To enter into the castle you need to pass through the exposed stronghold, but most are not allowed to pass.

The coastal town is made up of 3000 people.

Notable People:
King Björn Frostbeard: The King gained his name and lordship thirty years ago. Björn was out on his whaling ship bringing in a whale when it was attacked by a creature of the ocean. Every man was killed and his ship was destroyed. He washed ashore alive and told his tale of how he battled the beast. He told of how a great worm like creature came forth from the water and attacked the whale they were bringing in. A blizzard came from his mouth and froze the whale and shattered the ship.

Since captivating the people of his battle against the ice worm he gained rulership. From that moment he gathered the villages of Ragland, Sanduik, and Halsar and united them under his authority, growing Ragland as his capital city.

Sanduik:
Sanduik is a small town with a population of 1040.

Halsar:
Halsar is a small fishing town with a population of 890.

Notable People:
Brynhild: She is a lumberjack who is Ungrims partner in the woods.
Sigurd: He is the leader of the hunters.
Rollo: He is one of the hunters. Ungrim faced off against him in the pit and he gained much respect among the hunters.
Geir: He is an elder of this village. He has been operating the mill since his father passed when he was a youth. His daughter, Freydis, has taken over all of the main duties at the mill but Geir is still in charge.
Hilde:She is the only blacksmith in the village. She is currently looking for an apprentice, possibly a good way to learn a new skill and make some tools and weapons.

There are outlining villages and tribes outside of these three main towns, but these are the only true structured towns.

House Rules:

Heal Checks: When you make a heal check with a healers kit you will be able to gain a little bit of health back. DC15 gain 1d4 HP back. For every 5 that you beat the DC by you gain an extra 1d4 HP back.

There will be things I roll on the side while posting to help keep things fluid, mainly perception checks. It will be nothing that will be done to hinder you and you will always be able to make your own checks if you would like.

During combat, unless something is specifically being stealthy (see above rule about me rolling behind the scene), the players will always go first then the bad guys. There is no real order in who goes first when it comes to players, its just whoever post first. Because of this there is no need to take feats or traits that bump your initiative. Do not lap other players, if a player is taking longer than a day I as the DM will take their turn for them and it will be something that the character would typically do on its own.
