Zum zum, I is here.
After redoing a couple of things last night, my damage is over 500k on my main DH. Still looking for the uber weapon, but for now, okay with a socketed 2400k crossbow...
I've been using Cull the Weak with Web Shot rapid fire for the +20% bonus. Last night showed me how weak that was, as I was an amazing single shot killer, but could not do dink in group combat.
After the tinkering last night, my crit is at 47.5% and bonus damage at +415%. That means that Sharpshooter, which gives you a +4% crit bonus, improving every second until you crit, is basically giving me a flat across the board 16.6% damage buff, increased if I don't shoot anyone for a few seconds.
I think I can do that.
Back to fire grenades!
I really think we should have a voice chat so we can work better in groups. I might have to swap skills around, too. For instance, Marked for Death is awesome for group games, as it gives everyone the bonus to kill a target. Solo, not so much, as you need to have an array of escape, evasion and recovery skills to solo effectively.
I'm perfectly happy to swap skills around for working with a group and synergizing, but I don't know what people would like a DH to have/use in a group situation.
I do know that if someone else is slowing an enemy, I can put in Cull the Weak and get an instant +20% damage buff, etc. It's not so much optimizing as figuring out the configurations we can use to help one another in groups...y'know, like an MMO. The ability to swap almost on the fly is soooo nice now.
Oh, and as for salvaging. I build up a reserve of 1000 salvage goodies (arcane dust and reusable etc) and then stopped salvaging them. The best place to get tons of white salvage is the Corvus dungeons in the blood swamp...basically every Ancient Weapon holder coughs up something white for you, and you get 5-10 units per weapon.

Wee! Last night I got my crusader to 20. Found a decent crushbane from a tree monster near the kazra den. With the crusader able to 1h a 2h weap when wielding a shield is fun. I just need to get to 41 so I can use my butchers cleave r that has a -20 odd level req. Its currently +14000% over that ilvl 16 crushbane. Fun fact: no lvl req on imperial gems in a ilvl 20 armor!

Lots of rifts running with Macharius tonight.
On average? 100 million a run. Died a couple times...I was up to 270 million reserve bonus xp at one point!! One boss went berserk below 5% life and just started stomping everybody. Was kind of funny.
Over the course of today I probably made 7 million gold, and I spent 6 of it. Bleh. I've over 100 rubies waiting to be assembled, and almost 100 diamonds. even doing bounties, I'm just not earning enough cash. And it's with boosted gold find, too!
Meh.

Three people is a +50% xp bonus over doing solo. And the pace is MUCH faster, at least with Mach's crew. That being said, everything also has at least double hit points, maybe triple. It takes a Looooooong time to kill stuff.
I'm wearing Tyrael's Breastplate atm. In addition to the standard fare, +17% damage against demons! Granted, there aren't enough demons around for me to totally enjoy this, but it's another nice little bit of damage on top of the stack.

Yeah, we like blowing through rifts. :) Especially with three or four people, it's a really fun way of
Over the course of the weekend, my Crusader went from character-sheet Damage of 110,000 to 305,000 - mostly due to having a Mortal Drama drop. I'm going to try Torment 1 solo and see how it goes next weekend; he's still weak on crit chance/crit damage so will probably get smoked.

Mach, I'll have you know that when I started my DH on Torment 1 right after the patch, I had 420k or so damage, and I couldn't handle some of the encounters.
GRANTED...I was a lot squishier (40k life vs 400k life, for starters).
With the right set of rings on, I can now hit 674k damage on my DH. I, too, am going to try a Torment 1 solo and see what happens.
Um, after I go through more Rifts. I've got like 140 stones waiting to be used. Eesh.

Last night was a bunch of Torment 1 or 2 Rift runs, and like 12 dispersal bounty hunts.
I'd never been on the latter. What you do is take the bounty down to low difficulty so you can kill things fast (esp with 4 people doing this).
Pick Act 2 bounties, because they are generally the quickest to do.
Everybody picks a different bounty. You race off in all directions to do the bounties as fast as possible.
This usually means everybody gets a bounty done, and then teleports to the last bounty, which is usually a 'Find X dungeon, run through it to the end, and clear level 2' type. You generally pick up no loot except stuff which stacks, because you get too full too fast. As soon as you do the last bounty, you teleport back to town, talk to Tyrael, everyone logs off, and you repeat. Generally, you can get a bounty set done in 10 minutes or so every time.
You want fast movement, of course...barbs excel at this cause they can run through everything fast. I, on the other hand, have a pair of boots on that let me run right through mobs, and not be blocked...so I don't have to fight anything I don't want to.
It's funny that you can usually run around a map and kill 150 monsters + your target faster then you can find a dungeon, run through it to the end, and wipe the end out. Heh!
We did a bunch of those types of things, racked up a lot of Nephalim rewards, got some legendaries, then took a break for some rifts.
Man, when some of those summoned bosses go berserk, everybody dies. We had a death maiden come in who wiped everyone. We also had a Crawler come in who was an incessant summoner...swarms of electric eels, gnats, and energy twisters going off all the time. And with 3-4 guys on Torment, even the little guys are NOT quick kills. He ended up wiping us all, too, bloody twisters...
and, yeah, 1,314,000,000 Health or thereabouts on these guys. Ugh. yes, even with uber damage, it takes a while to kill them.

I really want to get my crusader up to 70. I'm having so much fun with him (Hard Diff). Its like they combined all the crowd control I loved with the barb and the aoe output of the wizard. Found a 1os 1h unique sword last night (right after transmuting a Scrimshaw 1h spear three times to get an os) and tossed in a marquise ruby. Bumping over 6K damage on my 35ish guy, went from three-four hitting normal mobs to three or four hitting elites. Belial was major joke. Hoping to get through the back half of a3 tonight and into a4 and up to 41 so I can equip that Butcher's Cleaver for craziness. Though the attack speed may still have me killing more stuff faster with a decent 1h weapon over the cleaver. Time will tell.
Maybe I should bump the diff up beyond hard for the rest of the campaign for him. Might try that tonight and see.

I took a short break from homework last night to do a bounty on Torment 1 with my crusader. It went pretty well, I only died on the Act 3 Keywarden. It was slow going, though, so I will continue doing rifts to build up gear before playing solo.

![]() |

woo patch notes!
single target generators have gotten damage boosts! huzzah. still won't make me switch for my barb or crusader tho... although the bash bump will help with my boss fight loadout (45% damage bump, 5% stun bump on clobber).
also, no more low level farming malthael, as you have to kill him first in campaign before he'll drop any loot.

Macharius |

I don't know, Ael. Given the Magic Find rate on Normal, you're probably fine... which comes with the caveat that I got a "lego" two-handed sword last night while playing Normal for one set of bounties. The random number generator failed me hard on the stat rolls so it's basically vendor trash, but if I can get a socket after two or three rerolls of Intelligence I may consider having my crusader use it. It will be hard to give up his Mortal Drama, though!
Speaking of, my crusader found Odyn Son a couple days ago. I gave it to my barbarian, who now has two legendary one-handed maces which both needs to have stats rerolled to get a socket... which is ungodly expensive in gold I don't frigging have!!
Which proceeds to the question of what people find to be the most efficent method of gold-farming. Bounties on Normal, Campaign on Master/T1, T2 rifts?

Aelryinth RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16 |

Well, to put it mildly, if you can do rifts with speed, blood shards represent a LOT of gold.
Every gold item you get is 3-5k gold, right? So completing a Rift is usually 40-55 blood shards. Buy a cheap item from Kaldana, convert them all to gold. This is all on top of the gold drops and magical drops from all the elites and stuff, of course.
nephalem rewards tend to be heavy on the gems and stackables, not cash items.
Speed running bounties can get you 20-50k per bounty fairly quickly, which is great if you're in a group situation. Solo it's a bit slower. I think when we were group Bounty hunting there we were doing a bit over 500k an hour.
So, I would say doing group bounties is #1 in gold, and selling lots of blood shards for cash loot is another. Completing Rifts for shards generates cash...the normal killing is not really that much better then normal fighting, although you do encounter more elites with guaranteed drops.
Campaign, definitely low on the scale.

Aelryinth RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16 |

I haven't played a crusader yet, do they give out any kind of group buffs?
The group buff for a DH is basically limited to Marked for Death and the wolf howl of that companion.
Played last night with a group. If we stayed together and assaulted stuff as a group, it died pretty fast, as should be expected.
If we got split up, everything took a whole lot longer and was much more annoying.
The monk life aura regen/heal on hit was much more useful then a damage buff. Keeping everyone alive and in the game usually works better then just upping damage.
We got Icezelion 3 levels in about an hour of 3 rift runs. had to upgrade from master to torment because Master was too easy. torment1 was just about right, probably because we're not optimized on the teamwork side of things.
I'm pulling 750k with recent upgrades to rings and amulet. All I need is a great weapon and I'd break 800k easily. Technically I can do so with elemental mods, but that's secondary. 55% crit and +490% crit damage FTW!

I'd played a little bit of Diablo 2, and decided to give it a decent go this time.
I got up to the end of act 1... and died in the depths of the monastery to a huge mob of elites. I respawned... with no money and gear? Uh. Okay. I tried to sneak back to my corpse and got rushed and died.
Now what? :(

Tangible Delusions |

We've been doing T2 runs with a monk (me) and a Witch Doctor. So far they have run fairly smooth for us.
We dipped our toe into T3 last night and while we progressed, it was slow and painful so went back to T2 runs for now.
The changes with the expansion has made this game fun and glad I decided to take the leap of faith purchasing it after the patch changes before it came out.

Rakshaka |

Sorry I've been soloing guys, I'm trying to get my level 60 guys (everyone but Demon Hunter and Crusader) to beat Act V so I can change up the charac ter to fit whatever party is doing Nephalim runs. I think a party of 2 Monks and 2 Crusders would be pretty disgusting; lots of overlapping aura potential. Until then, the Hellfire Ring I got before the expansion is at least making the leveling quicker.
Speaking of which, has anyone had any body-part drops for crafting the Hellfire ring? Anyone know what the new difficulty has to be to get the drop (I'm guessing Torment)?

Aelryinth RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16 |

I've gotten one Key since the patch.
They only drop on Torment level, and I'm assuming the drop rate is 20% per Torment level (as Torment scales 1-5 instead of 1-10).
To get into the Clan, look up Pathfinder in the clan listings, and send a message to the officers asking to be recruited. It's pretty much that easy. Umbral Reaver started it, and I'm an officer, too, we can both admit you.
If you need help in game, I'm going to go out on a limb and say our 'best' player is Afroken, who has managed to get some great gear, has his tactics cold, and really knows how to work a keyboard. We go T1 with him and he basically wipes the map while we try to keep up with him. He's doing something like 750k damage with +87% fire playing a demon hunter build, and he just rips through stuff.
I just got me a nice legend Hand crossbow with a socket, and it makes a huge difference over my Hellrack. The high rate of fire means I get Hatred back faster, and procs (Heal on Hit mostly) go off more.
Getting the assortment of legendaries that will really up damage is going slow, however. My best combo is Ring of Jordan (cold) and frost bracers, I really don't have anything else that is stacking the damage.
I've got an Andariel's Helm that buffs poison, and a belt that buffs lightning. It's REALLY annoying.
I've gone from WEb shot/Rapid Fire to frost elemental arrow. The single target damage isn't as good, but for wiping numbers of enemies? Wow, what an improvement. Line them up and mow them down. It's really helping me clear maps faster.
I have the Quiver that ups Hungering Arrow pierce chance by 24%. I'm using the base 50% piercer, which means a 74% chance to pierce. I'm pretty sure that the regression is 1/1-.74, or 1/.26, which is about +384% damage boost to the base 155%, or 592% of base damage, which is about 790%. The Stone of Jordan gives me +25% against elites, which is extremely helpful. WIth the speed buff, I'm at about 2.2 shots/second, which means I can have three hungering arrows in the air at one time.
I'd say on average, each Hungering arrow pierces 3 times, and I've seen six and more.
Many thanks to Ikitclaw. We knuckled down together on sunday, and played barbarian and monk from 60 all the way to 70. We had to go down to expert level to make good headway once we hit the swamp, but we got both of our guys to 70. He got a polearm which summons axe-wielding cows, and I got Azurewrath, which does +20% cold and area damage to undead. WIth a Level 60 Cold Stone of Jordan and cold bracers, I started rocking the cold techniques and that helped immensely, especially the Cyclone effect wearing away at mobs.
And thanks to DasBulk, who came in for the Maltheal encounter, which we upgraded to Torment1, which meant the rare Maltheal dropped for us was a set piece! Mine wasn't exactly useful, but it was still great for him to lend us a hand. Both of the other guys got killed by area damage and I had to finish the last 30 million hp alone, and actually managed to do so!
And, oh yeah, I got the Kuuhl-Aid Legend...which replaces your potions with a reusable one, AND allows you to bust through walls for 5 seconds after a drink. I need, like 6 of those. Walls and arcane dynamos are the biggest combo that kill me.

Aelryinth RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16 |

Oh, and I still haven't leveled up my Crusader. Even created him, or set aside level 1 gear for him. :P So I still have no idea what they can do.
Ikitclaw and I did good with a Crusader/DH pairing. he was good at mob clearing and I was good at single target wipes. Once we started gelling I don't think we died once in 5 Rift runs.
I usually solo on T1 with my main DH, I can group t2 okay, but t3 seems to defeat me. Until I can pull an Afroken and get my bonus damage to +50% and higher, I'm pretty much restricted to t1 for speed and ease of play solo. He's also much better at tactics and moving around the screen then I am, which definitely helps his style!

Enchant so it's all the same damage type? Admittedly I've spend more gold than I "should" on it, but when it comes to legendary items that have almost everything you need but that one thing on it could be better... it's worth it (especially to get a socket in a Warmonger, say).

Aelryinth RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16 |

Oh, I do, I do.
Last night I got lucky and I got the broach that turns arcane damage into healing. It's got a +19% poison kicker!
So it doves with the helm of Andariel, and I've got bracers that will complement it.
I do not, however, have a Stone of Jordan with a poison kicker. I have 2 level 60's, fire and cold, and a level 70 that is also cold. I'm using the latter now on my DH. The problem is that my base amulet is +9.5 crit and +92% crit damage, and it's like +15% better then any of the cold amulets that I have, so it's not worth subbing in.
And attempting to turn the stone of Jordan to cold will cost a cool 1 million gold per attempt, because of the Topaz cost. Ugh.
I've really been enjoying Frost elemental arrow mowing down rows of baddies, too. The Ring of Jordan's damage bonus against elites is just awesome. I can usually kill a swarm of blues before they even get to me on Master, and that's if I don't bother to evade or drop a Shade on them. When I run out of mana, I put three Hungering arrows in the air at one time and they're swarming all over the screen like wasps killing stuff. It's great.

Big thanks to Ikitclaw, who logged in, saw I was slowly leveling up my Crusader, and had me start a game at Torment6. I then followed him around until I was level 60!!! (HOMG you level fast at Torment6).
Of course I kept dying to idle side blows, but that's a different thing.
Now I just got to get proper gear on him. Level 60 with 75k DPS isn't really going to last too long! :)
Of course, I'm also completely unfamiliar with most of the Crusdaer skills because I just bypassed the 'learning levels', but that's fine. It was going to be a long hard slog regardless.
Oh yeah, blew through 14 million in gold, too. Ugh. It takes a long time to earn back 14 million in gold. What am I going to do with over 200 rubies?

Aelryinth RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16 |

Well, had a long couple of days here. Today, it was all my DH. I cleaned out a lot of stuff from my chest, moved it onto characters, or got rid of it.
Still got too much! heh.
But, I have lucked into a devastating combo for my DH.
The new crossbow I have has the special power of : All your attacks pierce Twice.
That's kinda nice, that's like a soft penetration, cool...
Um, waitasec. Guaranteed piercing? For hungering arrows>? For DEVOURING Arrow (that's the one that gets +70% damage for each pierce)?
And the 9 Cirrus Quiver granting +24% to pierce chance after that?
It's physical damage, and I don't have a lot of stuff that pumps it, but I put on bracers, went to pure crit and dex, and tried this out.
HOMG.
Guaranteed 3 hits per shot, 57% for 4, 30ish for 5. If the 5th shot is a crit, it's like 6k.
So, like, it's 900k, 1.5mil, and 2.5sh mil...every shot. Of Auto hit, fire and forget damage.
On top of this, there's a 10% freeze chance, AND the helmet I'm wearing has a 40% Blinder built into it. Things get hit multiple times, they are also proccing my heal on hit with every single contact.
I ran though all Act 5 bounties on Torment and didn't die once. Annoying things like angels and bats and firebomb mages that dart around? No problem. One shot, they die every time. The Butcher? He managed to swing at me ONCE...and I had 100% dodge for that one. Rift Guardians? Cut them down in half the time I used to, and most of the time they're spinning around blind.
And I don't even use the +25% Crit against bosses skill on 'em. (tho I should).
If I had a Physical Ring of Jordan, or a legend amulet with a Physical kicker, this would just be insane.
On torment level, it's basically one shot for any wimpy monster; two for medium; and 3 for the big tough guys. If I get 4-5 pierces, take off one...because the 4th and 5th pierces do as much damage as the first 3 put together.
I still have my hand crossbow, which does more raw damage on start up, but, like, wow.
You get to fire a Hungering Arrow at 155% damage, + Pierce Chance of 33 or 50%. I get to fire a Devouring Arrow at 155, 264, and 447. Guaranteed. THat's right, Guaranteed 860%, no Hatred, repeating attack. Oh, and with a 57% chance of 761%, and a 30% chance of 1295%.
With Blind, freeze in place, and Heal on Hit of 12k with every pierce.
Definitely a tank build for a DH. Crazy effective. I may start slapping on my Gold mail to see if it makes a dif when hunting for cash...
---
Afroken got his Royal Ring (the one that counts as a set item for all sets, advancing the set by 1...the Horadrich cache rare). He's advanced his Captain Crimson and Natalya's set. Lowers resource cost and cooldowns. He can now get off 10 Cluster arrows, which he's got a +87% or so Fire kicker for, before he runs out of hatred.
His crit with those things is about 12-14 million, I believe. When we Rift with him on t1, basically everyone just runs after him and scoops up the loot while he kills everything as swiftly as possible. He's soooo bloody good at racing around and shooting stuff...
I played Master Rifts with 4 people, and the difference in hit points with the monsters was noticeable, higher then t1, took longer to kill them. But it wasn't that awful. I can definitely mow my way through t1 solo without a problem.

75K will do you alright for the crusader until expert difficulty, at least it did me. I'm running somewhere a bit over 100 at 64, and not having any problems other than duration to kill bosses.
There is one of the heavenly fire runes that gives a bigger area, it is one of your best kill abilities, as it follows enemies, and tears bosses up. I'm currently running with smite, slash, judgement, condemn, crit % aura, and heavenly fire, only dieing against annoying bosses like the Butcher 2s before he died from my lingering dps.

I have now discovered that gems only stack to 270!
Why? because I now have at least 270 of every gem except emeralds! I literally do not have enough money to keep up on anything except emeralds, esp if I want to tinker and stuff.
ugh.
Can anyone confirm if your gold find can exceed the limit for the level? Because if you hover over gold find on Torment, it tells you +300 automatic, your gold find cannot exceed 300%. Mine's at like +426, I'd like to know if I'm actually getting the benefit of it.
Which makes gold find absolutely worthless if it does not stack. The goldskin armor is worth less then the gauntlets that make gold fall from the sky.
==========
I upgraded to Torment 2, and did a full cycle of bounties and rifts. Did not die once (360 million in yellow pool bonus xp to confirm it). I traded my main Hatred user of rapid fire for multishot, so I can thin down the lower level mobs.
I killed the Butcher, the Skeleton King, Cydea, Ghom, Azmodan, Izual and Diablo, as well as numerous Riftwardens, golds, etc.
The blinding function of my helm basically was the key. A single target had almost no chance to get past the 30% blinding from 3 hits per shot gtd, which basically means they stood there and I killed them. Ghom was like 300 mil hp and I killed him in under 30 seconds.
Yes, I DID move to take the +25% crit chance against loner skill from level 70. That means every shot against spread out creatures is 76% to crit, with +490 bonus damage. In a boss fight, the difference is stark when 3/4 of your shots are all crits. The damage swing is amazing. +25% to crit basically puts me right around 2 Million BASE DPS against lone foes...x8.6 for the Devouring Arrows.
I'll be trying Torment 3 soon, and seeing how far I can take this. The rub, tho, is that dropped gold is not how you make your real money. Your real money at level 70 is from selling Gold Magic items for 3-5k a pop, and from doing bounties quickly. Moving up to Torment 3, if I can still kill quickly, will help me gain xp faster, but won't do a whole lot if the dropped gold is just not amazingly better.
And now, I just got the Cloak of the Garwulf. It's the one that gives you 3 wolf companions instead of one. That's additional blockers and lures to keep foes off me, which gives me time to kill them.
Yes, I know I'm tedious, but I love the math behind the game. I didn't truly consider the implications of the final DH skill until I thought about the LAST monster was always going to get it from me, and any monster sitting out there alone (think wasps), as well as any solo encounter bosses. They were all going to get the shaft. I had to give up the enhanced movement of tactical advantage, but so far it's worth it.

I went from 21 million gold all the way down to 7 mil gold leveling up my crusader and other stuff.
I spent the last two days running bounties and rifts, and worked all the way back up to 19 million gold.
I then did my emeralds and some tinkering and am down to 10 million gold again.

okay, gems stack over 270. The RNG was playing games on me...I had 3 different stacks of gems at 270 at the same time, and thought there were extras. Nope, they were imperials.
hacking through bounties with my crusader looking for my Ring of Royal Granduer. I don't know what I'm going to do with it when I get it, but that's okay, I still want it!
He's at 64 and up to 240k DPS. Trucking along killing Aranea and the butcher over and over.
Have to get some gear that enhances Blessed Hammer, so's I can use the high level passive in conjunction.
Hopefully I'll be able to keep a weapon that does holy damage to keep advantage of that passive, too, and not rely just on skills.

So, tried out Torment 3 last night to see if I could hang there.
I was a little squishy, especially to area effects (orbits killed me twice, didn't see them drifting up, and frost pulse once).
In short, I'm more fragile against non-directed attacks, but monsters trying to reach me and fight? It didn't really happen. With 4 blockers, good heal on hit, and averaging 8+ million damage a shot, I didn't have much to fear even from the high tier averaging 43 million hp. Bosses had 170 or so, and I could still lock them, and 500 mill hp rift guardians died alone, too.
And then Afroken joined in, running all over the screen and unloading bloody cluster bombs and reaping a harvest while not getting hit by anything. I was steadily killing everything and he was nova-bombing everything, getting his hatred back, and repeating.
Heh.
I think that Riftwarden map was worth 500k gold on T3, too.
My best litmus test is always if I can solo a goblin before it can get away. I generally didn't have a problem doing that unless it ran into the middle of packs of creatures which diluted the damage I was doing so much it could get away. What is interesting is that while you can't Stun a Goblin, you can Freeze it, and you can Slow it.

Had a good night yesterday, but a rough night for my buddy, who's spent a fair amount of time hunting keys for the new Infernal Portal. Well, we proceeded to open portals, with him using 3 of his and me using my sole set to get all four portals up. Suffice to say, the new realm is really difficult, with the boss spawning numerous other bosses as part of the fight. At any rate, after all four realms, I ended up with 3 out of the 4 pieces needed for a new Hellfire ring, while my buddy didn't get a single one. I feel bad, so I'm questing for keys again so we can give it another go. I'm assuming the drop rate is 25% for Torment 1, but don't know if other things effect it. I'm doing okay, with Sharpshooter giving my Demon Hunter 750K in dmg, so Torment 1 is still do-able.

Haven't tried them, I still have 3, so assuming my buddy is playing later tonight, I may try them out then as a consolation for the lack of drops earlier. My theory is that it will open random portals to the first three and then I'll need the new keys to make the portal for the last realm. We will see...

mmm> So, I'm on t3, doing bounties on Act 2. I port away just as I happen to notice a cursed chest. That's a fast 4 mil xp, so I return to the area and find the chest.
It's in a little cul-de-sac. I assume this will be one of those small "kill these guys who pop up" ones, and I hit it.
Um. Sand sharks. Arcane. Walls. Cold. Elites, 4 of them, in this little tight space.
In two seconds, I was walled in, and six frost explosions went off and wiped me before I could get away.
Yep, that was a good chest to avoid. I wrote off the 10k fee to my gear, another yellow pool of xp I had to regain, and went on with life.
hehe.

So, old keys only work for the old body parts. My buddy and I ended up getting two random body parts for a ring that can no longer be crafted. I wish they'd lumped them together with the new ring... unless anyone knows a way to get the Keywardens to drop the old keys instead of the new.
On Cursed Chests: The one I opened last night (searching Act 2 for keywarden) summoned Ghom, like at full powers. I did not succeed at the time limit in killing him, suffice to say.

I've killed the full strength Ghom on Torment 1 with the timer, but haven't met him at higher levels...except in his Rift Guardian format, of course, which is REALLY irritating because the poison clouds stick around for like 2 minutes after he dies, which makes picking up the loot he leaves behind quite the chore.
And yeah, I find the yellow ones fairly quick, too. It's just I got a little teary when I had 360 million xp of reserve pool built up on t1 runs, and then I bit it to an arcane/waller combo (again), and it all went away.
I was trying to see if I could get my pool bigger then the xp for my next level. Needless to say, soloing t3 that isn't going to happen anytime soon.
So, Rakshasa, I've got 12 Infernal Machines that don't make anything? Suck. I never went through the portals at all to make my ring before, and I can't even get one now?
Bleh.

No, you can still make the whole ring provided you get the three right body parts to drop out of the four tries you will get out of your assortment. The bodyparts from those rifts are cued to the older Hellfire Ring (2 million gp plan) instead of the drops for the mew ones, which are separate items for a separate ring (5 million gp plan). So, there's two Hellfire rings you can have. Its worth it just for the fun of fighting two bosses, but ith the old Infernal Machines, you can still get the old ring. You just can't mix and match portals with the new portal devices.
Just broke the Million dmg mark tonight, swapping out a Royal Ruby for an Imperial Emerald on my socketed hand-crossbow. (Part of some set that I'll never find. Finding set pieces easily was the only thing I liked about the auction house).
