Coming at your next Saturday, Jan. 5th we're swinging some seriously cool things your way! I'm talking, of course, about the best we've got to offer from the East! (India, China, & Japan to be exact)

That's right! We might have traveled half way around the world from our little Goblin HQ to track down the hottest classes!

We've got -BAM- the Street Samurai!
Tired of playing it straight laced? Well, we are too. Let your top-knot down and wield as many swords as your can strap yourself with! (Warning: Contains Gratuitous Amounts of Style!)

Coming up next in the chamber we've got *click click bam* the Tao!
Grab your hat because your about blow your mind, but this class has a ying/yang balance scale that moves when you cast spells/uses class features!
Use yang abilities to power up your yang class features but go to far and *POP* you've fallen! (Likewise for yin)
We've got some soft/acupuncture style class features going on here that focuses on stat damage.

Think of this like the Ki caster you never knew you wanted until you bought our book and played it. (Then you'll get a warm fuzzy feeling)

Rounding the corner late but still in style is the Warrior Poet. The warrior poet is a remix of the bard, but without spells. “What!” You scream, “No spells?! What heresy is this!”
Don't worry friend, we've got you covered! The warrior poet's rock'en full BaB and some seriously cool class features so watch out 'cause he's coming to town!

Now what's that I hear coming along? Is is?! Could it be?! It is! We've got 5 new real martial arts style (aikido, boxing, tai chi, jujutsu, and muay thai) as style feats!!

Come for the classes, stay for the style feats, leave after the OLG :-)

The party gets started January 5th!
Don't miss it!

I was just telling my wife, I hope you guys do something with martial arts because the work you guys did with the King of the Ring was friggin awesome. Can't wait.

Glad to hear it!

We are including aikido, boxing, tai chi, jujutsu, and muay thai in this one. We have another book due out later in the development cycle that has even more!

It should be noted that boxing & jujutsu and muay thai do not represent their modern "sport" versions. Boxing & jujutsu are also expressly noted as standing in for related styles.

Thats cool, I'm not really interested in the modern sport version for a fantasy game anyway, I want to make a memorable bad ass martial artist and this will help me do it. Who muay thai clinches a lich and drops him with a knee? This guy.

Funny you should mention that. We actually included one of the feats in the muay thai style that allows you to clinch ("Chap kho") and another that focuses on your elbows & knees. We have a whole lot of flavor for the art of 8 limbs ;-)

Excellent, now I don't have to house rule anything, it was pretty wonky converting Blood and Fists to a fantasy setting. My players weren't sold on my monk who studied Kraken style, this will make a fantastic addition.

As an acupuncturist IRL, I find myself feeling somewhat wary. :-)
Was Kiss of the Dragon part of the inspiration for the acupuncture style class features?

Hello wspatterson,

Perhaps I misspoke. It's more related to a character interrupting the flow of ki in the body. Much more soft arts.

PS: Never seen the movie.

Hey, I was all excited and rushed home after work to buy Heroes of the East and it's not for sale yet. I hope everything is good at Goblin HQ.

It's all good. We are just waiting on a piece of artwork to be revised. It should be up tonight (or tomorrow morning) on DriveThru. It will be on Paizo/IPR/20PFSRD sometime this week.

It is now live on DriveThruRPG. Like I mentioned, it will be up on other sites one they give their approvals.

I don't know if I'll ever buy or use this supplement, but goddamn if the DTRPG preview of the street samurai isn't the funniest PFRPG product I've ever read. 'Strong' or not, the informal and colourful language is a refreshing change of pace. :D

Glad you enjoyed it :-)

Just bought it, effin great. I really like the Cover Up feat. The Muay Thai stuff is great and the Jujutsu feats are going to make my Wrestler from King of the Ring kick ass.
Good job, can't wait for your next unarmed/grappling supplement.

Great to hear you enjoyed it Arkady!

A future release (I think it's 3rd on the schedule) has material related to unarmed combat.

We are also including 2 more real world martial arts feats, several other fantasy martial arts styles, and sword styles reminiscent of real world koryu (swordsmanship schools). It also introduces the "martialist", a sort of Wuxia style fighter with a lot of interesting feats. The tentative name is "Heroes of the East 2".

When is that coming out?

It should be out by Feb 23rd. We have two releases before it.

I tried out a Master of Many Styles Monk with Boxing and Muay Thai as his style feats, and he kicked ass. I'm looking forward to your next release.

So you basically made a MMA fighter?! So cool!

We actually just did some playtesting on that book Tuesday night.
Included are two real world martial arts (iron shirt, capoeira, and I want to try to slip in wing chun if we have time).

We also have a whole slew of fantasy martial arts from Caleb, the revised martialist base class, and (introducing) samurai "schools" based off of real world schools (Including: Niten Ichi-ryu, Itto-ryu, Jigen-ryu, Kage-ryu, Kashima Shinto-ryu, Maniwa Nen-ryu, Yagyu Shinkage-ryu). They are style feats you can use with a katana.

I might have to include capoeira into that mma build.
I take a lot of inspiration for my npc's and pc's from old school Van Damme movies and your books are really helping me out.

Samurai schools sound pretty awesome, that'll really seperate one swordsman from another.

The Capoeira one is lots of fun. However, it requires you to have a bard playing for you (or other musician)!

And the samurai schools really are a lot of fun.
A lot of them allow a samurai to feel like a student of a particular style rather than just an alternate caviler. It gives them the flavor monks have because of their styles.

I mean how cool is it to walk up to someone and say,
"I am Terao Kyumanosuke, master of the Niten Ichi-ryu. Taught by Miyamoto Musashi himself. Draw your blade if you want to live!"
It just feels like something out of an old samurai flick.

Hey Red, when's Heroes of the East 2 coming out?

It's next on the cutting block actually. It got shifted back one because we found an awesome artist and the primal host book got art done first.

Edit: As a little teaser check out this amazing artwork for Heroes of the East 2 by Marcus Lindgren. Student of the Sword.
