Hi.
Since this october I fulfilled my dream and became a Game Designer on a small new company.
I saw the details of this project and I have to say I am instantly hooked.
I'm very fond of both Pathfinder and Sandbox MMOs.
Then I saw the crowdforging thing.
Making games for me is not just a job, is a passion, and I would be very happy about contributing to the game, however...
Could Crowdforging create problems when it comes to NDA?
Is the kind of information that the crowdforger will get subject to an NDA?
There is a draft of the NDA we can read?
Do you trust someone from the industry to be a Crowdforger?
Would crowdforging constitute a violation of a NDA that requires to not work on products that are on competition with your company? (I should probably ask my company for that but still what do you think?)
and the most important question of them all... do you plan to need more game designers by January 2014? Just kidding ... or maybe not...

So far there is no NDA, and the level of transparency that GW is demonstrating leads me to believe there will not be an NDA.
The 'beta' is really the release game, there is no reason to hide information.
I wouldn't worry about any of your concerns.
You can apply for a job on the Goblinworks' website.

Yeah, the job was kind of a joke.
I mean, Game designer with 2 months of experience who departed without releasing a single game doesn't look very good on a resume.
We will see about that in 2014 when my contract expires.
I would ask "what about the alpha" but as much as I would like to I don't think I have so much money to pledge. and if as you say they are pretty liberal with information I don't think 3 months in the alpha will be any different.
Thanks for the info.

Gratz! My eyes are turning slowly green (is that the right expression?!). ;)
As Ryan says, feed-back and word-of-mouth filtering further afield, is only going to be a good thing for early PfO, is my expectation too.

Believe me I was almost giving up on the Idea... then a Friend of mine who I used to work on independent project with got a job as a programmer in this company run by one of his friends, and when they started searching for a game designer he proposed my name. Since he kinda knew me and knew about my past works he first invited me to lunch with some employees to do a little bit of brainstorming on some project, then 2 months later asked me to make myself available as soon as possible.
I was working 5 hours a day in a place that was at 5 minutes from home on foot, now I work 8-9 hours a day in an office a hour and a half from my home on train, and I still get paid less than my old job. But is totally worth it.
