0.o permanently? I need to look this up!

For 1 year from the date of the chronicle sheet.

Sovereign Court

Yeah, I hated the way one of those Lissala boons went. There is a boon that gives you +2 to an ability score, IF you do something evil.

Sovereign Court

Looks good now.

Sovereign Court

They aren't actually shared yet.

Sovereign Court

I never should have opened my mouth. Next time, I'm just making the deal in secret, and they can all thank me when they spend their gold.

"Indeed, this fish is fried. Let's go catch some more."

Sovereign Court

I'm good moving on.

Sovereign Court

Tagir waits several feet behind Ulena, listening to her self-righteous little speech. He waits several minutes after she has finished, then approaches the elderly man. "What we all really want here is to stop Myrorype, yes? That's why I convinced the others to avoid the Luminous Wharf. That female viper is the only one you'd have to beat to take control of the district."

Bluff: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12 Was he the one that I earned a +2 for?

Sovereign Court

Wrong thread :-p

Sovereign Court

I don't remember for sure, are we now convincing Vayde to go after the Luminous Wharf?

Sovereign Court

"Yes, we have. We've decided that the only lover who might reasonably enjoy kissing a viper like you is another venomous snake."

Sovereign Court

OOC, I think we've agreed not to help Myrosype. This is all for fun right now.

"What exactly is the problem with slavery? The Pathfinder Society and most of the nations on Golarion also condone it. It's a necessary and appropriate part of society, just like the nobility." I knew this was going to happen. She wasn't supposed to realize anything until it was too late.

Sovereign Court

"Of course Myrosype has a way to benefit from our information, but that's not the point. The important point is that WE would also benefit."

Tagir begins walking around, gesturing with his arms instead of just his hands. "What does the Society do for us, really? They don't pay us, but they do take a cut of what we earn. They don't get us out of bad situations, but they do expect us to get other people out of bad situations.

"All they really do is provide us with opportunities. Opportunities like this one. Our mission was to influence Myrosype's competitors. We have done that, and will continue to do that. We were never ordered to avoid doing other things."

Tagir stops pacing, and looks each of his companions in the eye. "Many Pathfinders have side jobs, be it as a craftsman, barrister or something else. The Society allows us to earn money elsewhere."

If the decision has to be for the whole group, then I think we should tell Myrosype to go kiss a venomous snake. But we should definitely talk it out in character first, as this seems like a fun RP opportunity.

Sovereign Court

Tagir places a hand on Ulena's forearm. "Peace, Ulena. Our dear friend here is just bluffing to hide her weakness."

Does it affect everyone if Tagir sells out? It would be completely in character for him, but I don't want to change other players' chronicle sheets.

Sovereign Court

"You're too suspicious, Dragos. And not imaginative enough," Tagir answers the inquisitor. And too smart. Your suspicions and Ulena's honor are going to keep me a pauper.

Tagir waits for the servant to get out of earshot before speaking to his companions. "That's unexpected. And hard to trust. Perhaps I should go alone. If the wench does mean us ill, it's far better to have the four of you mounting a rescue than stuck in the thick of it with me."

Of course, I'll be perfectly safe once I accept her bribe. And perfectly placed to keep it all for myself.

Sovereign Court

"Vayde does seem rather friendly to our cause."

Sovereign Court

I must have been looking at Irith somehow. The roll is a failure no matter what, so getting it wrong still makes a kind of sense.

Sovereign Court

I really need to move here permanently, this is just too easy.

"Well, a nightmare really." Tagir's face and shoulders slump, the smile leaves his eyes. "I saw . . . our bodies skinned like fish, half eaten. I could feel the teeth digging into me. And just before I woke . . . I saw Myrosype delivering the The Forbidden Prophecies of Kelesh to some sort of winged devil."

Intimidate: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

Sovereign Court

@GM: I assume you meant "Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma-based checks"? As in, skills take the penalty, not just ability checks.

Tagir quickly seeks out his main prey, so as to have more time for dessert afterward. "Ah, Prophet! Just the man I was looking for. I had the most unusual dream last night. A vision, one might even say. I would've sworn it was real. Perhaps magic. You know more of such things than I, though."

Sovereign Court

"Well, this certainly promises to be a surprise," Tagir notes, "Hopefully a pleasant one!"

Sovereign Court

"I shall have an answer for you by the end of the auction, if that is sufficient? And would you be needing the assistance of my allies as well? I'm sure they could be convinced to offer their aid as well.

"Especially, Ulena here. She is a rather noble and helpful personage."

Sovereign Court

Oops! Don't know how I forgot the stars on my reroll. And can I take a second success instead of the discovery check?

"But of course, good Prophet. Men of culture, like ourselves, should always look out for one another in this dangerous and dirty world.

"Are you in search of something--or someone--specific? Or simply thinking ahead toward future need?"

How did these fools ever get so rich? Their pockets are ripe for the picking, if only I didn't have that silly paladin to worry about. I just know Ulena would rat me out to the captain.

Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 15 to discover Vayde's weakness

Sovereign Court

Given a choice between food that hasn't yet been killed and conversation, Tagir quickly finds Vayde in the crowd and tries to capitalize on last night's good impression.

"Prophet Petronax, I hope this evening finds you well?"

Tagir lets Vayde lead the conversation for a while, until it naturally turns to the man's interests. "Hmm, that reminds me of something I heard before we left Absalom. There is an historian there that the Society occasionally works with, Yargos Gill.

"He asked me to check on something for him, while I was here. Supposedly he has found references to the lost sword of the dead god, Namzaruum, along with mention of a text called The Forbidden Prophecies of Kelesh. And as would be expected, that text has been outlawed and destroyed--but Yargos believes there to be a surviving copy in the Scriptum."

Tagir pauses to confirm Vayde's interest, then asks, "Might one of your assistants be able to help me search for this text? I confess, my skills lean a different direction." At which point, Tagir turns his head to follow a pretty waitress walking across the room.

Crunch:
Bluff: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11 to influence Vayde
Reroll: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24

Sovereign Court

Yep. Went to bed at like 4pm.

Sovereign Court

Chaotic Good, although I'm not sure the good is going to fit long-term. Definitely no self-discipline or respect for the law, though.

Sovereign Court

Tagir searches the room until he finds Evariel, then beckons the elf toward a more private space. Look at him, what has he done? Well, he can be the messenger of my success!

"Have you seen the others? Let them know, I've secured Irith Nomazmo's commitment to the Prophet's Burg. Now, I have more work to do!" And Tagir rushes away quickly, before Evariel can ask any questions or express his doubts.

Sovereign Court

Two successes

Sovereign Court

Later in the evening, Tagir begins chatting with a group of women near Irith Nomazmo, making sure to speak a little too loudly as if he had had a little too much to drink. "Did you hear the latest rumors about the Prophet's Burg?" He pauses uncomfortably long before continuing, "I heard that Myrosype is already negotiating several deals for when she buys the district, so I asked around to find out who she was dealing with. And lo and behold, I found several groups of investors complaining about dealing with her."

Bluff: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30 to influence Irith

Sovereign Court

I just wish Paizo would trust its GMs more, like Catalyst does with Shadowrun. At the very least, 4-5 star GMs could be given some leeway to deviate from the written text.

Sovereign Court

"I'm feeling a little more humorous. White wine tends to do that to me. Let's see if our host's sense of humor is as tasteful as his costumes."

Tagir approaches Vayde Petronax, and thinks pensively before answering the host's question. "I confess, the choice was less one of reasoning than of intuition. All of the women in front of me were choosing devils, so it wouldn't do to pick the same. I want them to see how corruptible I am!"

After a minute of light chatting, Tagir excuses himself so that the host may entertain other guests. He looks around for his companions, then waves them toward a corner of the room. "So, what's our plan for tonight's bidding? With this masks hiding my eyes, I feel like I could convince Irith of just about anything!"

Perform (comedy): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16 to impress Vayde

Sovereign Court

Tagir quickly gravitates to the more beautiful and free-spirited creatures, and selects three with wings. "Ulena, what do you think of these costumes?"

Anything chaotic-good will do, preferably something with wings.

Sovereign Court

I want to apologize for my recent (and possibly continued) absence. I'm feeling very burned out right now, and am not sure how much I will be able to reliably handle. Please do not hesitate to bot me, and if necessary, to replace me.

I will do my best, but don't be surprised if my posting is sporadic and low quality for the near future. But above all, do what it takes to make sure that all of you keep having fun.

If you want to interact with the host, you may include this as well. Beginning an interaction with the host will earn you what skills to positively influence them. If you do not choose to make a check vs the host, nothing happens (this is a no risk check).

How do we make this check? What is it?

Sovereign Court

Could you please put an additional row at the top, showing which columns belong to which group, i.e. "recognize", "analyze"?

Sovereign Court

And what do we have here? Dragos is a lot smarter than he looks!

"You must have been wounded by a woman, to think such unfair things of the fairer sex." Or just have met Lucy. Or Jasmina. Or Ladia, Rebeka, or Aimee.

Sovereign Court

No questions at the moment.

    Sovereign Court

"Come now, Dragos! There must be more to you than Erastil and arrows. Imagine a beautiful girl leaning on your arm, gazing into your eyes. What would you tell her of yourself?"

    Sovereign Court

Been a little busy the past few days, but I'm still here.

    Sovereign Court

Tagir begins to speak, then chokes a little bit and blinks long and hard several times before answering Ulena, "Aye. She is--was my true love." He pauses and looks to Ulena for assurance, "What do you say of someone that you will always love, but will never see again in this world?"

After a long pause, he offers a small smile and ventures, "Perhaps Bishop could cast the bones and tell us how she fares? It would warm my heart for months to hear that her soul is happy and doing well."

    Bluff: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24

    ----------

On the way to Temel's estate, Tagir pulls aside the servant for a whispered word, "Be careful with that one," he points at Evariel. "He believes we're all beneath him, and will abuse the staff any chance he gets. Perhaps he could be foisted upon an . . . appropriate member of the staff? I trust you know better than I how do deal with the needs of such . . . special guests."

    Sovereign Court

It makes a nice counterpoint for my flirting with Ulena, and allows me to show more of Tagir's personality.

    Sovereign Court

And elves like you are the reason there aren't more full bloods. "Why, thank you, Evariel!" Tagir turns his biggest smile on the elf. "It's good to know my charms aren't going unnoticed.

"And you make a good point: women are such amazing and beautiful creatures, I don't know how any man is ever worthy enough. Perhaps that's why it's always so special when they give us the gift of their love."

    Sovereign Court

"And what of yourself, Ulena?" Tagir asks. "Would you be needing anything? Perhaps a sunbathing suit."

    Sovereign Court

"Hmm . . . where can a guy pick up some fishing supplies? I see no reason not to take full advantage of a week lounging on the water."

    Sovereign Court

"Indeed we were. I believe you each owe me a drink for doing your work."

    Diplomacy (aid): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

    Sovereign Court

Depends on the GM. Usually I can tell when the penalty gets missed or doubled.

    Sovereign Court

A lot of players do take it as a bonus to their attack roll. Annoys the hell out of me.

"I call this one "On Our Would-Be Anniversary":

"I love a nun; but she is worth the strife.
    Shelyn I love, and next to her, Clarisse;
I prayed two years for her to be my wife.
She died, and found something I cannot: peace."

    The Original Poem:
    "On His Seventy-fifth Birthday"
    by Walter Savage Landor

I strove with none; for none was worth my strife,
    Nature I loved, and next to nature, Art;
I warmed both hands before the fire of life,
It sinks, and I am ready to depart.

    Sovereign Court

@GM: If Ulena's 17 hits the bandit, shouldn't my 14 hit him while prone?

Beauty of the world, eh? "Normally I would agree with you, Bishop." Tagir begins, "We must all accept responsibility for our choices, even the bad ones." What horse s+~$. Everybody knows your loss is their gain. Only fools and suckers get stuck paying the tab.

"But these men are like stunted flowers that bloomed in the shade and have known only darkness. They had no choice but to turn away from the light. We can show them differently though, with our mercy. Now, in the sunlight of that mercy, their flowers may bloom."
