About Lucy HenderthaneThis raven-haired woman could be anywhere between the ages of 25 and 40; her elegance seems otherworldly, as if she has elven or extraplanar blood. However, she does not show any of the telltale signs of being a half-elf, at least visually, and dressed in the height of Chelish fashion with the crest of House Henderthane cleverly displayed beneath an emerald brooch, she is clearly too high of station in that infernal nation to be a tiefling. Ever present is her bodyguard, a cloaked and hooded man carrying a bastard sword whose armor grinds and clanks as they walk. Lucy the Summoner:

A familiar grants special abilities to its master. Lucy’s familiar grants her the benefits of the Alertness feat and an empathic link, as well as the ability to scry on her familiar. These special abilities apply only when she and the familiar are within 1 mile of each other. Levels of different classes that are entitled to familiars stack for the purpose of determining any familiar abilities that depend on the master's level. If a familiar is dismissed, lost or dies, it can be replaced 1 week later through a specialized ritual that costs 200 gp per effective sorcerer level. The ritual takes 8 hours to complete. Bond Senses (Su) Lucy can, as a standard action, share the senses of her eidolon, hearing, seeing, smelling, tasting, and touching everything the eidolon does. She can use this ability for up to thirteen rounds per day. There is no range to this effect, but she and her eidolon must be on the same plane. The ability can be ended as a free action. Eidolon (Su) Lucy possesses the ability to summon to her side a powerful outsider called an eidolon that shares her alignment and languages by performing a ritual that takes 1 minute. The eidolon remains until dismissed by the summoner (a standard action). Eidolons are treated as summoned creatures, except that they are not sent back to their home plane until reduced to a number of negative hit points equal to or greater than their Constitution score. If the eidolon is sent back to its home plane due to death, it cannot be summoned again until the following day. In addition, due to its tie to its summoner, an eidolon can touch and attack creatures warded by protection from evil and similar effects that prevent contact with summoned creatures. The eidolon cannot be sent back to its home plane by means of dispel magic, but spells such as dismissal and banishment work normally. If the summoner is unconscious, asleep, or killed, his eidolon is immediately banished. Greater Aspect (Su) Lucy can divert up to 6 points from her eidolon's evolution pool to add evolutions to herself. She cannot select any evolution that the eidolon could not possess, and she must be able to meet the requirements as well. She cannot select the ability increase evolution through this ability. For every two points spent in this way, one point is taken from the eidolon's evolution pool (reducing the total number available to the eidolon). Lucy can change the evolutions she receives from these points any time he can change the eidolon's evolutions. Greater Shield Ally (Su) Whenever an ally is within her eidolon's reach, the ally receives a +2 shield bonus to its Armor Class and a +2 circumstance bonus on its saving throws. Whenever Lucy is within her eidolon’s reach these bonuses increase to +4. This bonus does not apply if the eidolon is grappled, helpless, paralyzed, stunned, or unconscious. Life Bond (Su) Lucy’s life is linked to her eidolon’s and s long as the eidolon has 1 or more hit points she protected from harm. Damage in excess of that which would reduce Lucy to fewer than 0 hit points is instead transferred to the eidolon. This damage is transferred 1 point at a time, meaning that as soon as the eidolon is reduced to a number of negative his points equal to its Constitution score, all excess damage remains with Lucy. Effects that cause death but not damage are unaffected by this ability. This ability does not affect spells like baleful polymorph, flesh to stone, or imprisonment, or other spells that do not cause actual damage. Life Link (Su) Lucy has formed a close bond with her eidolon. Whenever the eidolon takes enough damage to send it back to its home plane she can, as a free action, sacrifice any number of hit points. Each hit point sacrificed in this way prevents 1 point of damage done to the eidolon. This can prevent the eidolon from being sent back to its home plane. In addition, she and her eidolon must remain within 100 feet of one another for the eidolon to remain at full strength. If the eidolon is beyond 100 feet but closer than 1,000 feet, its current and maximum hit point totals are reduced by 50%. If the eidolon is more than 1,000 feet away but closer than 10,000 feet, its current and maximum hit point totals are reduced by 75%. If the eidolon is more than 10,000 feet away, it is immediately returned to its home plane. Current hit points lost in this way are not restored when the eidolon gets closer to her but its maximum hit point total does return to normal. Maker’s Call (Su) Twice per day as a standard action, Lucy can call her eidolon to her side. This functions as a caster level 13 dimension door. When used, the eidolon appears adjacent to her or as close as possible if all adjacent spaces are occupied. If the eidolon is out of range, the ability is wasted. Merge Forms (Su) Lucy can touch her eidolon and the two can merge forms as a full-round action. This transformation includes all of her gear. While merged in this way, Lucy is protected from harm and cannot be the target of spells or effects. All effects and spells currently targeting her are suspended until she emerges from the eidolon (although durations continue to expire). New Arcana (Ex) Through her arcane eldritch heritage, Lucy has gained additional spells known. These spells are from the sorcerer/wizard spell list, and she may only learn additional spells of a level she is capable of casting. She has selected shadow conjuration and shadow evocation with this ability. School Power (Su) Lucy gains a +2 bonus to saving throw DCs for spells of the Conjuration school. Summon Monster IX (Sp) Lucy can cast summon monster IX as a spell-like ability 13 times per day. Drawing upon this ability uses up the same power as Lucy uses to call her eidolon. As a result, she can only use this ability when her eidolon is not summoned. She can cast this spell as a standard action and the creatures remain for 1 minute per level (instead of 1 round per level). Lucy cannot have more than one summon monster or gate spell active in this way at one time. If this ability is used again, any existing summon monster or gate immediately ends. These summon spells are considered to be part of her spell list for the purposes of spell trigger and spell completion items. In addition, she can expend uses of this ability to fulfill the construction requirements of any magic item she creates, so long as she can use this ability to cast the required spell. Transposition (Su) Lucy can use her maker's call ability to swap locations with her eidolon. She can appear in any square occupied by the eidolon. The eidolon must occupy the square that she occupied if able or as close as possible if it is not able. Eidolon stat block:

Deliver Touch Spells (Su) Stingy can deliver touch spells for Lucy. If Lucy and Stingy are in contact at the time the master casts a touch spell, he can designate his familiar as the “toucher.” Stingy can then deliver the touch spell just as Lucy would. As usual, if Lucy casts another spell before the touch is delivered, the touch spell dissipates. Empathic Link (Su) Lucy has an empathic link with Stingy to a 1 mile distance. He can communicate empathically with Stingy but cannot see through its eyes (see below). Because of the link's limited nature, only general emotions can be shared. Lucy has the same connection to an item or place that Stingy does. Improved Evasion (Ex) When subjected to an attack that normally allows a Reflex saving throw for half damage, Stingy takes no damage if it makes a successful saving throw and half damage even if the saving throw fails. Poison (Su) Sting—injury; save Fort DC 10; frequency 1/round for 6 rounds; effect sickened for 1 round; cure 1 save. The save DC is Constitution-based. Scry on Familiar (Sp) Lucy may scry on her familiar as if casting the scrying spell once per day. Share Spells (Su) Lucy may cast a spell with a target of “You” on Stingy (as a touch spell) instead of on himself. He may cast spells on Stingy even if the spells do not normally affect creatures of the familiar's type. Speak with Animals of Its Kind (Ex) Stingy can communicate with animals of approximately the same kind as itself (including dire varieties): bats with bats, cats with felines, hawks and owls and ravens with birds, lizards and snakes with reptiles, monkeys with other simians, rats with rodents, toads with amphibians, and weasels with ermines and minks. Such communication is limited by the Intelligence of the conversing creatures. Speak with Master (Ex) Stingy and Lucy can communicate verbally as if they were using a common language. Other creatures do not understand the communication without magical help. Spell Resistance (Ex) Lucy’s familiar gains spell resistance equal to the her effective sorcerer level + 5. To affect the familiar with a spell, another spellcaster must get a result on a caster level check (1d20 + caster level) that equals or exceeds the familiar's spell resistance.

History:
Born into wealth and decadence as a noble of Imperial Cheliax, but for the devil Orxines and Einmarch Henderthane’s death. Fortunately for her, she was not the seed of the old man’s loins but the bastard offspring of the Lord’s brother and a priestess of Calistria, but the Henderthane affair certainly scarred her as much as it did the house.
Prior to her Uncle’s death and the revelation that her family had been nothing but a valuable pawn in an attempt to rewrite the contract between House Thrune and Hell, Lucy lived in relative luxury. Despite being a bastard, her talent for conjuration magic manifested early and she was shipped off to school by the family. While she would never inherit anything, nor would she be allowed the luxury of the Henderthane children in spending the family money, she was allowed to retain the family name if only for the prestige having anyone gifted at summoning devils brought to the family itself. Her elven heritage hidden behind bribes and disguises, Lucy exceled in her studies, and in return was allowed to remain part of House Henderthane. All too soon, however, her life of comfort was snatched away. With the death of her uncle, Lucy’s father was condemned to death by the crown as one of Lord Einmarch’s immediate family. Rather than risk the death of a valuable asset, the family’s new patriarch needed to move her outside the capital. Lucy and her brother were packed off to Abasalom, to join the Pathfinder Society. Alastor would be trained for combat there, while Lucy was purchased a field commission by the family before its wealth could be stripped from them. Lucy became distraught at this development. While she exceled in the field, at the lodge she hid herself away from the other Pathfinders and resented the organization and the diplomatic attaché who coordinated the Chelish agents among the Society. Her loyalty to Imperial Cheliax was gone, for while it was not expressed in the way a citizen of a more open society might understand Lucy had admired her father, perhaps the closest thing to, “Love,” a diabolist is capable of, and she blamed Cheliax and the Hellknights for his death. Her younger brother, Alastor, became her only confidant among the Pathfinders. When not in the field the two were nearly inseparable in the early days, and whispers ran rampant among Alastor’s fellow trainees that dark deeds and forbidden lusts were afoot when the two in Lucy’s room in the Grand Lodge, though nothing could be further from the truth Finally moving out from beneath the Grand Lodge’s roof, Lucy purchased a small townhouse and invested in several business holdings, including a caravan, to support her beyond what she earned from field work. She settled into a routine life, focusing on her field work and allowing her bitterness to fester for a time. She and Alastor were at their most distant at this period as well, as her brother joined a fellowship of Hellknights and even became one herself; after he joined their ranks, Lucy did not speak to her for nearly a month before relenting. Finally, though, she received a letter from House Henderthane’s new patriarch. She and her brother were to return to Cheliax. Finally, she thought, she would have her revenge. Lucy contacted those in the Chelish embassy who owed her favors from her or her brother’s work as Pathfinders. She secured a post as a Signifer in the Order of the Gate, a mostly honorary title protecting her from the Crown when she returned to the capital. Her return to the house’s halls was greeted with much fanfare, for she was the eldest of her father’s line and the family’s patriarch planned to marry her to a member of House Drovenge to secure the line’s future and help restore the Henderthane’s waning coffers. Sadly, he did not plan on Lucy announcing that she had engaged in an incestuous relationship with her brother while in Absalom! No longer a suitable candidate to marry any noble, Einmarch’s successor could do little but spit in impotent fury as she summoned her brother and, by hook, crook, and the wealth she had accrued from her business ventures set her up as their father’s successor, a noble in his own right. Lucy never spoke of her intention to have her brother rise to become the house’s patriarch, but she never concealed it either; the best revenge is the one your enemy sees coming, and Lucy blamed the corrupt house for all the suffering of herself, her brother, and their father. It was at this time that the Pathfinders called all hands to support the hunt for the Cult of Lissala. Lucy was not spared this, and she very nearly lost her hold on her precarious political position as a result. Forced to delve the dungeon deep in search of cultist’s kisses, sigils, refuges, and ancient words she and her brother traipsed across Korvosa, all the while her family at home working feverishly to dislodge her successful caravanning and gemcutting ventures from her grasp. However, her treks across Korvosa brought an added benefit when she met a tenured professor at the Acadamae, an elf named Filraen Ghaun who was secretly a Venture-Captain herself. Filraen shared much of his knowledge of summoning with her, and while she thought his methods showed squeamishness and weakness she admired the clarity of purpose and willingness to sacrifice even his friends in pursuit of his goal. At this time, Filraen requested a favor of her. While her brother prepared to fight the Waking Rune, Lucy would travel with several of Filraen’s former adventuring companions from his days as a field agent, one now a Venture-Captain like herself, to be the translator in Sandpoint and the surrounding area. Lucy viewed the opportunity as too good to pass up, especially once she learned that they were hunting a Thassilonian giant. She could not possibly have asked for a better circumstance; to be permitted to hunt a giant and add its strength, or the strength of its allies, to her quest for revenge? She gladly accepted after Filraen promised his own protégé would travel with Alastor and keep her safe as they faced a Runelord in combat. While her brother and Iorden were successful in bringing an end to the Runelord of Sloth, trapping her in his coffin before he could wake, Lucy and the Azure Drakes were far less successful. Their investigation around the town of Sandpoint led them to the Black Tower and Jorgenfist. There the Azure Drakes met their second great deficiency as a group; their lack of stealth. When they failed to avoid the giant army, Ulric and Fafnir were captured while Aesa was felled by a dread mummy and Crownbearer laid low by the general of the giant army, two of his allies, and a great dire bear the size of a house. Lucy might have aided them again, but she had been left in Sandpoint for unlike Filraen, the Ulfen mistrusted the Chelish summoner and her fiendish allies. They made for excellent diplomats, but not trustworthy allies. Instead, Lucy returned to Korvosa. Upon her return, she discovered that her absence in Varisia had proven costly. While she had uncovered much about the Thassilonians during her time there, her family had finally managed to secure her incomes for themselves, cutting Lucy out of the wealth and therefore out of control of the family. With their wealth flowing directly into the coffers of their great uncle and their caravans gone, Lucy was forced to take refuge in Varisia. Still a Hellknight, the family dared not touch Alastor as he was a favorite of the empire’s handlers as well as of his superior officers in the God Claw, and also because his work with the Hellknights and the Pathfinders had made her largely independent of the family money. Lucy, however, enjoyed no such protection as all her resources were tied up in her business interests or invested in bribes to diplomats and extraplanar allies meant to wrest control of her family’s holdings from her great uncle; her adventuring wealth was largely spent, while Alastor’s remained liquid. Now in hiding in Korvosa, she waits and plots her return to Egorian. The Order of the Gate shows no inclination to protect her as she has done nothing for the Order, and so she remains just beyond her family’s reach, securing her position in the, “Rustic backwater,” of Korvosa while preparing to return her brother to his “rightful place” at the head of the family.
