About Kliment YaroslavCohort of Bartek Yaroslav Casually standing at ease in full plate, the man before you exudes confidence. Its in the way he holds himself, how he walks, and how he talks. His happy eyes, quick smile, and outspoken nature likely help with this impression as well. The man has numerous scars visible even in his fullplate, some on the backs of his hands, and a few smaller ones on his face. The scars are evidence of his brave and foolhardy nature as he throws himself into battle so those that he cares for don't have to. Full Backstory:
After Bartek left things at home got worse for Kliment. Kliment’s father began to take out his anger on members of the town as well as his family. His mother cried constantly. Kliment could get no where with anyone on what the symbol on the scrap of cloth his real father left behind meant, or who’s it was. A year after Bartek’s departure, Kliment had to leave as well, driven away by his father and the shunning of the other village folk due to his questions. Kliment did not head west though as Bartek had. Kliment ventured east to Restov in search of fame and glory as a swordlord. Kliment had to work his way to Restov, and spent many nights hungry on the trip there. Upon his arrival in Restov, he began to search for a school that would teach him. After weeks of searching for a teacher in vain, Kliment finally became discouraged enough by his lack of funds and chance of finding a sponsor that he settled for work at an inn outside of Restov. Kliment’s background in a rural area had him doing many of the outside chores, feeding the horses, cleaning the stables, splitting and stacking firewood, etc for the next year. Kliment was always careful to check travellers for the same symbol that is upon the scrap of cloth from his birth father, always trying to determine who he was. It was at the inn outside while tending the horses that Kliment made a good impression on a trio of knights of the Order of the Dragon. While stabling their horses, one of them startled and reared. Instead of fleeing, as apparently others had while afraid of the trained war mount, Kliment soothed it, calmed it and moved it into its stall without the aid of the knight who owned it. Seeing ability in him, the trio offered to take Kliment and train him. Elated by his turn of luck, Kliment accepted. Two years of training and Kliment was on his own again, a fully trained cavalier of the Order of the Dragon. It was at this point that Kliment decided to strike off on his own for a time, as many young cavaliers are wont to do. Kliment travelled about Brevoy, aiding small villages along the Stolen Lands border for a year before ending up back in his home town. Surprised by his return, his mother was elated, his father less so. The other people in the village were wary of him, for Kliment now had a different stance about him, confident and able as opposed to the scared boy that left. Regardless of how they thought of him, Kliment was glad to be back home and for the next few months he helped as best he could with chores and keeping the village in good shape. Nearing the end of the summer, Kliment was returning from a patrol to see bandits attacking the village. Cursing himself for not being there, Kliment surged forward on his mount and began to lay into the rear of the bandits forces. Eventually the bandits retreated from the village, having taken enough spoils and casualties. Upon inspecting the damage, Kliment found a few members of the village around his fathers dead body. Crushed and confused by his father’s death, Kliment helped put the village back together over following week. Once the repairs were made, Kliment’s mid was made up, he would head west to the Numerian border and find Bartek, as that was where one of the few letters Bartek had sent came from. While not the greatest with people from what Kliment remembered, Bartek’s magic would let them defend themselves more easily, as well as make the work needed to survive the winter less strenuous. Upon finding Bartek and returning him home, Kliment felt as though he had made the right decision. Bartek fell into a greater worship of Erastil and guided their people well, his magics more helpful than imagined. When their mother died to a bandit raid three years later, Kliment happily swore to follow Bartek’s cause to cleanse the Stolen Lands and happily rode out to find allies for Bartek. Marching now towards Restov to join an even larger force to claim the Stolen Lands only seems like the next logical step for Kliment...
Thoughts on Kliment and his growth:
Kliment is the better of the two brothers in regards to morality. He is often confused by Bartek's harshness, but is glad he can make Bartek see reason most of the time. Kliment holds his brother in high regard and follows him near slavishly since he returned and helped the village. Kliment will eventually grow into the full position as a leader of people, rally them to him with his growing honour. It is my intention for Kliment to eventually take Radovan Sergius, Bartek's level 4 paladin follower, as a Cohort. This is due both to Kliment's and Radovan's faith in Erastil, as well as Radovan holding many of the same ideals as both Bartek and Kliment. Kliment also believes the Radovan holds the best of both himself and his brother in him, and wants Radovan to excel to a position higher then both of theirs. Fame, Honour, and Kliment's Code:
Place holder for Fame Place holder for Honor(Kliment will follow the Chivalric Code) Kliment's Personal Code 1 - My people come first, I shall use my body to protect them from harm so that they may support each other. 2 - I shall have compassion for my people, no matter what they have done. Protecting their souls is as important as protecting their bodies, and no mortal is irredeemable. 3 - My will shall be subverted to that of my people. I shall uphold their honor as if it were my own, and follow them with all that I can. 4 - Should my people falter in their ways, should they succumb to the forces of evil, that is as much my fault as theirs for I could not protect them. I shall endeavor to correct this until the end of my days. Future Leveling Plan:
