His life began the day his father ordered his retirement. That’s what the man who would take the name Chinatsu would one day think. Yes, it was difficult to stomach it. It was sudden and swift, though maybe not entirely unexpected. A gloom had been over the family home since the messenger came. Mother and Father argued for days, though no one was rude enough to listen in on their private conversations. Something was going to happen, everyone in the family knew. He guessed it might as well have been sooner rather than later.
Fighting for his clan, on the wall, for the Empire itself had always been his calling. He felt drawn to the temple of Osano Wo, the warrior monks had allowed him entrance. He was already physically adept though he will readily admit that he was unprepared for the training the monks endured. What was bigger to him was the learning. He learned many things at the temple. Being one with oneself. Discarding those things that weigh one down. He forgot his family, replaced them with his masters and fellow disciples at the temple. He forgot his life, replacing them with study and training.
He had moved from place to place, sent by his Master in one temple to seek guidance in another. His maturation into a monk of Osano Wo was slow but steady. Some months ago, he was sent to the Temple at Ryoko Owari. There he met the man who was to complete his training and serve as his master for some time. Rennyo, monk of Osano Wo and master of their style, would train Chinatsu and ensure he was ready for his duties.
