HI guys i come for your expert help, I have a problem in my second darkness game we are currently up to endless night and i will start from the beginning,
for starters it all worked out fine the group went through the gate met up with gadak and such now the hard bit Tempest an elf wizard had looted shindiira's signet ring a hosue misraria signet ring and gadak noticed, so he didn't get three of the group to join vonnarc only one Isaac a human assassin, he talked to gadak and said he wanted to join so he went off to join why the other made there way off into the city Isaac joined Vonnarc and refused to be a pathetic guard or anything so he told them he was a proffesional assassin after a lot of questions i decieded to set him a task Which was to Capture (on hind sight i probably shouldnt have assigned an assassin a capture mission) a Spy from one of the other houses, Meanwhile the others decieded Radaslav Aka Axeman the human warblade should join vonnarc too.
So isaac decieded he'd introduce Axeman just after he helped him assassinate the guy so they killed him (Forgetting it was a capture mission) and returned to the Vonnarc palace, I figured the matron would probably atleast flog them but she also though that axeman was jsut a thicko fighter hired by him so she actually recruited himm into vonnarc but took Isaac off to be flogged, Isaac decieded to escape not wanting a floging so he escaped with invisibility (and he has an extreme hide skill elven cloak and all) but had heard the 2nd daughter mentioned and decieded to go either leave a few surprises or attempt to sleep with her i'm really not sure, and ended up stealing her best whip so then he escaped the building. And the group decied they want to do a direct assault on house azinrae (even though i have emphisized heavily that the building is surrounded by powerful enchantments and filled with guards and demons) and axeman is going to loot hosue vonarc.. So i ahve absolutely no idea what to do whatsoever what do you guys think

Next to you another halfling lies dirty blonde hair falling over his face he's dressed in rags you realize, then you realize so are you. when you get up you realize there's another halfling on the other side of the blonde halfling, this halfling has dark hair and is also dressed in rags he seems just as surprised as you are, unlike the blonde halflife this halfling is awake.

Hi Guys, my Sister is thinking of trying to DM her first Adventure, (and i Obviously Suggested the awesome adventure paths) But she would like to try something free first and if she does it well and enjoys having much power for a change than she will run one of these, But the problem is One of the other player's Kinda has read all the obvious ones on the WOTC Site, So can anyone suggest anywhere else where you can get Good New DM Friendly free 1st level Adventures (So we can get on with one of Paizo's awesome ones) Or Should The knowledgeable player play dumb? Or Should She just start with A pathfinder one? are they very friendly on new DM's? I was thinking Legacy of fire in this case, (cause i want to run Council of thieves) thanks for all the help!!!

Hi all me and my player's are up to Armageddon echo and we think (especially me) that some music would benefit the game greatly but we kinda find it a bit distracting sometimes... So what music do you listen to when playing second darkness? i would like something very long, Creepy. prefferably no singing, not to loud but with loud rises.

hello! i don't know if there has been a thread like this before but i didn't see one on the first page so here you go!
this thread is for fun sad funny or generaly unusual things that have happened in your second darkness for example the pc's unusual way of doing something here's my one to start of
Pc's are
Isack human male assassin
Tempest female elf wizard
Haldvin male dwarf elementalist
And Axeman male human warblade
It is when Depora has run out onto the Cyphergate (after the pc's spent an unusualy long time healing and not casing her) Axeman goes charging out onto the Cyphergate after her and hurls the mundane glue she had in her cave at her hoping it was Sovrien glue since that fails cause it's normal glue Depora leaps of of the Cyphergate and starts floating down to the ship below Axeman leaps of after her and misses splat in the water. so Tempest uses ventriloquism to make a deep manly voice to sound on the ship below HARD TO PORT! so the ship swerved to port and Depora landed in the water with Axeman and got minced by the waiting warblade Tempest had run down to the waters edge below and floated out to Axeman with Floating disc and got Axeman to strip her and load her gear on the disc
(Tempest is now wearing most of Depora's cloths)
So they leave a naked Drow in the harbor later to be swept up by the wave and hurled onto Kwava
It is a beautiful morning in Riddleport the sky clear except for the odd seagull or other types of bird, there is the usual buzz of chatter in the streets but this time not just about the blot (as the locals call the great black cloud in the sky) this time people are excited about that evening there would be a tournament held in the newly opened Gold Goblin Gambling hall, called "Cheat the devil and take his gold"...

The city proper us tucked in between two rocky ridges,theeasternmost rising just over 300 feet in elevation and blocking the city from a tidal swamp of hillocks and mires that serves today as a dumping ground for refuse,derelict ships,bodies,and undesirables. The western ridge ascends swiftly into the Calphiak mountains themselves. To the north, the Velashu River threads its way between these ridge, leadung up into the velashu uplands. while roads from the east and north exist, they are not well maintained the msot notable acess to the city is its harbour.
No one who sails into Riddleport by sea can avoid passing beneath the Cyphergate. many sailors have favorite private signs or rituals for good luck they peform as there ships pass under the storied arch, for one can never be to careful around Varisia's storied monuments.Riddleport today bears an air of legitimacy tha tin earlier times eluded it when it was little more than a haven for those seeking shelter but not nessecarily law. This legitimacy arises from a growing influx of sholars and experts, for all of varisia's storied monuments the Cyphergate may be the best preserved. it's certainly one of the most enigmatic.
The Goverment and the Crimelords

The titular head of the Riddleport goverment is the self apointed Overlord of Riddleport, a postition traditionly helf for life. Riddleport's current overlord is a former pirate captain named Gaston Cromarcky.Since the city's founding, Riddleport has been ruled by a series of pirate lords, buccaneers, and other unsavoury sailors in a bloody cycle of betrayal and violent coups. Overlord Cromarcky has maintained his rule over riddleport for three decades by entrentching himself in a wholly new manner. rather than rely on the loyalty of pirate crews and fellow captains, Cromarcky opened the coffers of his deceased predecessor and hired mercenaries and enforcers from land-bound groups wiht no connection to piracy. Calling this new breed of enforcers the Riddleport Gendarmes ("gentlemen-at-arms") he created a military force loyal to his coin.
Traditionally, eight crimelords rule under the Overlord. like the overlord, these crimelords form affiliations with various pirate captains to further secure their positions, though suck alliances are unreliable and subject to the vagaries of the pirate lifestyle. Each Crimelord maintains his own small army of contacts, snitches, foot soldiers, fences, loan sharks, specialists, and favored lieutenants
(called "capps" in local parlance) the current eight crimelords are the following:
avery Slyeg
has ties to the overlord, the extent of which are yet to be determined.
He handles most of the major smuggling operations into and out of port and has a wide network of fences and black marketeers to move stolen goods and contraband.
Boss Croat
is an immensely fat half orc who runs several street gangs, and ontrols most of the trade of illicit substances on the street. He is well known for his habit of only recruiting half-orc enforcers.
Elias tammerhawk
Speaker of the order of Cyphers and the most unlikely crimelord in town,is as much a Scholar as he is a scoundrel. He is the most likely candidate for overlord should Cromarcky fall.
Saul vancaskerkin
Was formerly a major player who incurred the wrath of too many rivals. That he survived is a testament to his tenacity and luck. But he's coming back having finshed rebuilding the gold goblin gambling hall. He is opening the night you all arive with the "cheat the devil and take his gold" Tournament.
Shorafa pamodae
is the high priestess of the temple of Calistria, the house of the silken veil. Madam to all of the temple prostututes and patron of the "hospitality industry" throughout the city, she is also the city's major information broker due to the persuasive skills of her employees and their extensive clientele.
Little is known of the other too Ziphras and Varnal knocmar accept that Ziphras is thought to be a wererat.
The Cypermages

An entire tradition of arcane study has risen in the Cyphergates shadow the growing order of Cyphers has become one of Riddleports most powerful factions quite the feat in a settlement known for traditional values of piracy and bulleying. This newest faction of riddleport's allready complicated administratipn may be just what it takes to foce the growing city into a stable goverment or it may be the final load that causes it all to come crumbling down.
The Blot

The Blot as its called, is a shadow in the sky, and floats high above Riddleport, appearing to be kind of a dark cloud, but fuzzy at the edges. When it first appeared in the sky over Riddleport several weeks ago, the whole city was abuzz wonder and excitement. Since then the novelty has worn off, but various scholars and students of esoteric knowledge have been streaming into the city to witness and study it. For the more unscrupulous citizens (which is a good portion of the population), this has provided an unlooked for bounty of easy marks.
It's there every day, never seeming to get much bigger or smaller, or to move very far from its general area.
What is it? And what does it portend, if anything? Is it just a random, crazy occurrence, or is it the symptom of a deeper, darker disease?
i'll get you all to do knowledge checks but that will be later in the PBP thread
Ok first things first, this will be the first time i DM a PBP,
but i have dmed before a few times. and atleast i have time to look stuff up in a PBP.
secondly i want to run a nice slow going heavy roleplaying adventure.(which will be second darkness shadow in the sky, for starters)
Thirdly people will need to post atleast 2 times a week.
fourthly You character will need a background and reason why they are in riddleport (I would preffer it if you have the player's guide)
fithly Down to rules, Pathfinder beta rules, 2 traits, Standard Hp's for first level, average hitpoints each level,20 point buy,300 starting gold,
invisible castle for rolls,AND you all get one free skill (4 ranks)in either a craft, a knowledge, a peform, or something that would suit there background you have to ask me if it is something that is not one of the three stated skills,You can play absolutely anything as long as i either have it or you can tell me where to find it on the internet, i will even run an evil group as long as the entire party agrees or your character has a good reason that the group would except her/him.
(oh and i would preffer no drow)
sixthly i am looking for 6 players (i might take eight) if you want to be in and i am all filled up post your email and i will contact you if a spot opens,i don't mind some small player knowledge as long as you keep it very very far away from character knowledge,
(if i get lots of people at roughly the same time i will pick people who are more into Roleplaying then fighting cause i think they will enjoy it more)

I am DMing a Second Darkness group At the moment so i wouldn't be able to play in that, But i would be very interested to try one of Paizo's other adventure paths like Curse Of The Crimson Throne or Rise Of The Runelords:)
But i am more than happy to play in a different game!
