Way back in 1934 Riding the Success of King Kong RKO Pictures began looking at some other dark genre story they could turn into a film. So it was that a discussion with RE Howard was initiated. Unfortunately they had outlined a basic story and had done some initial artwork when Howard died an untimely death ending the Conan Film before it could get going. Flash forward to the 1970s-80s when a rolltop desk from a sell off of RKO Pictures stuff led to the discovery of the Artwork and primitive script outline stuffed in a secret drawer. They even had movie posters drawn up.
Lets just say it would have been huge and awesome and scary. Bigger than King Kong Scary.
Yeah, I remember back in 1993 picking up a copy of "The Savage Sword of Conan" issue 214, which contained an account of the "Blood and Ice" project, some production drawings for it, and some of the notes about the plot.
Robert Rodriguez has picked up the rights to Fire & Ice and is working on a major motion picture adaptation of the original Fire & Ice story.

(Mind you, that messageboard states strongly that the sketches look too unreal, that the article was a spoof, and that the whole thing was fake.)
