Jade Regent

Session 1-7-12

The pc’s began in and about different parts of Sandpoint, those that had known Koya and Sandru were in town for Madame Mvashtis funeral, a few weeks ago, or recently departed from Sandru’s employment when he reached Sand point from the funeral.

Shalelu had brought her recent student of survival into Sandpoint while she visited her old friend Ameiko.

one character was out at the beach watching the tide roll in …and then back out

Most of the other characters popped in at the Rusty Dragon …one of Sandpoint’s more famous inn/ tavern, while there most read the adventures wanted posters that where up on the wall.

One ask for help with dealing with a menace to the farm lands around sand point, the other dealt with a recent and growing problem with a troublesome tribe of goblins.

Viriel, saw answering one of these posters as a way to impress Ameiko. She began rounding up people she thought looked like they could handle themselves in a fight with goblins…. (After all how hard can that be)?

She first talked to a half orc named Takk, and a man by the name Aswipe'…..she was the pointed toward an elf by the name of Daedra, how seem quite sure of her skill with a bow. Next came a strange little gnome by the name of Borom. He claimed he knew his way around a fight, though unarmored Viriel belived him.

Borom pointed Viriel in the direction of the beach to ware, she found the final member of this band of adventures she was forming. At the beach was a disheveled person with only a suit of wooden armor & a club to his name, he introduced himself as Storm crow.

The party now formed they planned on leaving to hunt down goblin ears the next morning. There journey to Brine stump marsh took them about 4 days. Storm crow and Daedra began looking for signs of the goblins as soon as the party entered the marsh. It took the party a bit but the found a trail that would make traveling through the marsh a bit easier. As the day wound to a close the party found the remains of a goblin, it appeared to have been dead for some time and identifying what had killed it was next to impossible as the marsh wild life had been eating away at it for some time as well.

As the party made their way across a trail bridge they were attacked by two western Taipan water snakes, one struck Storm crow, who fell prey to the snakes deadly venom, Takk and Aswipe' moved in to engage the snakes, Takk was bitten as well and also fell prey to the venom, once the snakes where killed the rest of the party began looking over the bitten party members trying to find way to keep them from suffocating, as the snake venom began to take hold on Takk & Storm crow. Daedra managed to treat them both and they pulled through it might be days before ether one is back to full strength again.

After the hard trek through the mash and the fight with the snakes the party has decided to make camp and rest for the night.

GOOD LUCK

Session 1/21/12

During the night the party found themselves watched by some creature, Viriel gave chase but didn’t make it verey far before her commonsense kicked in. When she returned Thakk had woken up the rest of the party and let them know what had happened. Storm Crow found that the swamp inhabitants where watching the party not that any of them attacked. In the morning Viriel remembered a tale she heard about a monster that lives in the Brine Stump swamp, Viriels curiosity stired and she wanted to go looking for it.

The rest of the party wanted to continue the hunt for the goblins, so the hunt for the monster would have to wait till another time. Storm Crow, Daedra, and Borom took to trying to find the Lick toad goblins, however it seemed that Storm Crow’s lack of natural world knowledge hindered the party’s ability to travel through the swamp, or it could have been the fact that three people were trying to do the job of one. That being said the party ended up lost. As the party meandered through the swamp they stumbled upon a shack, Viriel and the others talked among themselves as to who would be the one to go and scout the place out. It was decided that Viriel would be the one to scout out the shack, after her look around Viriel knocked on the door. After a couple of knocks a Halfling opened the door, he introduced himself as Walthus and told the party that he lived swamp for some time. Walthus informed the party that he looked after the swamp, by breeding snakes, and other reptiles of the swamp. Viriel made mention of the swamp monster and Walthus reacted as if he had seen a ghost or perhaps a werewolf. Someone in the party calmed him down a bit and he agreed to get them a map of the swamp if they would leave. While Walthus went into the other room to look for a map Storm Crow wondered upstairs to the second floor and began looking through the Halflings rooms. When Walthus returned to give the party the map he noticed that one of the party members was missing. Viriel yelled for Storm Crow to come out from where he was, while Storm Crow was trying to tell everyone that he heard something upstairs Walthus shifted form and attacked the party.

The party subdued the attacker, and tied it up. Thakk killed it once he found it to be an agent of evil. They party found the real Walthus lock in a hiding room, bound and gagged. Walthus told the party of what had happed and the party decided to spend the night in Walthus’s shack before heading out after the goblins.
