I really loved the Magi-Nation CCG, particularly the innovative and interesting monsters that populated the world. Of particular interest to me were the hyrens, which were the Moonland version of dragons. So I am taking this opportunity to do some conversion work on them. So here is the first one, the forest hyren from Naroom.

Forest hyrens are the guardians of the forest. They move through the primeval woodlands of the Moonlands with great stealth seeking any threats to the natural balance. They have a particular hatred for anything related to the Core, especially darkbreed hyrens because of their ability to control other hyrens.

Rockslide hyrens are a breed that lives in the mountains of the Moonlands particularly the Kyber's Teeth region. They have rough skin that looks like it is composed of rock and soil. They are known for being ill tempered and most people would rather avoid them than deal with them. When they choose to deal with other beings they can be quite charming and diplomatic.

Thank you. I will do more as time permits. I really need to figure out how to duplicate the darkbreed hyren's Subvert ability.

This is awesome and so much better than what we did.
My second full 3.5 campaign used mostly monsters from Magic Nation. (We changed the names, but if you play the card game, you can easily figure out who they are). I started trying to convert them to PF, and if I can find the excell file I'd be happy to forward it to you if that would help your project. It was not as detailed as your descriptions though.
I can't wait to see how the rest of your beasties end up.

Iceberg hyrens prowl the cold polar regions of the Moonlands. Living in small packs like orcas or wolves, they share traits of both creatures. They are equally at home on land or on water, and usually lair in sea caves that can only be easily accessed from the ocean. Iceberg hyrens are absolutely fearless and will attack opponents who are much bigger and stronger than they are. In the words of one observer “it likes to fight foes of huge size and have taken down some that are truly titanic.”

Subvert (Sp): The darkbreed hyren can attempt to subvert another hyren 4 times per day. This ability functions identically to Dominate Monster but can only be used against creatures of the dragon type. The targeted dragon must make a DC 22 Willpower saving throw to avoid the effects of this ability. If the target makes the saving throw then it is immune to that particular darkbreed hyren's Subvert ability for 24 hours.
Darkbreed hyrens are perhaps the most reviled and hated breed of hyren in the Moonlands. This is principally because of their ability to mentally control other hyrens and force them to do their bidding. The original darkbreed hyrens were created when Core magi stole the eggs of a monarch hyren and exposed them to the evils of The Core, thus twisting and warping them into the creature they are today. Darkbreed hyrens often find service as mounts for high ranking Core nobles.

Y'know, when they released the Advanced Race Guide playtest, I made "races" for the original five regions plus the Weave. I've been trying for years to come up with an RPG system that could accurately reflect MND (sadly, I don't think d20 would pull it off so spectacularly).
If you are interested, I could post them, here or elsewhere.

I am actually working on the races as well, using the Book of Ages as a guide. However, I would appreciate your input or even posting them as alternatives to what I come up with.
