Poem inspired by Kingmaker

Kingmaker

One of my players posted a poem inspired by my group's campaign against the Stag Lord on our personal message board. We are currently about halfway through Rivers Run Red, but as you can see Kingmaker is already making an impression. I figured this thing deserved an audience, so with permission from the writer, here it is.

“The Slaying of the Stag”
Gusjlar Gennady's Songs of the Southscape

Gather round, both young and old
And listen how four heroes bold
Tracked the prey through woods and fold
Slew the Stag at Tuskmere cold

'Twixt the marshes and the rocks
Reigned the raider of the flocks
With a band of outlaw scum
Feasting on both blood and rum

“No more” said the righteous pack
As they took up sword and bow
Searched the canyons, every crack
Woods and hills both high and low

Four they were, all brave and strong
Enduring then the hardships long
Davor Drakeblood, mighty mage
Led the throng, the spell-sound sage

Calathes was at his side
A shield of faith 'gainst darkened tide
Argev Broadsword with his steel
Brought his bandit foes to heel

Hestil last, his bow in hand
Roamed the wild for lord and land
Heroes four, these fearsome men
Sought they out the Stag Lords den

With a cry of vengeful ire
Fell they 'pon the Stag lords' keep
In a battle grim and dire
The pile of bodies grew most steep

Then the Stag, when stones were red
Raised his wine-besotten head
With mighty bow he picked his shot
Followed with his blade red-hot

Hard-pressed were our heroes then
'Till one of the Stags own men
Came to rue his outlaw life
Changed allegiance midst the strife

Then the Stag Lord, cleft in twain
By friend and foe alike was slain
Yet even dead he will lament
Those four heroes Restov sent

In case anyone is wondering, the party:
-Davor, half-orc sorcerer (draconic bloodline), the ruler.
-Calathes, half-elf cleric of Iomedae, guess what spell he puts in over half his 1st level slots.
-Argev, human fighter, played by our aspiring poet. The fact that he has 8 charisma is probably the reason the poem is attributed to some other character.
-Hestil, human ranger.

Very very nice. I might polish it up and repurpose it for my own group. Kudos.

Liberty's Edge

I like it! Very cool. One of my players has created oodles of artwork and journal entries and such based on the group's Kingmaker adventures, and it's great to see what other folks have been inspired to create. I will share this with my table. :)

Very nice!!
Thank you player from me and my group, they are going to eat this up :D
