Planning to run this next week. Several posters have mentioned putting pictures of the NPCs on a piece of paper (or on the GM screen) and then X-ing them out as they die.I *love* this idea. But -- where would I find these images to download and print?
Thanks in advance,
Doug M.
I just made copies (on my all-in-one laser printer, they were simple black-and-white) of the pages with the headshots, cut them out and taped them to my screen, removing them as they died. If you have the PDF, it should be pretty easy to extract them as well.

You could always go to an office store and make color (or b&w) copies of the pages with the NPC portraits.
Or you could use portraits you like and do have access to, off the blog or free images found elsewhere on the net. After all, your players won't know if they don't look exactly like the pictures in the module. Just find the right race/gender/general description matches.

I ended up doing something different, which seems to be working out.
I printed the eight NPC names on a single page, each with room for notes. Then handed it to the PCs.
I wasn't sure if this would work! But the PCs have grabbed it and run -- they're filling the page with detailed notes on each NPC.
The only drawback seems to be that meticulous note-taking is encouraging careful thought. We're just 1/3 of the way through the adventure, and they've already pretty much cracked the case. But they've really been drawn in, so I'm OK with it.

I know a lot of the NPCs from Hangman's Noose are in one of the Face Cards decks too, but I haven't checked to see if they're all there.
There were also images of some of the NPCs posted up on the blog when it came out, I believe. (I went back through previous blogs and saved all the art locally.)
When I run it, I'm converting all the NPCs to human so I don't have the luxury of using all their face cards. (I seem to recall one is a hobgoblin?)

I made two of the characters (the hobgoblin gangster and the halfling acrobat) humans. The gangster I played as half Tony Soprano, half Mr. White from "Reservoir Dogs". Actually easier with a human!PCs are now 2/3 of the way through it -- we might finish tonight.

Let me know how it goes. I am trying to convert everything for more low-key to run it in 1890s London. Involves renaming the NPCs so they feel better in that setting too.
Bad part is I don't think my players will appreciate it any way I slice it. (They're pretty hack & slash.)
