Gamma World Character Generator

4th Edition

I know that I probably was just very slow to just discovering the Interactive Gamma World Character Sheet, but I recently discovered it, have been having a fun time just playing with it, and wanted to share it with anyone who didn't know about it either.

That is cool - I had not seen that.

We played a session of this game which was a lot of fun. Main thing I recall is one of the players rolling up a pyrotechnic kitten and of course that descended into lewdness at lightning speed.

The other issue I remember was how much transport I got in starting gear. I ended up trying to convince my DM that I could totally load my boat onto my pick up truck and then host my draft horse onto the boat and drive around like that.

I think that I have run somewhere approaching a dozen games (for groups ranging from three to nine people) and they are generally quite fun. Sometimes, they mutations have posed a problem in that, a few have the power to take someone out of the fight. If they roll well, they can take out (or at least heavily injure) the enemy/enemies of their choice with some ease. If they roll poorly, they may have just killed themselves with an illusion or disappeared from the dimension for 1-6 hours.

I haven't had to deal with the lewdness as much. At my table, it is generally the zaniness. Some players go quite far in Gamma World, pushing their desires to wield weapons and build creations that might be more silly than most of the things in Gamma World.

The equipment generated is often quite odd (matching nearly everything else in character generation). One person at one point asked, "Why do I have two keel boats?" I do note however, that, no matter how useless an item might be, they will still write it on their character sheet diligently. Because, maybe, they will find a use for that day-glo vest or exercise bike. Or, at the very least, they have lots of room in those keel boats, packed in the wagon, being towed by a truck, being pulled by a team of draft horses.

Thing is boats are actually useful for all sorts of things. At one point we where scared of being seen by an approaching patrol in the desert so we covered our boat with sand and then hid under it.

Then we tried to block some tracked robot with the boat but I think it just ran the boat over. Fortunately we have a number of replacement boats.

At this point we leave the Pick Ups and Draft Horses behind if we are going some where on foot but we always lug a boat around just in case we need it.

Be careful, the may be too much class boat, even for gamma world. I bring you back to the desert ...
