Special rules for specific horror genres

Hi!

I am a fan of horror movies and, IMHO, 13 Omens feels like a perfect TTRPG to represent these kind of movies on the table. The mechanics feel really cinematic and this makes me very excited about the game (and the reason why I decided to back it up).

I am also a huge fan of Outgunned, a line of TTRPGs that takes the excitement of the action and adventure movies to the table. The game is so customizable that it also features some supplements called Action Flicks with mini-rules for specific action genres (like martial arts, cyborgs, aliens, western, time travel, etc).

Like Outgunned, I think it would be really nice if 13 Omens would also feature optional mini-rules for specific horror genres (ghosts, demons, cursed objects, slasher, sci-fi horror, etc), so the experience could be fully customized at the GM and player's taste.

Hope you like the idea. Best regards.

Ahoy! We've got a lot of plans for 13 Omens and are excited to share them. The game can cover pretty much any kind of horror genre, but at launch we're focusing on modern supernatural horror. But even then, among the rulebook's six included stories and the numerous zines we've already unlocked, we've moved into sci-fi horror in some cases, non-supernatural horror in others, and have stories that take place ranging from modern day back to the 80s. At the time of this post, we're VERY close to unlocking a zine that presents a 13 Omens story in the fantasy setting of Pathfinder as well, which is a great proof of concept of the rules' flexibility. And then, of course, there's the licensed stories we've anounced for movies like Re-Animator, three Hammer movies, and the Wicker Man. The final rulebook will also contain advice and suggestions for Hosts to create their own stories.

We hope the game does well obviously, and thus will have the chance to explore other genres even further, but I'm confident in confirming that what we've got planned and have already annoucned will already appeal to what you're looking for.

Thanks for supporting 13 Omens!
