Greetings!
Any updates on whether or not Tales of the Vast will get FoundryVTT module?
I remember the question was asked in the last Paizo Live, but the answer could not be confirmed at the time as the person who could do so was on vacation (hope they had a good time off).
Thanks!

At this time, we are not planning a Tales from the Vast Foundry module. Since we got off to a slightly late start with Starfinder 2nd Edition, we've already released 3 Starfinder modules this year, those being Murder in Metal City, Guilt of the Grave World, and the inaugural season of 2nd Edition Starfinder Society. We do plan on releasing a module for Secrets of the Swarm when it comes out this fall, but for the time being we figured it made sense to let the existing releases breathe for a few months before releasing any new Starfinder adventure content.
That being said, just because we're not planning on a Tales from the Vast Foundry module now doesn't mean we'd never consider one in the future if we saw sufficient interest!

Hmm. This news is very, very, very disappointing. I was hoping to run it as soon as the Foundry module was out, but look like I have to manually build the adventures in Foundry -_-
Would you at least consider releasing an Foundry art pack for Tales from the Vast in the immediate future? I want to support development for TftV, not to mention save myself time building tokens and maps and handouts and what have you.

Hi. I want to take this opportunity to share interest, in the form of letting you know there's not only interest but a potential loss of revenue from lack of this support.
I'm a longtime subscriber of most of the PF2E lines, and play exclusively on Foundry VTT. Up to this point I've assumed Starfinder 2E would be supported the same way Pathfinder is, so I'm subscribed to Starfinder rulebooks, I bought Murder in Metal City Foundry VTT module and am playing it with my group right now.
We like playing longer adventures, and Tales from the Vast would almost definitely have been the thing we played alongside or after Guilt of the Graveworld.
But if there's not going to be a module for Tales from the Vast, that would suggest to me supporting Foundry VTT play for Starfinder is not enough of a priority for me to make playing Starfinder part of my plans.
This news will likely cause me to cancel my Starfinder rulebook subscription, not buy Guilt of the Graveworld, not buy Tales, etc.
I don't at all mean any of this to be negative or overly critical or any of that. I just want to stress that this decision would send a signal to me that I can't expect Starfinder to be supported in a way that makes it worth it for me to spend money on it and bring it to the table.
Thanks for reading.

Glad you had a good time off.
Alrighty - stating here my interest for Foundry Module.
If anything, this entire anthology rocks and it deserves all the (digital) love it can get!

Tossing my proverbial hat in the ring of interest for a Tales from the Vast Foundry module. The Official Foundry modules for 2e products have been an incredible boon to my GMing to the point I’ve even grabbed a couple I may not get the chance to run just to use parts from in my own games.
Even if a Foundry module doesn’t happen, something like the art asset packs included with a couple products like the Sundered Waves, Headshot the Rot, and Mark of the Mantis one-shots for PF2e would be excellent to have for more Paizo products. Before I didn’t mind ripping grabbing from the PDFs myself to run my online games but for probably good reasons it’s become harder to do so which has discouraged me from using many of the products I own. APs include the maps in PDFs but having them as discrete art assets was really quite nice.
I don’t know how much more work would be involved to ask for something like this but I think it would be something very positive for a lot of GMs, and something I would be open to helping with/contributing to if that’s possible in any way.

There will be no greater interest then when the adventures actually first releases.
Letting the others breath eh never stopped all the pf2e content before. But also it was more circumstantial because of the SF2E system not being ready right away.
I would suggest a Foundry module roadmap release schedule. This can be used to temper some expectations in the future. I know folks get excited in advance and plan for games right when they release. We also been conditioned to expect Foundry modules to be released in conjunction with the book release, for most things. This just leads to emotional disappointment when the occasional adventure doesn't get Foundry module.
This happened to me last year with Claws, I know it got made but was delayed long enough that I never bought the book and moved onto something else.
So please look into a Foundry roadmap, release schedule, coming soon page something.
And please consider a Tales module sooner rather than later. "Strike while the iron is hot"

We're in a weird place right now with Starfinder 2e content on Foundry because we started out the year playing catch-up with all the stuff we'd originally intended to release in 2025 but ended up having to delay until the system was ready for full release. The reception to Murder in Metal City, Guilt of the Grave World, Starfinder Society, and honestly Starfinder 2e in general has been amazing, but there's always going to be a point where we start seeing diminishing returns because the people who would be interested in the latest release are still working their way through the first three. We decided to try and avoid that by skipping one of the releases we'd originally planned for 2026 -- not because we don't think Tales from the Vast is awesome, or because we're giving short shrift to Starfinder in general, but because we know we can only release so many things in a quick succession before some of them inevitably won't receive the attention they deserve; so, given a choice between Tales from the Vast and Secrets of the Swarm, we just opted to keep the one that releases later in the year.
As for what makes a "yet" into a "now": if Tales from the Vast were to blow through our sales projections and become a clear smash hit beyond what anyone was expecting, of course we'd go back and reevaluate whether to turn it into a Foundry module. At the same time, at the end of the day we're still working with finite resources, so part of that decision would have to involve weighing whether we thought a late Tales from the Vast release was worth canceling plans for

but there's not some magic 1:1 transfer in sales there. Yes, there's some power users who will always buy every edition of a published adventure, but the market for physical books vs those who only buy fvtt / pdf is pretty different.
if you're just staring at your physical stock count, you're never going to account for those of us - disproportionately people outside North America - who will never be represented in sales figures without fvtt to buy to begin with. And we're not exactly going to just buy a pdf for full price in the vague hope that it might in some nebulous future years from now make that pdf applicable for secondary use in vtt with another full cost purchase. And certainly not dropping infinite money on hardcover + shipping + VAT + import fees. Especially with the increased base costs recently announced for publications, combined with the loss of the vtt discount for pdf owners.
Its like throwing sand on a fire then wondering why its not keeping you warm.

I don't agree with dimensioning returns. Don't try and guess what the market will bear. Let customers do that for you. Tales from the Vast is the highest level content released and folks were waiting for it. Society isn't for everyone, metal city is an introduction that wasn't great received that I heard and Guilt of Graveworld theme isn't for everyone but if it was it only goes to level 5. There's not much overlap to think there wouldn't be sales for Tales from the Vast.
Finite resources sure but secrets is Sept and a 6-10 level range. With SF2E being shorter it's easier to get through the content or run out of content if the style released isn't for you since there are many more styles for SF2E.
I feel like this was a misstep trying to guess the market. As someone said above, I buy the Foundry module first before I decide if I want the book and or PDF. Foundry is the catalyst if I buy one or two more products for the adventure.
Love what y'all do, but communication in advance would go a long way. I highly suggest a Foundry coming soon section of some sort.

Well here's to hoping that it will get a release. The released content so far has already been exhausted by my group and has been homebrewed for a while.

Even though this was the post that was flagged for double post, it's clearly the post we'll keep since Andrew has been communicating with all of you on it, so I'm clearing this flag and keeping this one. As a word for the wise, when you see double posts, please flag the one that should be removed, rather than the one that definitely belongs!

Sorry about that!
Didn't realize that the post got dupped until you said something right now.
I blame weird website shenanigans for this cause I only did one post.

I am really annoyed by this unpleansantly late announcement, I had already planned to run this adventure online, seems it will just take me more time to prep it.
Similarly to how Paizo only released physical pawn packs for an AP when it was fully releases, I doubt that releasing the Foundry version later will have the same impact as making it availble on release.
Having already run Murder in Metal City online and offline, having run all the SFS2 scenarios offline... I am not really in the market for Guilt of the Graveworld, it is just not what I am looking for right now.
So my options are to do something more tedious and prep it myself or look for another game to play or run.
I am dissapointed that this was not communicated earlier.

In fact, both guessing the market and making decisions based on existing market information are understandable. The question is, could you have communicated with everyone in advance? In my view, doing so would have calmed many clients' emotions and also allowed GMs using VVTT to better plan their own session schedules. This decision doesn’t seem like it was made overnight, does it?

Just adding to the chorus that I was looking forward to running this or at least cannibalising it after having run both murder in the metal city and battle for nova rush (with the premium playtest module).
Like others, I'd not been interested in the flavour and meta narrative of guilt of the graveworlds or society (though the latter i did purchase the foundry module for).
I'm pretty time poor so the considerable weight of prep a module takes off my shoulders is necessary. I'm always impressed by the level of quality of modules, particularly when it's metamorphic.

Hello,
A bit disapointed to read your answer Andrew as I was expecting a module for every Starfinder AP and I will purchase each of it
I received my subscription shipment and went through Tales of the vast. This AP has a huge potential, each individual story being standalone and some of them could easily be run after Guilt of the grave world.
I really wish you could reconsider you decision and make us happy and able to play them on VTT without that much preparation overhead

I see your posts and reasoning, but... I am disappointed. At least we have Pathfinder releases coming. We will see Pathfinder releases, right? Your not going to start skipping Pathfinder releases to let things breathe? I mean the price goes up and now with less than a months notice you announce that you are skipping a release. Makes it hard to plan for a campaign, trying to get 7 people to agree on a proposed module. I guess I am just spoiled by the level of support for Foundry and when you skip something there just not a lot of choices for people who play online only.
