In the thread about names, someone suggested Momentum as alternative name for Adrenaline and several people preferred it (including myself). I later dreamed up Edge, hoping another RPG hasn't used it already (like say advantage). Setting aside whether Adrenaline is an anachronism, my issue is that the mechanics feels non-adrenal.
Brainstorm if you will how adrenaline might grant bonus abilities and likely you'll list strength, focused perception/losing perception elsewhere, heart racing, maybe unnatural durability, reaction time, or fearlessness. If taken from an extreme sports angle, add maybe a joyful rush and tingle, maybe getting psyched up. And then there'd aftereffects, often a sickening in the stomach, dizziness, fatigue, perhaps chills. The mechanics capture only a fraction of that (and some of it difficult to differentiate from the (often greater) danger of combat or coming late game). Adrenaline seems unrelated to these feats; gymnastics mixed with Athletics Attack maneuvers. While I don't want to tread on Rage abilities, if we're keeping the label let's dive into such things; temp h.p., bonus to lifting/pushing, some downside afterward. None of this flipping on/off with every flip. Cartwheels and hopping shouldn't spark Adrenaline when already facing a dragon or death incarnate. If meant to push a certain playstyle, have Adrenaline last until the end of their next turn (instead of the start) so they have to keep taking Risky action to keep it pumping, yet without the odd hiccups in between. And reward it more, the class needs plumping anyway.
OR
Change the name to Momentum (or Edge), which both reasonably come and go in an instant, better reflect the current mechanics of the class, and won't mislead those expecting an effect with more physiological impact. Momentum suggests those leaps and tumbles one finds in the feats and implies the frequent shoving of enemies and pushing off Props. Edge in turn reflects the positioning and distractions, while both address the ebbs and flows of combat and might inspire more feats, both to gain and take advantage of Momentum or Edge.

I'm no scientist but when I think about "having adrenaline" I think of a state that allows someone to do something they normally wouldn't be able to in a normal situation, more specifically things they physically wouldn't be able to do, but that they can do now because they are at life-threatening danger.
The daredevil isn't that though. As it has been said before, the class doesn't feel risky and its best features are still a bit undercooked or undertuned. I like momentum since it goes along with the whole "inertia" the class seems to have going on, but I think that ideally the class should deliver on its risk/reward loop so adrenaline is fitting in that sense.

The word "Prop" bothers me more than "adrenaline," but in the long run, "adrenaline" should be reserved for an Athlete class.
Neither Momentum nor Edge give the sense of daring that should be in a daredevil. How about "Thrill" or "Excitement"?
"Risk" would be the simplest word. Risky actions create Risk.

"Edge" is used a ton in other TTRPGs, so probably not that one. "Momentum" is already a term for how well each turn builds on the last in meta discussions, so that might be a bit confusing as well, but it does work thematically.

Definitely not "edge". I'm tired of the jokes already, and they haven't started.
Yeah...I hadn't factored in lords and/or sex acts. *sigh*
Risky bringing Risk should work...once Risky actions get risky. Funny thing is I fear gambling with my PC, yet here I am advocating for Daredevils needing more. I think that indicates how sparse it is (other than playing a Daredevil in the first place w/ its fragile chassis).

One thing that struck me is that having Risk (or being At Risk) suggests other situation that might ignite the status. Things such as becoming Off-Guard to an opponent, having Status penalties (tying in to Drunken Master or being Frightened), maybe having low h.p., and so forth. This would help with the class's resilience while being on theme re: risk/reward.

I don't think I hate "Thrill", it has the implication of risk while keeping the excitement and movement aspect of "adrenaline" or "momentum".

Stunts.
I think we should call Risky actions Stunts. It retains the element of risk w/o being defined by having risk (which many Risky actions lack). But even the risk-free Risky actions are stunts. And it meshes well with Adrenaline (though that IMO should be changed unless more physiological aspects are added). (And it's not like Slayers call their Trophies Rewards.)
