Combat Grab

Rules Discussion

Combat Grab states you must have a hand free. If my hands are occupied however I have a jaws attack that has the Grapple trait, will that suffice?

RAW: No, a free jaw is not a free hand.

RAI: I'd probably still not allow it, to be honest. It's preventing Combat Grab (which is already a very powerful feat) from being used with two-handed weapons or weapon + shield. I think it's a balancing factor and I wouldn't touch it.

Its one of those things that a GM will have to make an individual call on, but that would also allow any weapon with the grappling trait to do the same.

Fully raw though, yes any unarmed attacks you might have are not free hands unless they are your literal hands and you arent holding anything, And the grapple trait says you ignore the requirement when using Grapple with the athletics skill, Combat grab doesn't use Grapple nor the athletics skill.
