Legendary Comics Writer Peter David Dies At 68
Sad to hear. He was a great writer. Rest in Peace.

I heard from a friend that David had surmounting medical bills, which were preventing him from getting further treatment that he needed. How tragic.
For me, Peter David's iconic comics run was his work on the Uncanny X-Men, which defined the series for decades afterward. The stories and characters introduced there have been major players in the X-Men for decades.

I am not by any stretch of the imagingation a STAR TREK fan. I love 2 of the movies (WHARTH OF KHAN and UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY) and I like DEEP SPACE NINE.
But just on the strength of Peter David's name I read almost every Star Trek novel he wrote and enjoyed them immensely.
His run on THE INCREDIBLE HULK is just as defining as Claremont's run on UNCANNY X-MEN or Giffen's run on LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES or Byrne's run on the FANTASTIC FOUR.
His run on X-FACTOR is less heralded but in my eyes just as GREAT.
I was just listening to an old (2010) podcast interview with him and I've met him in person once or twice and his wit and humor always shone through.
RIP PETER DAVID.
