Has Paizo committed to higher quality art in PDFs?

Digital Products General Discussion

Hey Everyone,

I've got a lot of Pathfinder and Starfinder books on my shelf, but most of my group plays online. I know it's been an issue for quite some time that the art assets found in pretty much all PDFs are low quality and quite unusable.

Paizo seems to prioritize lower file sizes at the expense of making maps, character portraits, and art spreads incredibly low resolution.

Has Paizo said anything on trying to improve the digital experience outside of Foundry VTT? Zip files with art assets sold alongside or separately from PDFs even? I would hope going into Starfinder 2e and with the success of Pathfinder 2e, we would get these resources in a usable way.

Thanks!

You're absolutely right—many players have raised concerns about the low-resolution art assets in Paizo's PDFs, especially for online play. While Paizo has made improvements within platforms like Foundry VTT, there's still a clear demand for standalone, high-quality assets like maps and character art in usable formats. So far, they haven’t officially announced plans for broader downloadable art packs, but with the upcoming Starfinder 2e, it’s a great time for them to step up digital support.

Just like how players expect better digital tools, businesses today expect better tech. That’s where EvaCodes ( https://evacodes.com/) comes in — a leading blockchain development company offering scalable, secure, and innovative solutions for Web3, NFT, and gaming projects.

We don't currently have plans for this, but thanks for letting us know it's wanted! If we do make any changes to those plans, we'll be sure to announce them!
