Alright, that is enough for me to get an idea of what it will do...
The creature continues to sway...
Another Will save from everyone, so for those who have not rolled yet, give me two.
Round 1: N, Bodham, Dickey, Malkiel, Nicolae, Dolre

![]() |

Will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Knowledge Religion: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21 To identify, if it's an undead. If it is and if the roll succeeds, my questions are in order: DR? What special attack is he currently using on us? Elemental Resistances?
Bodham closes on the strange skeleton from the chasm and brings down his flail on him.
Heavy Flail (Bludgeoning, Cold Iron): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 111d10 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

![]() |

@Bodham: You are positive that it is not undead.
Also, please take a look at the map - it is a 5' wide ledge, and you are at the other end of the party from the monster - in order to reach it, you will have to go all the way around the pit.

![]() |

Dolre seeing this strange creature pulls out her bow and attempts to hit it
shortbow: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 - 4 = 19<<-4 for in combat
I am not sure if you are giving cover or not. Please add -4 if you are
dice=damage]1d6[/dice]

![]() |

So... You were planning to stay at the door, when the rest of the party was crossing the room? My understanding was that you were stopping at the door and peering inside, before the party entered the room (nothing triggers at that point). Once the party entered, we returned to normal marching order to cross the room.
If you want to be at the door, that is fine; it just means you will be by yourself... and you will still be affected by the creature.

Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Dickey pulls out his violin and starts playing an inspirational ditty.
Inspire courage for everyone, +1 to hit and dmg dice rolls

![]() |

Dickey pulls out his violin, and starts playing an inspirational ditty.
Malkiel is mesmerised by the creature's swaying. (Dazed for 2d4 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2 rounds.)
Nicolae is mesmerised by the creature's swaying. (Dazed for 2d4 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6 rounds.)
Dolre is mesmerised by the creature's swaying. (Dazed for 2d4 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4 rounds.)
The creature continues to sway.
Will saves from Dickey and Bodham, please.
Round 2: N, Bodham, Dickey, Malkiel, Nicolae, Dolre

![]() |

Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Dickey's mouth drops open and a trickle of saliva starts running down from the corner of his lip while he stares at the snake's rhythmic movement.

![]() |

Phew, at least it's dazed and not stunned. 2d4 is tough, though. Too bad Dickey doesn't have the Lingering Performance feat...
Will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21 You can't daze a crazy mind!
Bodham prays Groetus for divine favor (+2 attack/+2 damage with Fate's Favored), then moves closer to the skeletal snake, getting ready to strike the beast down. (moving 4 squares in the monster's direction, please put me in front of the northern door so that I have a charge line for next round)

![]() |

@Nicolae: Yes.
Bodham calls for the blessings of Groetus, and moves closer.
Dickey's eyes glaze over. 2d4 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7
Malkiel snaps out of his daze.
The creature continues to sway.
I need Will saves from Malkiel and Bodham.
Round 3 N, Bodham, Dickey (6), Malkiel, Nicolae (4), Dolre (2)

Will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 Using my shirt reroll, GM 2 stars
Will: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 5 + 2 = 17 Hopefully it'll be enough!
Bodham angrily gazes at the creature, then charges it with all his might, attempting to crush the bones with his heavy flail.
"Groetus's might will bring you down! This is the end times for you and you alone!"
Heavy Flail (cold iron, divine favor, charge): 1d20 + 2 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 2 + 2 = 111d10 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 3 + 2 = 14
However, the powerful blow is slow and easily avoidable for the creature.
AC is lowered by 2 until my next action. Consequently, Bodham's AC is 14 for now... should the creature want to change her highly diversified tactics!

![]() |

Things that might alter its tactics have, as yet, not happened.
Bodham, for a moment, feels his insane certainty slipping away, but steels himself, and charges forward! Unfortunately, his aim is off, and he misses the creature completely.
Malkiel once again finds himself mesmerised. 2d4 ⇒ (3, 2) = 5
Round 4: N, Bodham, Dickey (5), Malkiel (4), Nicolae (3), Dolre (1)
Bodham, it's up to you - but first, give me another will save...

![]() |

Will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Bodham resists valiantly and smashes the skeletal remains with all his might, yet for all his courage the dwarf is reckless and misses his mark completely.
Heavy Flail (cold iron, divine favor): 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 2 = 81d10 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 3 + 2 = 13
AC back to normal by the way.

![]() |

Bodham swings, but misses his mark completely.
The creature continues to sway...
Round 5: N, Bodham, Dickey (4), Malkiel (3), Nicolae (2), Dolre (0)
Bodham, it's up to you - but first, give me another will save...

![]() |

Will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
"Sway away, it won't get you far. Awaken yourself sister, let us smash to bits this beast of brittle bones!" he calls to Dolre, hoping to shake her awake from the pseudo-skeleton's enthralling dance.
Another swing from his flail is heard, yet this time it seems to benefit from a better aim.
Heavy Flail (cold iron, divine favor): 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 + 2 = 161d10 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 2 = 8

![]() |

Bodham swings at the creature, and this time hits, cracking a few bones, but the beast hardly seems to notice.
Dolre comes to her senses...
The Creature does seem to have noticed Bodham, but makes a last-ditch attempt to quieten him, continuing to sway.
Round 6: N, Bodham, Dickey (3), Malkiel (2), Nicolae (1), Dolre
Will saves from Bodham and Dolre, please

![]() |

Will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
His mind impervious to the skeletal creature's boring sway, Bodham joyfully bashes the creature again!
Heavy Flail (bludgeoning, cold iron, divine favor): 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 + 2 = 191d10 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 2 = 9

![]() |

Will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Dolre shakes her mind clear and attacks.
bow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6

![]() |

Bodham delivers another solid hit.
Dolre shakes off her lingering malaise, and fires her bow at the creature... which barely seems to notice.
The Creature finally turns its attention to Bodham...
Bite: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26, for 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 damage.
...delivering a solid bite.
@Bodham: I need a Fortitude save. This is *not* a poison effect.
Round 7: N, Bodham, Dickey (2), Malkiel (1), Nicolae (0), Dolre
Bodham and Dolre are up.

![]() |

Addendum: Of course, it helps if I notice when I roll a crit threat...
Crit Confirmation: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17, for an *ADDITIONAL* 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 damage.
...the creature's bite proves to be more savage than it first appeared, and Bodham collapses to the ground, unconscious.
I still need that Fort save, I am afraid :-/
Bodham to stabilise, and Dolre to act.

![]() |

Whenever Dickey's up, he's going to attempt to identify whether the thing is undead and any weaknesses it might have...
Knowledge(religion): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10

![]() |

Dolre, yes you can move through our squares in general, and since he's helpless, you can stand in Bodham's square. And I think he's up at the monster...the map's a little old

![]() |

You can move through allies' squares, but you can't end your turn in an ally's square unless they are helpless; so you *could* move through Dickey at Nicolae's squares, but because they are only dazed, you can't end your turn there, although you could end your turn in Bodham's square.
At present, you are suffering from the same problem that Bodham did - because the ledge is only 5' wide, in order to reach the creature in melee, you either have to wait for it to knock-down Nicolae, or go around the pit like Bodham did.

![]() |

Dolre fires again
Ray of frost: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 touch attack
damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2
Ha that should avoid his dr

![]() |

Well, let's keep things moving. Dolre can make her confirmation roll when she gets back.
Bodham continues to bleed.
Nicolae snaps out of his daze.
Dolre fires a bolt of frost at the creature, hitting it squarely.
For its part, the Creature, reacting to Dolre's ranged attack, returns to swaying.
Round 8: N, Bodham, Dickey (1), Malkiel (0), Nicolae, Dolre
Will saves from Nicolae and Dolre.

![]() |

Dolre smiles and says "Not this time and fires again"
Ray of Frost: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 touch attack
Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 3
My sons says I am trowing magical tiny pebbles at him, but its working
