I never saw any of the movies, but I loved the TV movies in the early 70's.
It was too bad there were only 7 episodes.
It was part of a weekly movie combo like Columbo, McCloud and McMillian and Wife - alternating between different characters.
Unfortunately, the show it was partnered with (according to IMDb) sucked and lead to its early demise.
I didn't even remember the other show.
Rest in Peace.

He's a complicated man. And nooone understands him but his woman....
He will be deeply missed. I enjoyed his work.
