Kineticists and Thaumaturge Dedication

If I'm reading things right, RAW, a Kineticist's Elemental Blast would not benefit from the Glimpse Vulnerability action granted by the Thaumaturge Dedication, as GV only applies to Weapon and Unarmed Strikes.

Is that the case, or am I missing something obvious?

I believe you are correct

That's correct. Elemental blast is an impulse. It is neither a weapon attack not an unarmed strike, and thus Glimpse Vulnerability does not apply.

In general, Kineticist impulses don't benefit from out-of-class feats and features. They were specifically designed that way so that they could reach their max potential without such fiddling.

And because it is easier to balance something that does not interact with effects from outside the class.

Forget out-of-class interactions, Exploit Vulnerability doesn't work with Thaumaturge's own Wand Implement.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Nor spells from Scroll Thaumaturgy. Those things give them options.
