Favorite Class

Pathfinder Second Edition General Discussion

What is your favorite class and sell me onto it.

Alchemist. Definitely Alchemist. There's always something I can do, no matter what the situation is. Plus, melting enemies with multiple types of persistent damage is a lot of fun.

I'm a huge fan of the wizard. In a roleplay and mechanical sense, you are the problem solver of the group. Run into a problem? Sure, let me solve that for you. I've got all the knowledges ready to Recall and more spells than you can shake a stick at.

In the metagame aspect, I enjoy being the one who has more complexity on their plate. I enjoy curating a list of spells to shore up any weaknesses that my party has while also specializing into my own area of expertise. Of my wizards, I've played an evoker who just blasts through everything with true strike attack spells, a melee Staff Nexus transmuter with the Mauler dedication who jumps around the battlefield to do control work, and a shy, Bon Mot'ing illusionist who tries to stop combats before they ever begin. Even the most similar wizard plays so differently depending on your depth of knowledge of the system.

I've been spending every single moment of my existence on this very forum talking about either hom hyped I am for Kineticists's release, how hyped I am to play a Kineticist whenever I actually get the chance, how sad I am that I still have not found a group to play Kineticist, or what I am gonna do whenever I actually get to play a Kineticist.
I think it's fair to say that my favorite class, despite not having played it yet (which WILL change soon, thankfully), is the Kineticist.
It fits in a lot of tropes that I really like, being "Unlimited magic", "Power from within", "Elemental magic" and "Free handed magic".
It has enough customisation to go for lots of different builds, dual elements comes as early as character creation if you want to go for it, and you get just enough feats to grab interesting impulses to use, which all do something on their own (Some are better than others, of course).

When I was playing Kineticist in 1e it was blast first and then maybe do some stuff on the side, and my ability to blast good was ultimately limited by burn which is a daily ressource.
Now, I do cool stuff with some blasting on the side, limited by action economy which is a round by round ressource, which I much prefer.

Also I mean. Come on. I'm the avatar. How cool is that?

Silver Crusade

My standby is the druid.

It is so incredibly versatile (especially useful in PFS).

Can be a decent front liner, a healer, a blaster, a utility caster. Wisdom based gives you lots of useful skills. Lots of flavour baked into the class.

Assuming you play it as it is designed (taking advantage of its versatility) you'll be able to contribute just about always and be the star of an encounter enough times to be satisfying.

I'd probably have to say the druid. That is the class I seem to play the most. Its versatility is second to no class in the game. Its build options are great. It has the most focused and advantageous stats: Str, Dex, Con, Wis. You can pile all your stat bonuses into those four stats for maximum benefit.

They can do damage of nearly every kind, heal, scout, make travel easier, and can combine to do many different things all in one class.

The druid is a very well designed, focused, and effective class that can use every resource type in the game well from martial weapons to spells to focus point resources. They have good action economy you can make better with feats as you rise in level.

The druid is a class it's hard to stop playing because of how much you can do. I never lack for an effective action with a druid.

I never much played druids in PF1. So it was a surprise the druid would be my favorite class in PF2 as I can't even recall the last time I played a druid in PF1 or 3E or any version of D&D in the past. This is the first time the druid has been at the top of my class list.

The PF2 druid is very, very good in the new PF2 group paradigm.

My favourite martial is the Monk. I just love the freedom to do whatever I want during my turn thanks to FoB. Ki powers are also amazing and really fun to use. They also get Whirling Throw, which just fills me with joy whenever I use it.

My favourite caster is Bard. Not only I like the flavor a lot (I love the idea of being the music or the storyteller of a group of adventurers) and gameplay-wise it just hits the spot for me. I like playing support and the Bard is the best at it.

I am a man who loves Cleric and Champion. There is just something about serving a tangible, deity that can be proven exists where you know worshipping them is for a higher cause. Sure I feel Cleric and Champion need better feats but in a future campaign when the Remaster drops I will be playing a cleric vampire of a death god, darkness, secrets and undeath. Of course custom homebrew setting based loosely on Fire Emblem, Diablo, Darkness Dungeon and of course Bloodborne.

My longest character was a level 16 Goblin Champion Paladin and it was ALOT of fun. Kineticist has to be up there as well for fun, just SO, MANY, THINGS, TO, DO!

alchemist for me I love fantasy science then gunslinger because I like the idea of blackpowder guns & magic coexisting . Exemplar because it's literally a demigod class!

I'm not sure that I have a favorite class. I like Witch. I like Swashbuckler. I am liking the new and unreleased Animist.

Absolutely not. Choose your favorite class for yourself.

favorite would be thaumaturge if not for the cha key ability

so many interesting feat give much needed versatility to martial class

Alchemist is interesting and having to find the right amount of items is intriguing. Also crafter's appraisal is the perfect match for this class. I haven't had the chance to see persistent damage to take off considering that we are fighting swarms mostly that die quickly.

I also played summoner. But as a summoner I feel like I am counting actions more than anything else.

I'd have to say Psychic, Thaumaturge and Kineticist stand out as the most interesting to me and are probably my favorites

Horizon Hunters

Easily Kineticist. From a mechanics perspective it is just perfect for me. Every feat is just pure fun for me and you get so many.

Witch (never played the 1e, only 2e, so no prior bias). A very flexible theme, has some fun flavor even if the mechanics are weak. The Remaster Witch looks excitably good, though the Playtest Animist seems to blow it out of the water.

Sell it? Hahaha. Ya, I know what happens to anyone who tries to sell Premaster Witch.
