Looking for a small amount of guidance on Strand of Prayer Beads

Rules Questions

Is it possible to add a bead to a strand of prayer beads? For example I as a player would like to add an additional "bead of healing". Is that more of a GM decision or is that something that is implied by bead values in the core rule book?

Any thoughts or clarification is much appreciated!!

Liberty's Edge

Strictly RAW only the lesser, standard, and greater Strands of Prayer Beads exist. You could find or buy a strand missing some beads, but not add new beads.

That notwithstanding, the Strands are slotless items and I see no reason to prevent someone from adding beads to them.

The Exchange

GM decision.

PFS specifically said "no customized Strands of Prayer Beads" in order to keep games in balance. Buying just a bead of karma would have been a very popular purchase.

Having said that, if your GM is OK with it the pricing for each bead is right there in the item description.

Prayer Beads [slotless] $9600/45800/95800.

classically it is called an "upgrade".
Yes, it will require GM approval as it is one way to increase bonuses/effects rather cheaply thus the Org Play ban on custom items.
