So I'm looking for an AP as my first attempt into a full campaign after I finish beginner box (if my players decide they want more pathfinder afterwards, hopefully they do!)
Gatewalkers caught my eye, the premise sounds cool and ohh, deviant abilities! Everyone gets one? A weird mutation? Man, there must be lots of really cool choices for themes--
Three.
There's three different deviant classifications.
I'm wondering if anyone has made homebrew deviant classifications that I can stare at and get ideas from to add even just a couple more choice options.

there are rules on how to build them in the Dark Archive.

Yeah I know, but no ones made any (publically shared) homebrew that I could use as an extra starting point?
Well I suppose I'll try to take up the hat then.
Ideas:
Ooze
Lycanthrope (just reflavoured troll because it's easy to get stuck on the name)
Elemental (just reflavoured dragon)
Golem?
Will report back if I manage to get past procrastination.

I'd like to see them. Maybe give a pass myself based possibly on the 1e Corruptions, which I really like... Promethean might be fun...

Quick question: In regards the deviant feats blasting beams when it says Make an attack roll against a creature within 30 feet. Does it means Dex or str based attacks?
Seems like it would be dex based as it is ranged.

I had a fun playing up the deviant abilities of a certain druid. I plan to add more so that every book has deviant abilities boss. Maybe even every chapter but that is probably a lot more work than I expect.
Every one of my players chose the same deviant feat, so I will be able to use some of the other feats in their opponents.
To the OP's point I would like to add some more and am thinking of these few.
Leach: drain an opponent and use some of their strength, dexterity, charisma, etc.. (X-Men's Rogue)
Mindlink: good at languages, sending mental messages, knowing where allies/enemies are. (Charles Xavier)
Metal-kinesis,
Condition remover-strait up healing, or some PF1 paladin mercies.
Yeah I know, but no ones made any (publically shared) homebrew that I could use as an extra starting point?
Ideas:
Ooze
Lycanthrope (just reflavoured troll because it's easy to get stuck on the name)
Elemental (just reflavoured dragon)
Golem?
For the ooze, I would start out with stretchy powers, grow to shapchanging (tool making more than polymorph) and eventually able to turn into a puddle.
Golem might include some resistances (B/S/P) or to specific spells. Ability to go inspector gadget might be fun.| Tao_of_Jeff |
Hey there Twiggies (and everyone)
New to the forums, so bear with me.
I stumbled across this post today, and wanted to let you know I attempted a new series of Deviant Feats all based on Oozes. I posted them on REDDIT last week, so if you'd like to check them out over there and leave any feedback, I'd appreciate it.
Feel free to use whatever ideas or concepts you'd like from them.
Thanks.

*she did not get past procrastination*
Thank you for the extra ideas Curaigh! Unfortunately it'll take me a while because I ended up deciding to run another AP but hopefully I can wrangle my brain to hyperfocus on this for a day or two at some point.

Oh cool! Unfortunately I can't access it since reddit's killed the app I use to browse it :') (and also because I think its closed today anyway) but I'll see if I can get access to it later.

I am currently writing up 4 for publication. Two are going through playtesting now.

I have decided the Obsidian Order's top two folks will both have 'deviant abilities.' I put that in quotes as it mostly flavor. My players start book two this week. :)
Ghodrak the Quick moves with blazing speed. Every time he moves (especially Into the Fray) fires surround him. Essentially the monk's flying kick feat, with bonus fire damage if successful in the strike.
I am also planning to have the ley lines effect the deviant feats, though I am not quite sure how. Whatever I decide the Obsidian Oath will demonstrate it to my players and I hope to encourage them to use their abilities more.
