Is Pathfinder 2e and Starfinder compatiable

PaizoCon General Discussion

As the subject reads, is Pathfinder 2e and Starfinder compatiable? Could I take a 2e character and play in a Starfinder adventure. Of similar levels of course.

No, they're completely different systems.

Actually I believe they are the same systems. Pf2e and Sf2e are both compatible and are based on the same systems. Although, your GM might want to watch out, because specific ancestries and augmentations can give you flight or darkvision way too early.
Good Luck in your Campaign!

There are rules and advices in the SF2 GM core for anachronistic adventures with PF2. Some class are easier to port between the two setting (I'd say cleric vs mystic).

The is a topic in the two forum, "chocolate in your peanut butter" that adress exactly that question.

This is a trap with thread necromancy. The answer can change with time, but old posts were accurate when written.

Phaedre posted in May 2023 when the only edition of Starfinder was 1st Edition. It was similar to both Pathfinder 1st Edition and Pathfinder 2nd Edition, but was not compatible.

Eryx Marrow's post today (November 2026) refers to Starfinder 2nd Edition, released in 2025. It is compatible with Pathfinder 2nd Edition. It has some differences that Eryx Marrow mentioned that adapt it better to a science fiction scenario, and two additional skills: Computers and Piloting. However, those differences do not prevent compatibility.
