I am looking at starting up a game as a DM for a group of friends of mine.
How would I get the PDF maps up, and register the game as a game from the recruitment screen.
Any help would be appreciated.

You don't register the game from the Recruitment thread. In fact, if you've already got your players don't bother with a recruitment post. Instead, start by going to the Play-by-Post Discussions subforum and creating a thread. Call it something appropriate; "DM Mokshai's Campaign Discussion," for example. Once you've put up the first post, the boards software will ask you if you're creating a campaign. Answer yes.
Now navigate to the Play-by-Post subforum and create your Gameplay thread. Call it something appropriate. When you've made your first post to the thread, the boards software will ask you if that thread should be associated with the campaign you just created. Answer yes.
With that, you have a campaign. I keep my maps on Google Drive and put links in the Campaign Info tab. You do that by clicking that tab from the Gameplay or Discussion tabs and clicking "Edit this campaign." You can then paste links into the various fields using the url code.
