So I have a few reaper bones miniatures (mostly familiars) that are tiny creatures - I like to have everything on actual bases, but a standard 25mm base seems a bit too big for my taste. I could try just doing a lot of extra stuff on the base to make it into a mini-diorama type thing, but would be really nice if I could get my hands on bases similar to the ones that the wizkids miniatures use for their familiars and gnomes and stuff (they seem like they might be 15mm?) - wizkids only seem to sell 25mm bases and up separately, and most of the good base manufacturers only seem to do 25mm and up.
Anyone know somewhere where I can get small round bases of a similar material/quality to GW or Wizkids bases? I would prefer something like the GW bases (they are very stable and sturdy) but something like the flat wizkids bases are okay. Cork or wood bases are definitely not eligible.

Seriously, though... Etsy?
Oh, if I wanted wood bases I already found those from Litko, I was looking for plastic ones (I'm not sure about using wood bases as wood tends to warp when you apply paint or glue to it)
Great reference though!

By the mid-aughts, my eyesight had deteriorated to the point where I couldn't really paint minis anymore. I have scores of minis from the '80s and '90s where I used square wood bases, and none have warped at all over the past 25+ years.
Back then, I would paint the top of the bases with Elmer's glue and sprinkled railroad grass or sand for a "naturalistic" finish. I'd paint the side and bottom with flat black enamel.

Late to this and it looks like Peachbottom's link has plastic bases for a surprisingly good price.
But for what it's worth, I use wood bases too sometimes and have not had any problem with them. Priming/painting/sealing should prevent any issue with warping, unless you store your minis in a bucket of water. As Haladir alludes, they will look no different from any other base once you add terrain effects, and the glue and terrain will also help protect the wood.
In the case of 15 mm/half inch round bases I can't find cheaper wood bases, but for future projects FYI often craft supplies (wood or otherwise) will be much cheaper than what game stores will charge for similar items and will last as long and look no different once painted and decorated. Often when I need larger bases I go for craft tiles in various materials rather than by from a game or hobby company.
