So does anybody know any 2e source that would stat how much damage ballista deal?

We have the Animated Trebuchet.

Next week I will work on my own homebrew conversion of the PF1 catapults and trebuchets for my PF2 conversion of Assault on Longshadow. They have hired craftsmen to make catapults for the walls of Longshadow before the Ironfang Legion arrives.
I am also going to have to create a PF2 traction trebuchet, because the PCs are on a mission to destroy the counterweight trebuchets that the Ironfang Legion already built. The simpler traction trebuchet is the only replacement the legion could make in the time before the attack.
This week I am still busy creating new troop units for the Ironfang Legion.

I’m running a naval campaign at the moment and my players wanted a ballista, so I grabbed my Ballista mini from Wizkids’s D&D set Tyranny of Dragons, and what I’ve come up with so far is that it will count as a Large Heavy Crossbow attached to a stand. The stand will allow a Medium or Small creature to fire it without having to hold it or suffer the Clumsy condition, and the added stability grants it a +4 circumstance bonus to damage. As per the mini, the whole thing is a medium object, it fires only forward, and the the firer must stand behind it, which means changing it’s facing will require at least a step if not a stride. This is basically adjunct to the vehicle rules from the GMG, so a little facing shouldn’t hurt.
I need to work out some rules either for moving the whole apparatus around or for setting and removing the Crossbow and a separate Bulk figure for the stand. I haven’t decided on that yet.
I decided on the +4 circumstance bonus to damage because that’s that’s the damage bonus a Cyclops gets when firing it’s Large Heavy Crossbow, and it seems significant but not OP. The current rules iteration will likely get its first try-out tonight.
