Solitary Rituals: Create Demiplane

Pathfinder Second Edition General Discussion

Is there a way for a single person to perform the Create Demiplane ritual? I couldn't find anything, but I thought to ask you fine folks.

Is there or is it always going to be a group activity?

It appears you'll always need at least one other person. The Flexible Ritualist feat reduces it to 2 secondary casters, and your familiar can fill in one of the roles. But I don't know of any ways to fill in the last secondary caster.

Well shucks.

Although what about a using a called or conjured creature to help?

You can use the Ritualist Archetype to do so. You'll essentially need to disregard a critical fail from low level help (Create Undead), and have your familiar do one check and only fail, and then succeed at your 2 checks.

This works fine, in theory, if you can get one with a high enough bonus. Or manage to work around their inevitable failure. One of the two.

Presumably, Summoner Ritualists will be able to pull this off thanks to their eidolon. We'll see, though.

It is a recurring theme with some of my characters to seek and/or attain demigod status and the idea of them needing help to build their divine realms seems off to me.

We don't have demigod rules in PF2 yet, and there's no mythic planned. My recommendation would be that whatever houserules you include to support it have a something to cover this. The ritual rules are for regular characters, not demigods.

If you play in Golarion, there's always the test of the Starstone.

What can I say. My mind bounces between the editions in my mental wanderings.

There's also the idea of "This is my demiplane and I want complete ownership of it."

Just geas/charm/dominate some more or less permanent ritual helpers.

Grand Archive

A reasonable house rule would be either:

You get a cumulative -2 on each check you perform per secondary spot you cover for. (Obviously the ritual feat would not count toward this.)

Or

You get a cumulative -4 on each successive secondary spot you cover for.(Obviously the ritual feat would not count toward this.)

I don't mean to say you shouldn't be playing demigods; I'm just saying that since it's houserules anyway, you might want to include a minor divine realm option in there.
