If you click the little "x" next to the Gameplay link on your Campaigns tab when there's a new post, that will hide it. You can also go to the Play-by post Online Campaigns link, and click the "Hide" button next to the specific gameplay thread. It has to be that thread; hiding the discussion thread won't remove the campaign from your list. Finally, you can also ask the GM to remove you from the active players list.

And if the GM can't or won't hide you, if you just don't post in a campaign for long enough (three months, I guess? I'm not sure), the campaign will automatically move to your Inactive Campaigns list.
I've only seen a campaign fall off my list after no one had posted in the Gameplay thread for three months, and my recollection is that the communal PFS/SFS threads didn't go away even after I hadn't posted in Gameplay for several months.

I seem to recall getting annoyed that someone posted two months after a campaign went inactive (the GM ghosted), but was pleasantly surprised when it fell to inactive status a month later.
(Oh, wait... they posted in the Discussion thread, and I bet the three month timer triggers off of the Gameplay thread.)
I have no idea what features are different for PFS/SFS threads.

Thanks, hunting down the gameplay thread and hiding it worked :)
