Advice

I found this class just recently and want to play it sometime. The theme of the campaign that this character would be in is undead, so I want to go Sarenrae or a similar deity (I've considered Pharasma, but I'm not liking the idea).

What I want to ask about is spell selection- as a spontaneous caster, I need to select my spells carefully. My role would be largely support (a divine bard, if you will) and so I know a few obvious choices- bless, blessing of fervor and heroism are good (prayer grants a sacred bonus which doesn't stack with two of the invocation bonuses). What I don't know well at all is the inquisitor spell list (other than heroism), what would be good spells for this character to pick off of the inquisitor list, if any?

This may help (this is pre-racial bonus):

For support you'd be better to look at the cleric list. Weapons against evil and burst of radiance for example. What the inquisitor spell list offers that clerics don't is social boosts like honeyed tongue, sneaky spells like invisibility, and some swift action debuffs (1round duration, single target) called litanies. And a few random other spells like blistering invective.

There are actually a couple other interesting Inquisitor spells like Howling Agony and Night of Blades and a few others as well.

Prayer gives a luck bonus to your allies.

Note, night of blades is a spell by and for followers of Norgorber (Norites? Gorbers? Your Friendly Representatives Of Father Skinsaw?) and unlike weapons against evil there's no note anywhere (that I know of) that followers of other religions have learned or reverse engineered it.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

So I checked Inner Sea Gods, and the header before the list of spells says:

Quote on page 228 says wrote:
Despite this, all the spells in this chapter are available to members of other faiths, though some temples or religious organizations may proscribe the use of specific spells. Additionally, arcane spellcasters have unlocked the secrets of casting particular spells.

It IS on the sorcerer/wizard and summoner lists, not to mention the ranger/hunter one.
