As title, essentially. I got the email about the event signup on my birthday, it looks like, and I was working and celebrating that whole day, and missed it.
I have never been to Paizo-con, and am flying from FL to WA for two days for the convention. Am I going to miss out on a lot of the experience because I did not participate in the lottery? What should I expect as someone who missed the sign-up?
I am going to the banquet, so at least I have that going, but I'm a little worried about not having fun ways to spend time because I missed the lottery.

Hey, TheKillingJay, you should be fine! If you're a Society player (or looking to try it), there are a bunch of seats in both Pathfinder and Starfinder Society games reserved for on-site signups.
There will also be a table where you can grab tickets for lottery events that didn't fill or that people have realized they can't use.
On top of that, there are a bunch of things that don't require sign-ups at all! There are panels and actual plays you can go watch, the Reaper mini paint-and-take table, and the delves, which are twenty-minute games with Paizo staffers.
I think you'll have no shortage of fun ways to spend your time!

You have nothing to worry about. You'll have no trouble getting into games, although you'll need to line-up for them. The organizers only pre-assigned 4 out of 6 seats at each organized play table this year so walk-ins would have plenty of options.
If you're disappointed to not get in on some of the seminars and workshops that are booked up, people frequently over-schedule themselves and end up leaving their tickets on a swap table for other people to enjoy.

It's also worth noting that if there's a lottery game you really want to participate in, it can be worth your time to show up and see if someone else cancels. Last year my first lottery game ended up with two people not showing up and two attendees who were hoping for a spot in the game getting to fill in. It's not a guarantee so don't do it if you have a stronger option already, but I've definitely seen putting yourself on the "wait list" for an event work out before.

I also missed signup (although sort of on purpose) so I will be in the crowd of people floating around and looking for random fun things to join. :)
I think it'll be fun. I like doing conventions that way -- for me, at least, it's always nice to leave a window for serendipity and unexpected things.
Anyway if you see me/us around, say hi! I am definitely up for a few quick pickup games (and/or watching and cheering other people playing in theirs, hopefully not in a too-annoying way).
