caster battle cleric? or buffer battle cleric?

Advice

hi, im playing a ranger 2/cleric4/windrider4 (FR PrC)in a RoTRL campaign, i have currently wis 19 (17+2from item) and i see that with my caster lvl 8 there are a few damage/control spells around but with only a 14+spell lvl base save i kinda find it hard to land one spell of this, so i basically throw buffs to the fighter and barb. and then i go hack minions or help flanking with my greatsword (favoured weapon)
any thoughts? should i try to land spells like hold person or the like ?

ps: the windrider is a PrC that gives full caster progression and fighter BaB

Silver Crusade

With a Wis 19 there is no way your going to land spells from this point on. You can get some will save spells to work but not many. Unless you started focusing on spell casting from the start. You can not get the save DC you need at higher level play.

What you need to get spells to work. Bare min at levels 10+. And it gets much harder as you level. Saves increase out pass your ability to get higher DC for your spells.
Level 10
Starting Wis 18 + 2 (Levels 4,8) +4 (circlet of Wis +4) = 24 (+7Mod)

This and there spell list is why I tend to make combat focused divine casters. There spell list is good for self buffing, and healing. Past that they can do some other things. It however is not close to the raw power of a arcane caster spell list.
