I just had to something I can't remember ever doing with my group. I had to ask for a redistribution of Saturday's loot because one of the players didn't chime in fast enough in the email exchange (the game ran long and no one felt like staying around to do it afterward). He plays a member of a homebrew Neanderthal race and has little use for "modern" things, but he should at least have had the chance to voice an opinion on things. I guess we'll see how this turns out. Anyone else ever have to ask for a do-over with this sort of thing?

Yeah, but my main group has been playing together for...more or less...27 years now.
So we all understand and can backpedal when/where necessary fairly well and without complaint.
My group has been together for about 30, give or take. This is a new situation for me where they are concerned.

Is this loot distribution list “settled” before the next game session? Do they usually finalize loot distribution before everyone has weighed in?
No, this is the first time that I can ever recall them doing it, which is why I felt it was a bit unfair. I designed the loot to have something useful, I hoped, to everyone in the party, with the only "surplus" items being a few extra Potions of Cure Light Wounds

Take out a hit? I do not understand this term of which you speak. I am a simple businessmonkey, with an importation of olive oil concern. And many good friends in similar legitimate industries.

I've had the CRAPPIEST Wednesday on record for me.
Firstly while I'm not a morning person, it at least STARTED out better even though I ended up a little behind on walking my neighbor's dog and caring for him on what is his last day by himself.
I had asked my Mom to help me check on a client's dog while I did my other clients around the same time (and also walk my friend's dog)
She got that taken care of; our new cleaning lady came and while I'm not impressed by her, she did her job. So there's that.
But then came the crap storm... Mom LOST the only key I had. I still had the garage door code...but it turns out my client LOCKED all the doors...so I was VERY unhappy with that. (Especially after spending more than a HOUR trying to a) find the key (which we still haven't) and then b) the folder that had my client's info and the door code. (I need to clean my room more often...)
So then after I walked my friend's dog and then gave my neighbor's dog his last walk (since they texted me they'd be back by 7:30/8:00 pm); I got home. Mom was still upset (but we had SORT of fixed stuff because I talked to my client who lives not far from my friend and I told her I'd refund her money...even though she came back early from her day trip.)
So then I got dinner for us; Mom decided pizza and while I've had arm problems this past couple days...I didn't think much of it until I had to get my passenger's side door open and I ended up denting the box. (The pizza turned out fine.)
THEN I walked my dogs...and while I was trying to clean up after Galway (who for some inextricable reason decided pooping on a tree was a good idea..) when the neighbor's who yard I was trying to clean up came out with their new puppy. Rory started to bark at it, I snapped him back but in the process I had my glass fall OFF my face while I was trying to pick up dog poop. I also proceeded to STEP on my glasses and manage to smear a lens in poop...)
So yeah... I wasn't thrilled.
I'm just glad this week will end soon...

Hrm,... So,...
In Louisiana, apparently there was some kind of 'Hacking' and/or 'malware/ransomware' attack on Louisiana public schools, (That's all that they've mentioned, being non-disclosing with details as usual) so they shut down the ENTIRE system. Every parish, (thats COUNTY to you Non- lousy-anna peeps), Every computer, every network, every computerized phone system, in every school system, and possibly some of the state government systems too(?) (Did I mention that they aren't giving out too many details?) ;P
Of course this means that they have to re-schedule all of the school orientations that were planned for THIS week. (That I already rearranged MY schedule to get my kid to) for NEXT week. (That I have to rearrange my schedule for,... again)
Ransomware sucks.
If only these chowder-heads that DO this C&@% would work HALF as hard at a real job as they do at trying to scam others, they would already be well-off, if not rich. O_o
While Im on the subject,... (WARNING WARNING RANT IMMINENT!!)
Two heads of departments here on campus THAT I KNOW OF (so no telling how many others) have had their emails hacked recently. (They probably clicked one of those links that you should never clicky) So people are getting emails from what looks like these department heads, telling them to go buy gift cards. And you know the rest,...
GIFT CARDS?!? Seriously???? Does ANYone still fall for that nonsense?
I know FIVE year olds that know that anyone who asks for a gift card as payment is not legitimate. O_o
</endrant>
Deep breath,... OK,... OK,... I need to go back and pretend to get some actual work done now.
;P
Happy restoftheweek y'all! :)

This sounds like every complaint I've ever had about my plagiarist kids. If they put half the effort into doing their assignments that they spent avoiding their assignments...

So yesterday (Thursday) AND today have been MUCH better.
While I'm less thrilled about losing my client who is going to be on maternity leave (and thus doesn't need me to come in and look after their dog Millie); I AM thrilled that a) I will have more free time during the week (sort of); and also b)
My friend who has back problems who was at Pennsic came home EARLY!!!
So yeah. That made my day.
Today I slept in for the first time in a LONG time. I mean I still had to get up and take care of my dogs... but this meant I could go RIGHT back to bed and sleep until 11. Which I did...but I was woken up by a call from a client wanting to know if I would be available in two weeks. Which I will be. So there's that.
Mostly today is just unwinding after a stressful Wednesday and a crappy Monday. With the hope that now that I'll have my new glasses (WHICH will NOT cost more than 250 dollars) (YAY!), I'll be seeing things clearly again AND not having my glasses fall off my face so much.

My son didn't plagiarize. He just couldn't be bothered to do the work. Genius level IQ, zero interest level for school work. Thankfully those days are long past.
OI, vay, are we like, spiritual twinkies or something? ;)
My son (entering sophmore year of High School) is not quite as smart as he THINKS he is, but he IS (almost) too smart for his own good.
>_<
He's gotten by ALL through grade school and middle school with never having to study, just sort of paying attention in class, but he is smart enough that it always worked. With decent grades no less.
NOW he is in HS, and until the VERY end of last year he wouldn't get it in his head that HE IS BEING GIVEN MORE !@#$ INFO than he can possibly remember without studying or practicing the skills!
He FINALLY realized it, at the LAST possible moment, when I explained to him that the threat of summer school and/or not being promoted to the next grade was NOW a very real possibility.
So what happened? He studied. A lot. And passed. With top grades of course, so NOW he thinks he was just over reacting because his final grades were good. (ALmost all A's.)
<Facepalm>
I'm dreading a repeat performance this year. But to bring the rant full circle,
IF he would JUST do the work, he would actually spend LESS time on it than he spends trying to avoid it!
;P
Happy weekend all!

That was me in HS. I got thru everything up thru freshman year on just what I absorbed in class and didn't ever really have to study. Then sophomore year hit me in the face like a train.
I went from a straight-A student in almost all my prior years to a low/mid-B student for the rest of high school. (Except band. I always did well in band, heh.)
On the upside, at least it hit me then rather than in college?
| DungeonmasterCal |
I breezed all the way through high school without really studying anything and a lot of college. I did take some classes one summer at a small private college where my wife and I were dorm parents and let me tell you, that school demanded actual studying. I was not prepared for that. I managed to pull a B average out of it, but wow, was that hard.

Ugh...drama. What are you playing? Homebrew, Adventure Path, something in between?
Well since I basically started out this group (not the current iteration but the original) just doing Adventure Paths, we kind of kept with that and thus doing Adventure Paths; Giantslayer and we're on book 5 now.
Also I'm on my third character after my ranger died and so did my skald. So now it's on to the old standby, PALADIN! :)
