Unarmored proficiency to calculate AC

Playing the Game

Hi all, just a quick question here as we are about to start our session in 15mins here I'm hoping someone can provide an answer soon. My Wizard is wearing just Mage armor. The spell says "While wearing Mage Armor, you use your unarmored profiency to calculate your AC". What does that mean? Would I be sitting at 11AC assuming I don't have any other bonuses ie. Dex etc.

Thanks for the help!

That means you add the Unarmored Prof Bonus to your AC, the relevant Mage Armor AC Bonus, Dex, and any other modifiers you have to your AC.

Essentially this only matters if you're higher than Trained in Unarmored Prof, which I believe only impacts Monks.

For you it will probably be 14 + Dex Mod regardless.

That's a little high. Mage Armor is not a flat +4 any more, instead you have to heighten it to get a bigger bonus.

At level 1, that bonus is 1.

So Atalius is correct. AC of 11 + dex mod.
