Please add the dying condition DC to monsters entries

With the absurd attack bonuses of all the monsters, We regularily had to roll fortitude for the dying condition. But finding the DC for it when PCs were droped by a sword hit prooved not that easy.

It was ok for goblins, where I decided to use their dex and considering their level of 0.

However when we arrived to darkus, I had no idea of the difficulty, 10 +3 (level written in the black box) + str or maybe dex.

In this case str and dex are both 3 so i totaled 16, making the dying DC 17 for the first roll (with dying 1 adding 1). But it is not that quick to find it and i'm not even sure i have the good value. It would be much easier if this value was written somewhere.

You don't need to calculate anything for a recovery DC. Just check the DC table based on the monster level.

Talking of monster stat blocks, can we write what skill tells players about them? It doesn't seem standard based on creature type anymore, that I've seen, and it makes sense some undead are more Occult territory while some are Religious, so writing that in the stat block would be neat, since it's often the first thing rolled relating to a creature. Sometimes the only thing.

Yes, please do this. At the same time add DCs to the rituals as well, there's room for both of these.


The Ritual DCs also depends on their level and heightening, referring to the DC table (i already printed it, way too many references to it).

As for which skill, i resolved to have different skills use different checks. For examples, Vampires (the check my players tried first, for obvious reasons) were a lv4 check for Religion (low, 17), occult (hard, 19) and Vampire Lore (trivial, 13).
Their highest roll was a 7 from the Dubious Knowledge guy (Vampires are undead creatures that suck blood. They are unnaturally superstitious and tend to feed mostly off human nobles), so it didn’t matter, but it was good practice.

Basically you need that chart at all times.

To Ystear, yes this is just yet another rule that for some reason, our eyes scan over the information but don't process it. I did the same.

I think there needs to be more examples for important things like this that people might miss.


Thanks for the answer, I didn't see that last line indeed.
I would advice that this line is put higher in the text, because that text explains how to findout the DC, but this should really be the last part, like saying: If the attack doesn't come from a spell of from a monster's attack, you can determine the dying DC by doing....

because i was looking for it and I honestly stopped reading once I found that part, as I had the answer to my question of "how are determined recovery DC"
