If I'm holding, let's say, a +4 scimitar, and use BANE ability. Will my weapon goes +6? Or will it cap at +5?
+6.
The bane weapon quality counts as a +1 quality, and THAT'S what matters for the total +10 limit on magic weapons.
A +5 dragon bane dancing greatsword is a legal weapon. Against a dragon, it would function as a +7 dragon bane dancing greatsword, but that doesn't increase its price at all (or put it over the limit of +10 weapon enhancements).
What about a +5 vorpal scimitar with Greater Bane ? Would it goes +9?
+7. Greater Bane (Su) increases the bonus damage to to 4d6, but doesn't add another +2.

Hi there,
Another quick question about Inquisitor.
If I'm holding, let's say, a +4 scimitar, and use BANE ability.
Will my weapon goes +6? Or will it cap at +5?
Will effecively be +6.
What about a +5 vorpal scimitar with Greater Bane ? Would it goes +9?Thanks,
Amuny
He will be unable to greater Bane the weapon. A +5 Vorpal Scimitar is ALREADY a +10 weapon. You can not take it above 10 and adding the Bane ability (+1) would make it a +11 Weapon.
This is similar to a Divine Bond for a Paladin which has been ruled can NOT bring the weapon over +10 total value.

Whoops, you're correct.
Magic Weapons: "A single weapon cannot have a modified bonus (enhancement bonus plus special ability bonus equivalents, including those from character abilities and spells) higher than +10."
A +5 Brilliant energy scimitar could get Greater Bane to be effectively +7 (with 4d6 bonus damage) against it's designated foe.
